A University of Minnesota scholar has raised eyebrows with her study into how policing affects 'birthing people' in different parts of Minneapolis. Rachel Hardeman, director of the Center for Antiracism Research for Health Equity at the university, published her findings on December 8 in the medical journal JAMA.(Snip)White mothers living in 'high police contact neighborhoods' experienced a 90 per cent higher chance of preterm birth compared to residents in low-contact areas. U.S.-born black mothers in the same areas experienced a 100 per cent higher chance of preterm birth, yet foreign-born black mothers showed only a 10 per cent higher chance for preterm birth.

No one would have ever guessed 10 years ago this is how women's rights would just vanish. By simply denying that the concept of woman is even a thing. And then calling anyone who disagrees a bigot.

If you ever needed to understand that lie-berals are totally incapable of understanding and applying logic, reason, or facts to anything, this should be your wakeup call!!!
I can totally agree that "Both black and white women (corrected for accuracy) living in bad neighborhoods are about twice as likely as others to have preterm deliveries". But that is highly probable that it is far more caused by massive drug and alcohol abuse, failure to get proper prenatal care, poor diets, and lots of violence. But that would be based on facts. Instead, let's go with our "feelings and blame it on those mean old police!!!
If I woke up and discovered that I had become a lie-beral overnight, I would go outside and throw myself in front of the first passing bus I could find!!! I just couldn't live that that combinate of stupidity and evil!!!!!

University of Minnesota,"Swing and a Miss", struck out again! If the neighborhoods are policed heavily, d'ya spose it might be because it is a HIGH CRIME area? The question then becomes; Is it the police presence or the fear of crime that causes the problem in question?

Statistics 101 teaches the difference between correlation and causation.
Apparently that is not taught in Minnesota.
This would be an excellent time for 'scholar' Rachel Hardeman to take Statistics 101.

“Birthing people” in bad neighborhoods tend to be obese, have multiple children by different babydaddies, use more drugs, alcohol, and tobacco than healthy women, and are poorly educated by choice. Many reasons why they live in bad neighborhoods in the first place.
But hey, it’s obviously because of the poh-leece.

As a doctor involved in medical research once told me, show me the cause and effect.
Everyone born in 1853 ate carrots. Everyone in 1853 is now dead. But that doesn't mean that carrots cause death.

Really? My studies show that 100% of transgender females (male to female) have a 0% of becoming pregnant. Will so doctor or psychologist do a study saying this is because of the stress and anxiety transgender people feel regarding their reproductive rights? Maybe they are afraid they wont be able to get an abortion. Special interest groups will always have some study to justify their existence.

OK then, take out all the police and let them have their babies at home. See how well they do. When they cry for police just say, "no we do not want to hurt your "birthing" experience.

Now let me try to figure this out.
The places where people engage in the most irresponsible reckless behavior much of which is criminal are the places that attract a commensurate disproportionate level of police attention which some will call over-policing.
It takes responsible behavior to carry a child to full term.
Na, forget it, it's all about racism.

So if a black woman in this are has a 100% greater chance does that mean that every black baby is born prematurely? What nonsense.

abortion causes prematurity to increase because it weakens the muscles that hold the baby in. And abortion is more prevalent in Black communities - probably in part because that's where Planned Parenthood reaches out to cause it. And Black communities are where these policing tactics are used. What it comes down to is, Planned Parenthood causes prematurity to rise. Planned Parenthood is one of the worst organizations on Earth..

Sounds like a suggestion to have more black abortions. Why would they want to risk having premature babies?

Correlation does not equal causality.
In the 1800s, the French did a study and found that Parisian prostitutes had more foot problems than non-prostitutes. Conclusion? Having bad feet led to prostitution.

The people of Minnesota who actually do pay taxes along with federal grants are paying for “crap studies” like this one, and there are lots of “crap studies” coming out of public colleges and universities, like the one reported in this article. Common sense will tell you that the reason that local police routinely operate more heavily in certain neighborhoods than others, is that those “policed communities” are where there is a lot of crime and the criminals who perpetrate those crimes, and has nothing to do with pregnant women, unless they are themselves involved in crime, or are connected to the criminals who are the perpetrators of crimes in those “communities”.

#21, and when you hear of those cases, both the mother and baby survive. So does that mean that we can do away with medical schools and midwifes and just let the cops deliver babies since they have a high statistical success rate? If that is the case, then there would still be more cops in minority neighborhoods. Can't win on this one.

JAMA publishes anything these days, provided it's woke. Both black and white "birthing people" living in bad neighborhoods are about twice as likely as others to have preterm deliveries. Because of a mysterious immigrant paradox, foreign-born black birthing people in bad areas have only a 10% elevated risk, which proves structural racism conclusively because black immigrants are too new to carry the burden of oppression. That's Science.
