Kyle Rittenhouse was met with standing ovation and deafening cheers as he took the firework-filled stage at the Turning Point USA conference in Phoenix on Monday. The 18-year-old waved to his adoring audience as he strutted onto the huge stage at the event on Monday night for a panel discussion on the 2020 Kenosha shootings which saw him kill two protesters last year. Lavish pyrotechnics signaled Rittenhouse's arrival, with loud rock music playing and deafening cheers erupting from the thousands of young conservatives who'd paid to see him, and who got on their feet to signal their approval.

Sorry but I don’t consider Rittenhouse a rock star. This is being overplayed. I do think he is innocent but he’s no hero. He should have never been at the riot to begin with.

Excellent. He was a polite young man, smiling in the face of a pretend native American attacking him. He did nothing wrong and yes, he should be treated like a rock star. As for the 'riot' - there was none.

Press on, but don't let all that turn your head.

I also feel like Kyle did nothing wrong. Those who 'should' have been at the riot - the police - decided not to attend. Because of that, good men like Kyle stepped up to fill the void.

He should lay off the public appearance. Unseemly.

poster #2, you're thinking of Nick Sandman, Kyle Rittenhouse is the young man who was attacked during a riot and had to defend himself against convicted criminals, one a pedophile and another a man convicted of domestic abuse several times.

Rittenhouse is the only person in the nation that has fought back. A 17 year old kicked their butt.

Kyle is a hero. He had every right to be at the "mostly peaceful" riot. He was there to help. I guess some posters would prefer to hide under the bed while our country is burned and looted to the ground. Kyle IS a rock star!

We celebrate his victory over a corrupt justice stystem. The rioters he defended himself from, are nothing.
We're not celebrating a killer - though those visious attackers brought it on themselves - we are celebrating the faint gleaming hope that justice stil lives in America.

Two democrat peaceful protester are dead and one has to learn to wipe himself left-handed thank you Kyle.

That didn’t look like “strutting’ to me. The DM has to get in their nasty little digs whenever they can.

#1 There were a lot of people who shouldn't have been there. Kyle was there to protect, not destroy. He was basically there doing the job we pay the police to do. The only mistake Kyle Rittenhouse did was he didn't kill more of the clowns destroying the city.

I'm sure every parent would encourage their young son to pick up an AR-15 and drive up the road to patriotically defend a couple of used car lots from rioters with a few other patriots. Rittenhouse was foolish. He was lucky he isn't maimed or dead. For what? A few used cars being peddled by rug-merchants? But then, baggers at the supermarket were termed heroic for defying COVID, too. And now Rittenhouse does the circuit...for free, I'm sure.

Greetings from Kenosha., and yes, I was here before, during, and after the riots.
Rittenhouse may have been foolish but he was the only person who even attempted to stand up to the mob. Our mayor was in hiding somewhere. Our idiot Governor Tony Evers did nothing but send a handful of National Guardsmen who weren't allowed to do anything except stand around and watch. He also refused the offer of Fed troops from Trump, because Orange Man Bad or something. In short - NOBODY was in charge, and the rioters had free rein - just like in Portland.
That changed real suddenly after Rittenhouse shot those thugs. Suddenly Evers thought it was OK to let Feds come in after all, and everything simmered down within a couple of days.
When all the adults abdicated their responsibilities, the 17-year-old with the rifle stood up and took charge.

Hate to disagree, #16, but Rittenhouse didn't take charge. He precipitated an event that forced action by the politicians. Were the used car brothers out there armed and ready to defend their business? Um, no. Few others were. When the time came to testify they did the old denial of any involvement, as rug merchants do. Had Rittenhouse missed Grosskreutz, things would have been very different, including the narrative of the entire affair...and the kid would likely be dead...self-defense by the pistol-packing felon, with a few kicks to the head for good measure. (Think Kenosha County's DA would have charged Grosskreutz?)
