Why Is the Left Worried Suddenly About
the End of Democracy?

Original Article

What is behind recent pessimistic appraisals of democracy’s future, from Hillary Clinton, Adam Schiff, Brian Williams and other elite intellectuals, media personalities, and politicians on the Left? Some are warning about its possible erosion in 2024. Others predict the democracy downturn as early 2022, with scary scenarios of “autocracy” and Trump “coups.” To answer that question, understand first what is not behind these shrill forecasts. They are not worried about 2 million foreign nationals crashing the border in a single year, without vaccinations during a pandemic. Yet it seems insurrectionary for a government simply to nullify its own immigration laws.

Mr. Hanson, I wish I had the chance to ask you why you were so angry with Trump supporters during the 2016 campaign. You were so furious with us for wanting Trump, and I have never seen you apologize for that angry article in NRO. So I don't read you much anymore, and you don't have the credibility with me that you used to, thanks to that angry article. The Left is worried about their own skins Victor, they could care less about the Republic on which we stand.

I am not a young man, yet when I was growing up after finishing the Sunday paper my father would tell me that “the Democrats always accuse the Republicans of doing things that Democrats are actually doing. The most vivid example was Lyndon Johnson saying that electing Barry Goldwater would send American boys nine or ten thousand miles away from home to do what Asian boys ought to be doing for themselves. I learned later on this is a propaganda technique called projection. When Democrats and their cheerleaders in the media call Republicans a “threat to Democracy” it indicates a Democrat assault on Democracy. Another propaganda technique is repetition. When Democrats and their cheerleaders in the media call Republicans a “threat to Democracy” over and over as the have for the past year, it is a clear indication Democrats pose a threat to our Democracy. In this article Mr. Hanson has clearly outlined the threat. I would add passing major legislation without a single Republican vote another threat. Labeling votes on major legislation with under 6% Republican approval as bipartisan is also a threat

FTA: In other words, leftist elites are terrified that democracy will work too robustly. After the Russian collusion hoax, the two impeachments, the Hunter Biden laptop stories, the staged melodramas of the Kavanaugh hearings, the Jussie Smollett con, the Covington kids smear, and the Rittenhouse trial race frenzy, the people are not just worn out by leftist hysterias, but also weary of how the Left gains power and administers it. And, I'd add, they are commenting on what they say is "our" democracy, which for democrats means their specific version of what they mean, not the generic meaning most would associate, but hoping to link it and make people question Republicans. Look at some of them now complaining about the out-of-control crime in their liberal/progressive cities where they let out criminals hours after a crime was committed, and don't seem to see it was THEY who have allowed the issue to be a problem.

We have NEVER had a "democracy". If you read what our founding fathers wrote at the time they were VERY opposed to democracy, the wanted absolutely nothing to do with democracy. I am disappointed in VDH, a very learned historian, letting this misuse of language and terminology go unchallenged, and continuing the misuse of the term. I agree with all Mr. Hanson's points, very much. But letting this misuse of the word democracy continue unchallenged is, once again, giving over the terms of the discussion to the extreme leftists to redefine terms in ways that make them have an advantage. Words mean things, and "democracy" is NOT our form of government and is quite dramatically different than the representative republic that we do have.

I'm with the poster who views Mr. Hanson with a stern eye and tilted head. I still see Hanson as a never Trumper while sighting down his elitist nose at Trump supporters in 2016. I don't read all of his articles because he's not telling me something I already know he's only more articulate than myself when writing it down. True to the article, if you wish to read it. MAGA

Like so much Democrat 'jargon' you must interpret it through the filter of left is right, up is down, wet is dry and night is day. If you consider they mean their control over people's lives by Democrats, is 'Democracy', it makes much more sense.

I'm gonna step in Byrdpoo here, but anyway: Projection is a common tool of those who have Borderline Personality disorder, an affliction that mostly strikes females. Projection, and other disingenuous manipulations are a foundational part of today's demorat methodology. Throughout history, homo sapiens have long been the premier predator on planet earth, and in the historical era of plain brute force, women, being physically weaker, were subservient. But they are every bit as predatory as men. Just like the lower predators: lions. tigers, bears etc. there is no great difference in predatory nature between male and female. Today, in our advanced civilization, the predator instinct in homo sapiens remains, but due to legislation, the courts etc. women have now gained the upper hand, as any man who has gone through "family court" can tell you. All part of a carefully designed failure plan for western society. Anyway, the demorat party, having bought in hook, line and sinker to academia's failure plan for the west, has adopted many of the classicly feminine survival and empowerment methodologies. Thus: projection.

Socialism never can support itself. It must steal from those who produce. Capitalism supports itself and those in need. Socialism covets what capitalism has. Socialism is the green-eyed monster who sneaks in to steal and destroy.

More and more businesses in recent days have walked back previous rules mandating COVID-19 vaccine sas a condition for employment in a bid to keep workers. Earlier this week, Amtrak—a quasi-public corporation—became the latest to rescind its vaccine requirement amid concerns about staff shortages and cut service in January. In a memo sent to staff that was obtained by The Epoch Times, Amtrak CEO William Flynn said the company would do away with the mandate that would have given employees until Jan. 4 to get fully vaccinated or go on unpaid leave. About 500 out of more than 17,000 Amtrak workers remain unvaccinated,

The Senate has passed a draft of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that would forbid the Department of Defense from dishonorably discharging members of the military whose only offense was refusing the vaccine. The bill rider to the larger NDAA package was put forward by Sen. Roger Marshall (R-Kan.) to “prevent Joe Biden from dishonorably discharging servicemembers for choosing to not get the COVID vaccine.” The amendment to the NDAA would not protect men and women in the military from being discharged from the military, but it would protect them from the social stigma of a dishonorable discharge, only permitting those who refuse the vaccine to be discharged honorably.
