Five heartless thieves were busted for looting the ravaged homes of tornado victims in Kentucky, officials said.
The group of looters allegedly went to an area “particularly hit hard by the tornado” on Friday and ransacked the destroyed homes, according to Graves County Sheriff Jon Hayden.
Law enforcement officers from several agencies quickly converged on the group who were stopped while trying to flee the area with several damaged vehicles in tow.
The vehicles “were owned by tornado victims that have been displaced by the tornado, in the hospital, and/or deceased,” Hayden said.
When confronted by officers, group members gave contradicting stories with some claiming they had received permission to be there,

When Westminster United Methodist Church in Houston resumed in-person services late last year, after a seven-month halt due to COVID-19, there were Sundays when only three worshippers showed up, according to the pastor, Meredith Mills. Since then, attendance has inched back up, but it’s still only about half the pre-pandemic turnout of 160 or 170, Mills estimates.(Snip)Among mainline Protestants, just 1% said in a May 2020 poll that they were attending in-person services at least once a week. Two New York Times stories on Sunday portrayed the Republican Party as mired in extremism and partisanship, overwhelming supposedly non-ideological Democrats who just want to get vital things done. Jonathan Weisman’s year in review for Congress, “Congress Ends ‘Horrible Year’ With Divisions as Bitter as Ever,” began dramatically and didn’t let up in its painting of the Republican Party as uniquely irrational, perhaps even like a “cult”:
A congressional year that began with an assault on the seat of democracy ended at 4 a.m. Saturday with the failure of a narrow Democratic majority to deliver on its most cherished promises, leaving lawmakers in both parties wondering

Per a new report, the White House is preparing to surrender on COVID. What exactly the word “surrender” means in this context is up for some debate, but I’ve got some thoughts on the matter.
To get us there, though, the Biden administration is laying the groundwork to make the case for living with the coronavirus. That’s in stark contrast to the lofty promises Joe Biden made during the 2020 election, namely, that he’d “shut down the virus.” So is the administration actually surrendering to the virus itself? I wouldn’t say that because there was never any reality where we eradicated a virus that is clearly endemic and seasonal.

It’s the great Candy Cane Crisis of 2021.
Weakness in peppermint crops and COVID-caused logistical issues have created a problem for Big Candy.
“We only received half of our candy cane order for the holiday season and sold out almost immediately. We currently have zero in stock,” Mitchell Cohen, the owner of Economy Candy on the Lower East Side, told The Post. “Raw material and ingredient shortages globally have had quite an impact.”
It was a first for the store, which has been in business since 1937. Cohen said they sold more than 12,000 candy canes before running dry.
“Since candy canes were invented, we’ve had candy canes,” he said.

The small study compared 26 vaccinated staff at Oregon Health & Science University who had breakthrough infections to people who were vaccinated but never got the coronavirus. 'The increases were substantial, up to a 1,000 percent increase and sometimes up to 2,000 percent, so it's really high immunity,' said study author Fikadu Tafesse, a molecular microbiology and immunology professor at OHSU in Portland, Oregon. 'It's almost "super immunity."'

It is practical to consider that Donald Trump is a man created for combatting the Democrat party's progressive march toward totalitarian control of our country. Created for combat? Why is that the case?
Consider that Trump was a successful builder on the island of Manhattan in New York. Is succeeding as a builder of skyscrapers in New York City an easily accomplished feat? Are hundreds of successful builders among the millions that call New York home? Of course not. Roadblocks exist to keep the pretenders from participating in building big in New York.

Joe Biden doesn't want to build a border wall. We all know that he says as much and that he's been captured by the vast open borders industrial complex.
One problem for Joe, though: That dereliction of duty has driven his poll numbers straight into the toilet. His public approval is falling, with disapproval of his handling of the border crisis now at an all-time high. Longtime Democrat Hispanic strongholds in south Texas are now turning red, and the illegals are surging on in.

