You have to hand it to Rep. Maxine Waters (D-CA). She somehow seems to know exactly the wrong thing to say at any given point. She has a long history of controversial comments, perhaps most infamously when she encouraged people to get up in the face of Trump officials and “push back.”But she stepped in it, big time, recently in an encounter with homeless people in Los Angeles. Then she made it even worse with an attempt to cover up her response.

President Joe Biden was babbling dangerously during his recent trip to Poland to shore up the NATO alliance against Russia’s murderous invasion of Ukraine. And as he babbled and babbled, his White House staff poured sawdust on the puddles and tried cleaning it up again and again.

Sen. Susan Collins said Tuesday she would vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, the only Republican senator to do so so far.
Collins, in an interview with The New York Times Tuesday, said that after a second, 90-minute interview with Jackson, she was assured that Jackson met her standards for serving on the nation’s highest court. If all Democrats also vote yes, Jackson would become the first Black woman on the court, fulfilling a promise made by Pres. Biden to nominate a Black woman to the court.
