That starts with the fact that Ocasio-Cortez is herself Catholic. Does she consider her own faith “fundamentalist”?
I presume she’d say the Church requires its members to be pro-life in their private conduct (isn’t she pro-choice?) but doesn’t require them to enshrine their beliefs in public policy. If that’s the case, I’d politely refer her to today’s news.

De Blasio make the announcement during an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe on Friday. It comes merely 48 hours after de Blasio announced via Twitter that he was forming an exploratory committee to raise money for a potential bid. The committee was legally turned into a formal campaign on Friday.
In announcing his candidacy, de Blasio told host Joe Scarborough that “people are hurting, they need help, they need help fast,” and that “they need leaders that can actually get them help now.”

Eleven Senate Republicans voted on Thursday to defy the Republican and Democrat establishment and oppose a $40 billion aid package to Ukraine.
The Senate voted Thursday afternoon to approve H.R. 7691, the Ukraine Supplemental Aid Package, 86-11. Nearly the entire Senate voted for the gargantuan aid package to the embattled eastern European nation, and notably, only Republicans opposed the legislation to grant tens of billions of dollars in military and economic aid to Ukraine.

Thanks to the leaked opinion in the Dobbs case, abortion “rights” have become a hot topic on the left. But what about the rights of health care workers to refuse to abort babies? Or to refuse participation in other referrals or procedures (such as euthanasia or gender reassignment surgeries) to which they object on moral or religious grounds?
Under a proposed rule removal by the Biden administration’s Health and Human Services Department (HHS), health care workers will have little recourse if their medical school, employer, or state insists that they participate in procedures or referrals to which they object.
Well, duh—the obvious answer is YES. But that hasn’t been a winning argument in the Supreme Court since 1935 unfortunately.