Not only was pre-Congress Schiff an unsuccessful screenwriter, but as a Congress-pronoun, Schiff has a proven track record of inventing implausible fiction that ends in failure.
If Schiff doesn’t write the script, he could at least market it, as he did with the Trump-Russia collusion lie. Arguably, no Democrat pushed the fictional Trump-Russia collusion narrative more vigorously than Adam Schiff.

Potheads who thought government legalization of pot would lead to heaven on earth forgot about one tiny detail: getting the government involved in anything either makes it more expensive or ruins it completely.
In the case of legal pot in California, it’s both.
Many pot smokers in California probably wish they were still buying from the cartels, given how expensive their marijuana has become. And with the dearth of legal pot shops in much of the state, potheads are bypassing the high taxes and spotty service in the existing stores to keep buying on the street.

With Biden’s growing age and declining faculties, and their party’s troubled state, not to mention Harris’ staff problems and low standing with voters, it is impossible to believe the president and vice president have never talked about 2024. As Schoen and his partner Carly Cooperman note, their new survey shows the Democratic prospects are “significantly deteriorating” and that the party is in an “increasingly unelectable and unsustainable position.”
What’s the reason for this, in the pollsters’ view? The “ill-fated path of embracing progressive policies while overlooking manifest political realities.” It’s for this reason,

In chess, a gambit is when a player sacrifices a piece, usually a pawn, early in a game to obtain some larger competitive advantage. We can now say that the 13 Republicans who voted in early November to pass the infrastructure bill pulled off one of the most effective political gambits in recent memory.
When Sen. Queen guitarist Brian May has revealed that he has tested positive for COVID-19. May, 74, said he and his wife, Anita Dobson, had been “incredibly careful” and had been acting “very hermit-like” throughout the pandemic, but decided to go out to a birthday lunch for a friend earlier this month where all guests provided negative COVID-19 tests. “It seemed like you were in a safe situation. White House chief medical adviser Anthony Fauci on Sunday said he does not believe we are ever going to reach a point where Americans won’t be required to wear masks on airplanes due to Covid-19 concerns.
ABC News This Week host Jonathan Karl asked Fauci about comments from several of the CEOs of top airlines that “you are actually safer than you are in an ICU” on a plane because of the filtration systems on flights. Karl asked if we will reach a point where we don’t have to wear masks on airplanes.
“I don’t think so,” Fauci said. “I think when you’re dealing with a close space,

Democrats, media pundits, and Hollywood stars threw tantrums on social media on Sunday after Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) told Fox News Sunday that he would not vote for President Joe Biden’s multi-trillion-dollar “Build Back Better” bill. Rolling Stone, for instance, published an article titled: “Joe Manchin Just Tore Out the Heart of Biden’s Agenda.” It went on to explain: “Build Back Better was the centerpiece of Biden’s domestic plans.” Now it is unlikely to pass the Senate.

The Leftist political and media elites are desperately afraid of Donald Trump, even more than they were when they relentlessly defamed him and tried to run him out of office with a hoax collusion conspiracy and a tempest in a teapot over a routine phone call. A Trump return to the White House on January 20, 2025, would represent a massive repudiation of those who have arrogated to themselves the authority to tell us what to think, and those self-appointed intellectual and moral superiors are doing everything they can think of to try to preserve their crumbling hegemony. More than three dozen American citizens and lawful residents, including an 11-month old boy, were rescued from Afghanistan through the help a civilian volunteer group.
The rescue of 39 on Friday, orchestrated by the Tampa-based Project DYNAMO, comes nearly four months after America's chaotic withdrawal from the Taliban-controlled nation in August, which left hundreds of Americans and allies behind. Sen. Joe Manchin, a conservative Democrat, said Sunday he won’t support the Biden administration’s “Build Back Better” plan. The decision could potentially shutter the $1.75 trillion social spending and climate policy bill. “If I can’t go home and explain it to the people West Virginia, I can’t vote for it. And I cannot vote to continue with this piece of legislation. I just can’t. I’ve tried everything humanly possible. In this installment of our weekly Sunday Six conversation, PF Whalen and Parker Beauregard of The Blue State Conservative loom back on six major news stories from 2021.
#6: The gubernatorial elections in Virginia and New Jersey.
PF: When it comes to news stories for this year, it seems to me there was a lot more bad than good; and I’m generally an optimistic person. It also marks the second year in a row that I’m making such an assessment. We’re in a rut. Yet while there wasn’t much to smile about this year, what happened in Virginia and New Jersey in early-November certainly qualifies.

