In Coweta County, Georgia, where former President Donald Trump swept with nearly 70 percent of the vote in 2020, GOP primary voters will voice their opinions on reducing overall legal immigration to the United States. Later this month, on May 24, Coweta County Republican primary voters will head to the polls to cast their votes in the state’s highly-contested gubernatorial race. In Coweta County, primary voters will also be asked about their opinions on the current rate of legal immigration. The question on the county ballot reads: According to federal government statistics, the U.S. adds over 1,000,000 new legal immigrants a year on average...

Comments:

Sounds good, but they coming across our southern border so fast we can’t continue to support them… Unskilled and illiterate, completely depending on taxpayers to sustain them… Biden said while campaigning that he would increase migration by 890%. And shut down the fossil fuel industry. Our Republican leaders refused to support Trump and some even voted for Biden. Now they act shocked and appalled at what he’s done.

Just rumor that the State would crack down on illegals was enough to cut arrests, school and medical costs, and unemployment when this was tried in Alabama. Here's your old news for the day. https://townhall.com/columnists/ginaloudon/2012/02/25/alabama-tackled-illegal-immigration-and-unemployment-started-dropping-n877291

LEGAL immigration is not the problem. For that matter, I am open to arguments that legal immigration should be made easier. The problem is immigration in violation of the law. Reducing legal immigration in an attempt to fix our problem with immigration is much like trying to fix our problem with gun violence with more gun regulation. The problem is not the people who are following the law, it is the people who are NOT following the law.

Legal immigration should not be used to keep professional salaries of AMERICANS in the basement. Highly trained engineers, registered nurses and physicians - yes physicians lose employment every year due to foreign workers.

The world's political and business elite will hobnob in Davos next week after a two-year break caused by Covid, with the Ukraine war set to dominate the exclusive Swiss mountain summit. The world has changed drastically since the last time the World Economic Forum took place in person at the ski resort in January 2020. At the time, US President Donald Trump and climate campaigner Greta Thunberg headlined the show and the coronavirus had yet to spread widely outside China. U.S. and Ukrainian attendees outnumber those coming from other leading nations, which includes just three from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany respectively.

The Berkeley Unified School District on Friday said the new mandate go into effect on Monday, citing the advice of health officials. "As you can see above, Dr. Hernandez has strongly recommended that the district use our authority to reinstate a mask mandate," district Superintendent Brent Stephens said about a message he received from city Health Officer Lisa Hernandez earlier in the week. "Because we are not a health agency, we must rely on these experts to guide us."

US President Joe Biden arrived in South Korea today, his first Asia trip as US leader, aiming to cement ties with regional security allies as concern over a North Korean nuclear test grows. Biden wants the trip to build on recent moves accelerating a years-long US pivot to Asia, where rising Chinese commercial and military power is undercutting Washington’s dominance. He received a warm welcome from South Korea’s new staunchly pro-US President Yoon Suk-yeol, who took office last week, but there is growing concern North Korea’s unpredictable leadership could conduct a nuclear test during Biden’s visit to the region. However, Biden embarrassed our country on the international stage yet again!

Who better to deal out such righteous justice than a United States Marine, who has had more than enough of people stealing his packages from his porch. I’m not saying he handled the situation in the most legal fashion, nor will I say this is the best way to deal with porch thieves. However, I will say that I’m glad he went about it the way he did because it’s hilarious.

The entire “Alzheimer’s moment” is just laughed off, and brushed aside as if it’s some normal, everyday occurrence.

The Biden administration privately acknowledged late last month that a mathematical error is delaying the federal government’s offshore oil and gas program. In an April 29 letter to industry leaders obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, the head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says that a subagency “discovered a miscalculation” that has caused a massive backlog in permitting. Richard Spinrad acknowledged in his letter that the National Marine Fisheries Service—the subagency tasked with analyzing the impact of offshore drilling projects on wildlife—has used faulty computer modeling on such impacts. As a result, Spinrad wrote, the subagency overestimated wildlife effects, delaying permitting on existing leases.
