The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new injectable drug that can prevent HIV if given to patients every two months. GaxoSmithKline's cabotegravir drug—which is being marketed under the name Apretude—was approved by the FDA on Monday, as an alternative to pills currently given to vulnerable groups to prevent them contracting the virus that can cause AIDS. Its first two doses are administered one month apart and then the injection is given every two months thereafter.(Snip) Apertude will begin shipping to the US in early 2022 at the listing price of $3,700 per dose.
It doesn’t add up. Omicron’s distinguishing features are that it spreads fast and that the entire population is vulnerable to catching it. San Diego – A judge ruled against the San Diego Unified School District Monday in a lawsuit challenging its vaccine mandate for students.
San Diego Superior Court Judge John Meyer said the district’s mandate, which does not permit religious or personal belief exemptions, contradicts state law, because implementing such mandates without exemptions can only be imposed by the state legislature.
Meyer also said that while students are required to receive some vaccinations in order to attend in-person school, adding COVID-19 to the list of required vaccinations without allowing personal belief exemptions is another area that lies only with the state.

Retired Las Vegas Police officer Robert Gutierrez told police he punched a postal worker and officers told Gutierrez they didn’t think him punching a federal employee would be an issue.
The surveillance video showed Gutierrez walk up to the mail carrier while he was standing near a U.S. Postal Service vehicle parked along a curb in the 500 block of Sun Drive. When the carrier stepped onto the sidewalk, Gutierrez appeared to punch the man in the face, according to the complaint.
