Eleven Senate Republicans voted on Thursday to defy the Republican and Democrat establishment and oppose a $40 billion aid package to Ukraine. The Senate voted Thursday afternoon to approve H.R. 7691, the Ukraine Supplemental Aid Package, 86-11. Nearly the entire Senate voted for the gargantuan aid package to the embattled eastern European nation, and notably, only Republicans opposed the legislation to grant tens of billions of dollars in military and economic aid to Ukraine.

I wonder if there is blackmail of the Biden family involved in this $40B. Zelenskyy and the boys know quite a bit about those dirtbags.

So now we know who does not kiss up to the GOP and who does not take money laundered in Ukraine. Surprises who were missing in action: Ron Johnson (thankful for his strong stand on vaccines - he is one for two on crucial votes) John Kennedy (all hat and no cattle) Ted Cruz (all talk and no action) Most of the Rs were no surprise at all.

It was a safe vote to promote one's "conservative" or "America First" bonafides. Mitch and Chucky had the votes in spades. They understand the game better than anyone. Right now the US public (hearts) Ukraine. So the GOPe is on record on both sides of the issue, as needed for the upcoming elections.

McConnell gets on TV and calls Paul Ryan an isolationist because he was against the package. The thought that the package was full of nonsense and does nothing for the U.S. doesn't even cross McConnell's mind. It's more spending when the country doesn't have the money for a so called cause that has nothing to do with U.S. national interest.

When one looks at all the many groups and non-profits listen in the bill getting $$$$$$$$$$$ only about HALF actually goes to Ukraine. We don't have the money to do this, although we are concerned about the situation. We could build two or three border walls for OUR OWN national security!!! We spend four times that much in welfare EVERY YEAR to those invading our Southern Border--

We pray for God to expose to us the heart and true loyalties of our elected hovernment officials. God is answering those prayers at an amazing clip nearly every day. Here in West Texas, many of us were not surprised Cruz and Cornyn voted swamp. I was surprised about one of my favorites, Senator Kennedy and sadly, he has likely calculated he can humor his way out of paying any sort of price. There is no excuse, however. He caved to Deep State and Mitch pressure. This particular vote is a cut-and-dried exposing of who is who, which side are you on when push comes to shove. Thank you Senators Rand Paul and Loomis of Wyoming!! I am so very proud of both of you.

Having pop culture figures defect from one political party or ideology to another isn’t unheard of. We’ve seen other examples, including Ronald Reagan, Donald Trump, and the late Hollywood actor Ron Silver, all of whom were committed liberals before shifting to conservatism. But what we’re seeing in modern America is very different. In the past year, we’ve seen a noticeable change in the rhetoric from a variety of left and left-of-center public figures. Podcaster and UFC commentator Joe Rogan isn’t just a liberal, he endorsed self-proclaimed Democratic Socialist Bernie Sanders during the last election cycle.

How low can President Joe Biden go in the public’s estimation? Voters might be about to find out as he appears to be failing on every count. An NBC News poll released Sunday shows Biden’s job approval rating has plunged to a fresh low, with just 39 percent of Americans approving of the job he’s doing and 56 percent disapproving. Those numbers represents the lowest mark of his presidency. Inflation, the economy and border security are the three main areas where voters see Biden failing them. The overall cost of living is standing as the public’s top issue.

There are certain demographics that are critical for the success of Republicans and Democrats. For instance, if Republicans want to succeed at the ballot box they must do well with evangelical Christians and non-college-educated white men. If they perform poorly with those two groups, they’re going to have a rough time on Election Day. Similarly, Democrats rely on college-educated single white women, Hispanics, and black folks. If they lose significant ground in any of those identity groups, they’re likely going to be in trouble. The way things are looking right now, Democratic support has eroded considerably in not just one of those demographics, but two.

The Biden administration privately acknowledged late last month that a mathematical error is delaying the federal government’s offshore oil and gas program. In an April 29 letter to industry leaders obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation, the head of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says that a subagency “discovered a miscalculation” that has caused a massive backlog in permitting. Richard Spinrad acknowledged in his letter that the National Marine Fisheries Service—the subagency tasked with analyzing the impact of offshore drilling projects on wildlife—has used faulty computer modeling on such impacts. As a result, Spinrad wrote, the subagency overestimated wildlife effects, delaying permitting on existing leases.
