Elon Musk's bizarre feud with a senator and a television host intensified on Thursday, with news anchor Joy Reid accusing him of 'misappropriating black vernacular for misogynistic purposes' by using the insult 'Karen'—and Musk referring to Reid, in turn, as a lobbyist for Elizabeth Warren.(Snip)'Elon wasn't happy, so he did what he always did, and stomped his little feet and insulted Senator Warren,' said Reid. Let the parade begin!
Democrats who see the writing on the wall and who have been around in Congress for a while are seeing this as a good time to pack it in.
The latest to retire is five-term Rep. Alan Lowenthal (D-CA). Lowenthal is the 20th Democrat who will be retiring or otherwise moving on at the end of this term. He’s 80 years old and has been serving in political positions since 1992, almost thirty years. Generally, you hear a lot of retirements after the holidays. The fact that there have been so many already has to be worrying the Democrats because there are likely even more coming,

Being Black in America today is a lot like being a football: Your identity is thrown around a lot, and you have no control over who is throwing it, or where. Modern politics seems to require one claim to help Black people in order to gain traction. Unfortunately, claiming to help and actually helping are two different things. And what we're seeing on the progressive Left is the use of Black Americans as an experimental lab for what can only be called a communist utopian fever dream.
I call it communist because it's based on the kind of leveling of the playing field that Marx promoted.

PolitiFact, a fact-checking site that purports to be an unbiased source of information, has chosen its 2021 “Lie of the Year” and it’s a doozy. The organization picked the one topic that could be found on every Democratic talking points sheet from January until December: The Capitol Hill riot. Specifically, they decided to select all of the claims and statements “downplaying the realities and significance of the Capitol insurrection.” That sounds more like they are attacking anyone with a difference in opinion on just how “historical” the event was, rather than actually picking a concrete lie that can be disproven by facts. In the old days, by contrast, the Democrats used to say some wise things. For example:

Remember how the left not long ago went on and on and on about the supposed “war on women” from the right? The irony is that according to current leftist dogma, women no longer exist. After all, the Biden Administration’s Department of Health and Human Services is insisting in referring to mothers (once understood as a significant subset of beings known as “women”) as “birthing persons,” because current leftist dogma says man can have babies, too. Which means women no long have anything naturally distinctive about them.
Christine Rosen dilates this problem wonderfully in the current issue of Commentary in “The New Misogyny.” Key bit:

Buy it. Read it. If you choose not to, avoid holiday arguments with anyone who has. You will lose.
The book has real heart. There is no doubting Kennedy’s passion and sincerity. That heart, however, has a hole. I am inclined to trace the hole to the fact that RFK Jr. is, after all, a Kennedy.

Pro-life women and men alike usually laugh when they hear the term “feminist” being used to describe a pro-abortion man. But seeing as though it’s women who these “feminist” men are trying to impress the most, it is conservative women in particular who especially get a kick out of the absurdity of them actually thinking they’re dazzling anyone with their virtue signaling outside of the people in their like-minded liberal circles on the matter.
That virtue signaling, of course, is wildly self-serving for reasons which should be obvious to everyone but which – shockingly enough – aren’t to some.

What is behind recent pessimistic appraisals of democracy’s future, from Hillary Clinton, Adam Schiff, Brian Williams and other elite intellectuals, media personalities, and politicians on the Left? Some are warning about its possible erosion in 2024. Others predict the democracy downturn as early 2022, with scary scenarios of “autocracy” and Trump “coups.”
To answer that question, understand first what is not behind these shrill forecasts.
They are not worried about 2 million foreign nationals crashing the border in a single year, without vaccinations during a pandemic. Yet it seems insurrectionary for a government simply to nullify its own immigration laws.

The bill rider to the larger NDAA package was put forward by Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) to “prevent Joe Biden from dishonorably discharging servicemembers for choosing to not get the COVID vaccine.”
The amendment to the NDAA would not protect men and women in the military from being discharged from the military, but it would protect them from the social stigma of a dishonorable discharge, only permitting those who refuse the vaccine to be discharged honorably.

