Thousands of daycare workers in Washington, D.C., are set to receive checks of at least $10,000 after the city council passed a measure reallocating tax dollars from the richest residents to those who work in childcare. The Council of the District Columbia on Tuesday voted unanimously to disburse the funds, available to any eligible childcare worker who applies for it. Workers will receive personal checks anywhere between $10,000 to $14,000, depending on their current position. In a new ABC News/Ipsos poll of U.S. adults, more than three-quarters of respondents said Biden should “consider all possible nominees” to replace retiring Justice Stephen Breyer, rather than “consider only nominees who are Black women, as he has pledged to do.” Even 54 percent of Democrats said they’d prefer Biden take the wide-net approach.

The U.S. federal prison system was placed on lockdown nationwide following a deadly incident at a Texas prison, officials said Monday.
“Multiple inmates were observed fighting at the United States Penitentiary Beaumont” in Texas, said the Federal Bureau of Prisons in a news release.
Prison staff then “immediately secured the area” but found inmate Guillermo Riojas and inmate Andrew Pineda with life-threatening injuries, prison officials said. They were transported to a nearby hospital, where they were both pronounced dead, the bureau said.

As a psychologist, I was invariably sympathetic with individuals who had gender dysphoria and/or became transgender, even though the latter was distasteful to me. Lawmakers in Concord Hampshire are proposing a bill that will allow pharmacists to dispense Ivermectin by means of standing orders.
“Standing order” means a written and signed protocol authored by one or more physicians licensed under RSA 329:12 or one or more advanced practice registered nurses licensed under RSA 326-B:18, the bill stated.
The bill is now in committee but is expected to go to a House vote in the coming weeks, WMUR reported.

A 37-year-old is on life support following a reaction to a Moderna booster shot which caused brain rupture and two cardiac arrests.
Om Prakash Mohapatra, whose wife is expecting a baby in February, has been fighting for his life since January 15th due to a severe reaction from his booster shot. The doctors are now suggesting to remove his life support.
According to a fundraiser page, Om was in perfect health till he received the booster shot. It started as nausea, deteriorated quickly, and turned into heart failure on the morning of Jan 15th.