The Wall Street holiday party circuit is a usually great place to have some laughs and pick up a few scoops. Not this year. The scoops are fewer than usual, as are the laughs, because COVID was supposed to be over and as we know, it’s not.

Joe Biden doesn't want to build a border wall. We all know that, he says as much, and he's been captured by the vast open borders industrial complex.
One problem for Joe, though: That dereliction of duty has driven his poll numbers straight into the toilet. His public approval is falling, with disapproval of his handing of the border crisis now at an all-time high. Longtime Democrat Hispanic strongholds in south Texas are now turning red, and the illegals are surging on in.
Amazingly, he doesn't seem to have the wherewithal to fix that problem.

One of the founding ideals of the United States was that the same system of laws would apply to everyone equally. Two people convicted of the same or similar offense, all things being equal, should receive approximately the same punishment. It doesn’t always work that way; wealth and fame do have a way of making crimes, like murder, go away, but those instances are anomalies. Over the last four years, though, things have started to come unglued.

As we approach the first anniversary of the deadly insurrection at the U.S. Capitol, we — all of us former senior military officials — are increasingly concerned about the aftermath of the 2024 presidential election and the potential for lethal chaos inside our military, which would put all Americans at severe risk.
In short: We are chilled to our bones at the thought of a coup succeeding next time.

Liberal Jewish outlets and the liberal media are charging Donald Trump with anti-Semitism, on the basis of his recent remarks to Israeli journalist Barak Raviv: (Snip) The line about “absolute power over Congress” is cringeworthy. Yes, it is an anti-Semitic trope. Trump fits the canonical definition of a philo-Semite (an anti-Semite who likes Jews). He harbors some anti-Semitic prejudices about the extent of Jewish power. But he’s still a friend of the Jewish people and of the State of Israel. Before the 2016 election, an Israeli politician asked me what I thought of Trump (full disclosure: I worked for Ted Cruz in 2016). I said,

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem (R) has advanced a bill in the state legislature that would codify her executive orders limiting transgender athletes to competing only in categories that correspond to their birth gender.
Noem filed the bill on Tuesday to limit K-12 girl’s school sports and state-funded colleges to allowing only natural-born girls to compete in girl’s categories, according to the Argus Leader.
The governor issued her two executive orders in March after the legislature rejected her revisions of House Bill 1217.

If you had any doubt that California’s present shortage of available water for farming in the Central Valley is a political not a climate problem, Anthony Watts will disabuse you of the notion.
If you’ve any doubt that the this administration puts the desires of the crazy greens over the public interest, the Wall Street Journal’s editorial board puts that to rest.
California’s Historic Flood-Drought Weather
Per Watts, since 1861, before the industrial revolution, California has recorded periods of heavy rainfall and truly massive floods which more water storage could mitigate. On the “flip side,” the state has had long periods of drought which can be dated from 800 A.D.

Ericksen, a Ferndale Republican, reached out to Republican colleagues last month saying he had taken a trip to El Salvador and tested positive for COVID-19 shortly after he arrived. Reasons for his visit were unclear.

President Joe Biden on Saturday announced a list of his 2021 accomplishments amid 40-year high inflation, the southern border and supply chain crises, and Americans stranded in Afghanistan.
1.) Biden first touted vaccine distribution. Though the 2020 Biden campaign cast doubt on President Trump’s vaccination development program, Operation Warp Speed, Biden named his top success in 2021 as fully vaccinating 71 million Americans, Axios first reported.
Biden highlighted the fact that in December of 2020, only one percent of Americans had been jabbed