Crime in California has skyrocketed over the past two years, with homicides in San Francisco jumping 15% in 2021 compared to 2020, and over 50% compared to 2019. Statewide, homicides, property crime, violent crime and larcenies have all risen since before the pandemic.
Retail thefts in particular have plagued the state, most notably in Los Angeles and San Francisco, where organized gangs of criminals will break into and loot storefronts of their merchandise.

Researchers found 15 excess cases per 1 million people who received a second dose of the vaccine compared to 10 extra cases of myocarditis following a positive COVID-19 test. Moderna’s vaccine is typically taken in a two-dose regimen.
The risk of myocarditis, a form of heart inflammation, was much higher following the second dose of the Moderna vaccine, but there were still eight excess cases per 1 million people following the first dose as well.
“Time to abandon the belief that COVID-19 myocarditis risk is always higher than mRNA vaccine myocarditis risk. For some individuals, myocarditis risks of the vaccine(s) are higher than those of the disease,” Euzebiusz Jamrozik,

New York’s top ethics panel on Tuesday ordered disgraced ex-Gov. Andrew Cuomo to pay the state $5.1 million in book profits he made on the backs of taxpayers amid the worst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The extraordinary resolution was approved by the Joint Commission on Public Ethics in a 12-1 vote — a month after the ethics agency voted to revoke its prior approval allowing Cuomo to earn outside income from his book “American Crisis: Leadership Lessons from the COVID-19 Pandemic” while he was still governor and New York was in the throes of the deadly coronavirus outbreak.
The lone dissenter was William Fisher, a Cuomo appointee.

Wednesday night on his eponymous Fox News Channel show, host Tucker Carlson and former Congressman Sean Duffy (R-WI) lambasted the liberal media and their allies in elected office for having moved on from the deadly November 15 attack on the Waukesha, Wisconsin Christmas parade as the facts of the case run conflict with the left’s narratives about America.Put simply, as both acknowledged (and as our Bill D’Agostino did last month), it largely comes down to a few factors, most notably race and religion.

The scientific quest for a universal coronavirus vaccine received a boost Wednesday, as three top federal researchers, including Dr. Anthony Fauci, outlined a path to develop new vaccines that could tackle a variety of ailments including Covid-19, some common colds and future viruses. Writing in the New England Journal of Medicine, Fauci and two colleagues said the virus that causes Covid-19 is unlikely to be eliminated, and current vaccines are too limited to prevent the emergence of new variants.

A former senior FBI lawyer who falsified a surveillance document in the Trump-Russia investigation has been restored as a member in "good standing" by the District of Columbia Bar Association even though he has yet to finish serving out his probation as a convicted felon, according to disciplinary records obtained by RealClearInvestigations.
The move is the latest in a series of exceptions the bar has made for Kevin Clinesmith, who pleaded guilty in August 2020 to doctoring an email used to justify a surveillance warrant targeting former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page.

With the price of gas hitting $7 a gallon and a package of Oscar Meyer bacon hitting $9.59 out in California, you can bet inflation is on consumers' minds, and 80% of them know who did it.
Big government spending, the kind that requires the Fed to print more money than the economy can handle, is behind it. The U.S. has passed a helluva lot of gargantuan trillion-plus-dollar spending bills for things such as COVID relief, "infrastructure," bailouts of favored industries, stimulus payouts, and more in the last few years and the economy is still struggling to digest it.

