New Orleans - The National Weather Service has confirmed a 'large and extremely dangerous' tornado formed over parts of St. Bernard Parish on Tuesday morning.
Forecasters say the tornado was confirmed around 7:32 p.m. near the Arabi and Chalmette area. Video captured from a WWL-TV viewer captured a tornado moving through the area at the same time. Entergy Louisiana reports that nearly 4,000 customers were without power in St. Bernard Parish as of 8:20 p.m. All of Arabi and some parts of Chalmette are without power.
There are early reports surfacing on social media of significant damage to homes in that area.

Alcohol-related deaths increased 25 percent from 2019 to 2020, with alcohol-related deaths among adults younger than 65 outnumbering deaths from Covid-19 in the same age group in 2020, a new study found.
Alcohol-related deaths, including from liver disease and accidents, increased to 99,017 in 2020, up from 78,927 the year prior, according to the study performed by researchers with the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, a division of the National Institutes of Health.

Pentagon press secretary John Kirby said Tuesday that there is "clear evidence" that the Russian military is conducting war crimes in its invasion of Ukraine.

Trejean D. Curry, 26, of Minneapolis, was charged in Dakota County District Court last week with criminal vehicular homicide in connection with the collision on Oct. 25 in Rosemount that killed the Rev. Dennis Dempsey, who came to the Risen Savior Roman Catholic Church in Burnsville just three months earlier.
Dempsey, 73, was struck from behind by Curry while both were heading west on County Road 42 near W. 145th Street. Dempsey died at the scene.

Big tornadoes tore through a lot of Texas on Monday. I was in the Fort Worth area and while I wasn’t hit by the tornado, I did get the accompanying storm with the sky turning dark, a lot of loud wind, and hail.
