With the price of gas hitting $7 a gallon and a package of Oscar Meyer bacon hitting $9.59 out in California, you can bet inflation is on consumers' minds, and 80% of them know who did it. Big government spending, the kind that requires the Fed to print more money than the economy can handle, is behind it. The U.S. has passed a helluva lot of gargantuan trillion-plus-dollar spending bills for things such as COVID relief, "infrastructure," bailouts of favored industries, stimulus payouts, and more in the last few years and the economy is still struggling to digest it.

Comments:

They say strange things now that the voters are onto them.

FTA: Inflation..."Big government spending, the kind that requires the Fed to print more money than the economy can handle, is behind it." Big government spending, like the TRILLIONS released into the economy by the past administration for stimulus and other purposes. But that was "good spending", right? Has nothing to do with any of this. Big government spending is a bi-partisan sport. The noise is the convince the public that cares that their elected officials care, too.

Everybody to to Sen. Joe Manchin's website and thank him for saving what is left of our wonderful nation. Urge him to continue to stand firm and not to give in to this insanity that will doom our great grand children to misery. Let's give him support and encouragement.

Leftist Millennial Elected President in
Chile After Running on Higher Taxes, a
Green Economy and Greater Equality

Leftist Gabriel Boric was elected president of Chile on Sunday by a larger-than-expected margin, giving him a mandate to push for higher taxes, greener industries and greater equality after a contest focused on discontent over an investor-friendly economy that has left many behind. The former student protest leader won 56% of the vote, beating conservative rival Jose Antonio Kast’s 44%. The victory is likely to spook markets that fear interventionist policies. Boric, 35, will take office in March as one of the youngest presidents in the world and with an ambitious agenda.

SANTIAGO, Chile — Former leftist student leader Gabriel Boric will be under quick pressure from his youthful supporters to fulfill his promises to remake Chile after the millennial politician scored a historic victory in the country’s presidential runoff election. Boric spent months traversing up and down Chile vowing to bring a youth-led form of inclusive government to attack nagging poverty and inequality that he said are the unacceptable underbelly of a free market model imposed decades ago by the dictatorship of Gen. Augusto Pinochet.

Joe Biden doesn't want to build a border wall. We all know that he says as much and that he's been captured by the vast open borders industrial complex. One problem for Joe, though: That dereliction of duty has driven his poll numbers straight into the toilet. His public approval is falling, with disapproval of his handling of the border crisis now at an all-time high. Longtime Democrat Hispanic strongholds in south Texas are now turning red, and the illegals are surging on in. Amazingly, he has the wherewithal to fix that problem, but not the brains.

After her turn as host of “Saturday Night Live” last week, the pop star Billie Eilish sat down with Howard Stern on Monday for a long, intense interview on his SiriusXM radio show. As always with Stern, talk turned to sex. And then to pornography. The ensuing conversation generated many headlines. Eilish, who turned 20 on Saturday, told Stern she began watching what she called “abusive pornography” when she was 11 years old. She eventually got to a point, she said, where she couldn’t watch anything else. “Unless it was violent, I didn’t think it was attractive,” she said. “I used to be like the person

The sudden appearance of smash-and-grab mass lootings has left a lot of people perplexed. After all, who the hell would do that sort of thing? We know that such people are aware that they won't be punished, but that isn't the full story. Most of us wouldn't do that kind of thing no matter what the incentives. We're the kind of people who return an extra dollar to a store clerk because honesty is natural and compassion is our way of life -- we don't want the clerk's drawer to come up short at the end of the day. We live our social capital.
