Democrats weren't always the party of stupid

No, that mostly happened with the election of somnolent, senile, drowsy, sleepy, lazy, sluggish, lethargic SlowJoe Biden (in Joe’s case, one such adjective is just not enough) and an ex-bartender called “AOC” which may stand for Auditory Out of Control. In the old days, by contrast, the Democrats used to say some wise things. For example: “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” Martin Luther King Jr. Today’s Democrats say that statement is racist. They say it’s not only permissible to judge people

An event that is just too sweet to ponder. For the second year in a row, Glen Beaton has won the Aspen Times “Best Columnist” award. This is two years after the Times fired him for not representing the views of the editors. https://pagetwo.completecolorado.com/2021/12/09/aspen-times-readers-pick-fired-conservative-writer-as-best-columnist/ I’ve skied Aspen several time and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a town so thoroughly dominated by Trustifarians and the Hanger’s-on that flock around them looking for scraps. The mountain is wonderful, the town sucks.

# 2: No, MLK was not a Republican. He was careful not to identify closely with either party. But most historians would say he was part of the civil rights movement which became associated rightly or wrongly with Democrats in the late 60s.https://www.britannica.com/story/was-martin-luther-king-jr-a-republican-or-a-democrat

True they weren't always the Party of Stupid... but they've always been the Party of unethical, un-American intentions - from the beginning of this country. Obama admitted it himself, he simply didn't identify who were the villains - he simply implied the Republicans were. For those who don't read History, Republicans were not part of the founding, and only formed up to oppose slavery just prior to the Civil War. Abraham Lincoln was their very first, successful Presidential contender. Up until the Late Sixties, it was unthinkable for a Black family to be anything except, Republican, as the Republican Party helped free them, then bled and died along side of them through the Jim Crow years. After Johnson had King killed, the Dems sent in their stooges, their 'House Slaves' to manage the leaderless Black Community. That, along with the new Welfare Laws - run by the Democrats, destroyed the nuclear Black family. Then Roe vs. Wade ushered in the death of the future Black population. The Dems, up to that point had been in hysterics as Blacks were projected to outnumber Whites by 1980. I think the Black population actually declined in the following decades, much to the Democrats delight as they could more easily manipulate and victimize the shattered Black families.

Restricted to presidents, every democrat president in my lifetime has been stupid, including JFK. Before he was elected he hung out in Vegas with the glamour boys of hollywood and the mob. He was set up by Frank Sinatra, slept with a mobster's girlfriend and if that is not the definition of stupid, nothing is. He then took up with Marilyn Monroe who followed him to Washington. All this while married to Jackie. Pulling out the promised air support for the Cubans attempting to take their country back from Castro got thousands of good people killed because he lost his courage. Stupid, stupid, stupid. Then LBJ was responsible for The Great Society, which still drains our wallets today to support the useless underclass.

It's all about self-segregation these days, and shaming whites. How long ago was it that black women complained about their men hanging with white women? Well, they still do. Store theft is now done openly. People load their arms or shopping carts with stuff they want and simply walk out the door. After closing, mobs of them smash the storefront and grab what they want. I’m reminded of stores in Mexico where padlocked steel curtains cover the glass storefronts each night. After closing, the store become a little fortress. The left explains that this isn’t looting because . . . reasons. One reason is that it’s really a protest for social justice, whatever that is. Another reason is that stores have insurance, dontcha know, and so stealing from them isn’t really stealing.

For seven years, I was the conservative columnist for the Aspen Times. Democrats outnumber Republicans three to one in Aspen and about twenty to one at the newspaper, where I was the one. Despite the liberal leanings of the Aspen Times and its readers, my conservative column became the most-read thing in the newspaper. It often garnered more clicks than front page news and, I suspect, even the real estate ads for $4,000/sq ft condos. But I evidently wasn’t hired to be a conservative success. Rather, I was hired to be a conservative token. On Christmas Eve in 2019 after savoring the clicks I had generated for seven years, they fired me

The Supreme Court this week heard oral argument on the Mississippi law that limits abortion after 15 weeks from conception. As someone who practiced law at the Supreme Court, I listened to the arguments. I think they’ll uphold the Mississippi law. I have a few observations. Keep in mind that oral argument at the Supreme Court is typically more theater than jurisprudence. The Justices usually already have their minds made up from reading the briefs. But it’s worthwhile theater because it connects the public to the judicial process. Also, it gives some insight into the likely decision which won’t come till next Spring.
Colorado plans to cancel "sex offender"

Some 20,000 sex criminals in Colorado get “treatment” from the state Sex Offender Management Board, or “SOMB.” It’s a big bureaucracy with layers of committees and “work groups.” Rapists treated by the SOMB are of course not called “rapists.” In fact, that term appears nowhere on the big SOMB website. It was banned years ago because it became associated with criminals who coercively, forcibly and sometimes violently prey sexually upon others – persons who commit what we used to call “rape.” Stated another way, the term “rapist” came to connote persons who rape.

Kyle Rittenhouse shot three people. The first two died. It’s interesting to see who they were. The backgrounds of these guys is not determinative of Rittenhouse’s guilt or innocence – there’s no open season on creeps – but it’s relevant in piecing together the story of that deadly night. The first who was shot served 14 years in prison for raping a child and then for dozens of in-prison disciplinary violations. He was a registered sex offender and was found guilty of assault, arson and narcotics crimes. He was wanted at the time of the shooting for bail-jumping and domestic abuse, and had been released from a hospital

“Woke” was coined by the left some years ago to describe a person who had become sensitive to the left’s pet issues, especially racial and “social justice” ones. It implied that a person disagreeing with the left about those issues was not just wrong, but unconscious. This catchy term was initially successful. But the left never succeeds at success. That’s because what’s important to them is not being successful in resolving grievances, but parading those grievances as evidence of their victimhood. Victim status is more important to the left than winning – and easier too.

Traffic accidents illustrate the phenomenon. It was widely assumed that traffic deaths would decline during the pandemic because fewer miles were being driven. But the opposite happened. Miles driven did predictably decline in 2020 compared to 2019 – by about 13% — but traffic deaths spiked upward 7% compared to 2019. The story in 2021 is even worse. Traffic deaths in 2021 are running about 18% higher than 2020 even though miles driven are up only 13% over that one-year period. These grim figures correlate with declining use of seatbelts, more drunk driving and more speeding. COVID effectively suspended the rules of the road. That’s not all.

Kamala Harris told us before this week’s election that, “What happens in Virginia will in large part determine what happens in 2022, 2024 and on.” OK, let’s run with that.