MEDFORD, Mass. — Police are searching for the people responsible for smash-and-grab robberies at several Massachusetts jewelry stores. Surveillance video shared by Touch of Midas in Burlington shows nine people breaking through the front door in the overnight hours between Saturday and Sunday. Those people then used hammers to smash display cases in order to grab fistfuls of jewelry. Those thieves were able to run off before anyone could catch them. Roland Racicot, the owner of Roland's Jewelry, said thieves broke into his 30-year-old Medford business and stole about $15,000 in merchandise the same night Touch of Midas was robbed. The

Most of you whippersnappers were not even Planned Parenthood targets back when inflation was last a thing. It was the late-seventies, which you people associate with funky clothing and disco music. Most of us who lived through that miserable decade associate it with economic malaise, notably including massive inflation and 18% interest rates.
Yeah, think about 18% interest, all you folks with an adjustable rate loan. You’re spoiled by cheap money and low inflation. You are about to learn a lesson in economics. See, when Uncle Sucker prints lots of money and there are fewer things to buy, you get inflation. Prices rise. And your standard of living falls.

Now, reporting undisputed facts that happen to be unflattering to the current president poses a grave threat to the survival of the nation. That’s what journalists are saying.

Whether you call it robbery, thievery, stealing, or larceny, the fact is that the "smash and grab" actions being performed in liberal sinkholes such as San Francisco against department stores and other businesses are highly alarming. It would seem that the shoddy implementation of progressive policies, without proper groundwork and consideration of ground realities, is yielding detrimental results.
According to our latest Golden/TIPP Poll conducted in early December, 81% of Americans view the increase in violence as alarming vs. 11% who do not.

At law, fraud is a very specific act requiring that the person charged with fraud knowingly makes a false statement intending that people rely on it. The fraud becomes actionable if people do rely on it to their detriment. The falsehood can be from commission (telling an affirmative lie) or omission (suppressing a critical fact). From the moment Trump entered the White House, chipmunk-cheeked Rep. Adam Schiff (D. Hollyweird), has been defrauding the American people with one lie after another. Schiff’s latest fraudulent act as part of his role on the Soviet-style show trial that is the January 6 committee was to doctor a text message

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was set to meet with advisers Thursday to discuss possible restrictions on Johnson & Johnson’s COVID-19 vaccine due to ongoing concerns about blood clots, particularly among women.
Federal officials temporarily halted use of the single dose J&J vaccine in April to study six women who had experienced blood clots after getting vaxxed. The government ruled that the rewards far outweighed the risks associated with the shot, and usage of the vaccine resumed within days with a new warning label.

Joe Biden ran for president largely by blaming President Trump for the fact that people were dying from (or more often, with) covid. Biden said Trump was responsible for all of those deaths. But now, of course, more people have died with covid during the Biden administration than during Trump’s. So is Biden responsible for those deaths?
One White House reporter–I assume it was Peter Doucy–had the temerity to ask that question, and he followed up with a question about China’s role. Biden’s response? A smirk and a wave of the hand:

New York Times columnist Bret Stephens wrote in a column on Tuesday that President Joe Biden should not seek reelection in 2024. In a piece entitled, “Biden Should Not Run Again — and He Should Say He Won’t,” Stephens also called the president “alarmingly incoherent.” For an author at The New York Times to beg Biden to step aside so other Democrats can prepare for the next presidential contest, is, to say the least, unprecedented. It must also be unnerving for Democrats.

Approximately 168,000 of the 800,000 U.S. COVID-19 deaths could have been prevented by the Covid vaccines, a new analysis finds. The Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF) analyzed Covid death data in the U.S., and found that tens-of-thousands of deaths over the past six months could have been prevented if people had gotten vaccinated.
They used the death rate among fully vaccinated people—who do occasionally die from the virus despite the overall rarity—and calculated how many unvaccinated people would have lived if they had received the jab. September and October were especially brutal, with a combined 92,800 deaths deemed preventable.

A University of Minnesota scholar has raised eyebrows with her study into how policing affects 'birthing people' in different parts of Minneapolis. Rachel Hardeman, director of the Center for Antiracism Research for Health Equity at the university, published her findings on December 8 in the medical journal JAMA.(Snip)White mothers living in 'high police contact neighborhoods' experienced a 90 per cent higher chance of preterm birth compared to residents in low-contact areas.
