Did 'Trumpism' Originate with a Democrat?

Original Article

Since the 45th president first leapt from the world of business and media into politics, pundits have speculated endlessly about the origin of his populism. To the 21st century reporter and even casual observer, Trump’s aggressive and bombastic tribunesque populism appeared to come out of nowhere. Critics looked quickly at foreign political examples, such as Mussolini or Hitler, conflating the use of personal political charisma with the worst who ever employed it. But perhaps the real role model came from closer to home. About the same time that Donald Trump emerged to impose his will on the real estate market in New York City,

President Trump became so popular because he told the truth and explained to Americans...this is how to fix the swamp....he saw the corruption and tried to clean it up...as to his origin...does it matter?...he was sent by God to shake up Washington...and indeed he did...even today they fight him with the media and self/loathing democrats who know their time is limited....

Blustering populism is as old as politics. Donald J. Trump was a well-known television celebrity in 2016. Had he been Donald Trump muti-millionaire developer he'd have gone nowhere with the same platform and style. We've all seen it before...and he would have been written off as an NYC jerk wannabe, with the few leftover Perot-istas supporting him. Trump's genius is he well understood celebrity. He was bigger than the pipsqueaks who tried to bring him down with all sorts of charges, from "collusion" and whoring to rape and profiteering from his office. Celebrity kept PDT going at each turn, reinforced by Dem/UNIPARTY stupidity. They shut him down legislatively by tossing the House and Senate to the Dems. They finally ran him out of office with the '20 selection. And now they fear the game isn't over. I see BOR(e) is predicting Trump will certainly run in '24. I hope not. He needs to find and promote a sympatico successor. Perhaps DeSantis. And get out of his way while supporting his candidacy. (If history repeats, look to Teddy Roosevelt and William H. Taft.)

I agree with #6. Trump knows “celebrity.” But he was also the real deal conservative. Of course he had to work within the landscape. I had passing thoughts that he should not run again. But the deep state machine- formerly known as The Establishment- will just do the same thing to the next guy. And Trump IS getting the falsehoods PROVED to be false, eg, Russian collusion; maybe there’s some chance even The Gullibles will see some semblance of how they are being conned. I think we need some modicum of accountability for russiagate and to prove what the dims did January 6. Those are really Trump’s battles. I think he knows that he has to correct the dims’ narrative and set the record straight.

Less than one year since he assumed office, Joe Biden has managed to turn his presidency into a deeply unpopular monarchy. No longer is he the genial but generally harmless buffoon who entertained most of us while he was in Congress with his mispronunciations, misquotes, and embellished tales of dubious authenticity. As a result of the 2020 presidential election that was, at best, questionable, Biden was elevated well past his ability, and he proceeded to wreck virtually everything he touched as leader of the free world. On his first day in office, via executive order, Biden closed the Keystone pipeline for no other reason

Government is a most discouraging aspect of existence because it is a pervasive given. In the hearts of 99 percent of readers is the desire to be left alone by government. My daughter-in-law started a small charity venture several years ago, and it has grown wildly. She was originally of a liberal bent but now sees government negatively intruding into her efforts. She may not be on board the Trump train, but she has jumped over to the libertarian track. She wants government to leave her alone, but no! Even charitable ventures must come with their own gift wrapping of red tape.

While ancillary issues like cancel culture and critical race theory further the divide between Democratic elites and American voters—and, indeed, electability—the top issue in 2022 has always been and will continue to be the economy. Pocketbook issues always matter most, especially now and regardless of the daily social media cycle. On that score, President Biden has every reason to be concerned. Even Democrats can’t paint a rosy picture for 2022, hence the likes of NPR predicting a “red wave.” You don’t have to be a Republican to see it. Just crunch the numbers: U.S. inflation recently surged to a nearly 40-year high, rising 6.8 percent from a year ago—

Two Kentucky infants remarkably survived being picked up by a tornado while sheltering inside a bathtub, according to their grandmother. Clara Lutz, the babies' grandmother, said she placed 3-month-old Dallas and 15-month-old Kaden inside the tub with a blanket and a bible on Friday during a tornado warning. "Next thing I knew, the tub had lifted and it was out of my hands," Lutz explained to WFIE-TV. "I couldn’t hold on. I just – oh my God." Lutz was reportedly struck in the back of the head by a water tank during the storm. She searched frantically through the rubble of her house for the children after the storm had passed.

Just before 10 a.m., cars begin pulling into the parking lot of the Country Thrift Market, a sprawling former grocery store 40 miles from Pittsburgh. Normally, folks in the area shop for gently used clothing, toys and deeply discounted home goods here. But today is different because Santa Claus is on site along with free cookies, provisions, frozen turkeys and hundreds of brand-new winter coats in every child's size. Most of the cars and trucks that pull in have seen better days, but the children inside them look excited, seemingly unaware they are in need of charity. The families at this event never stopped working during the pandemic, said Justin McAtee,

The electric car revolution will stall in the West if supplies of crucial battery elements like lithium fail to keep up with the forecast huge increase in demand. As with most manufacturing and industry, China currently dominates the battery processing market too, and it is responsible for about 80% of global battery chemical refining capacity. A possibly overlooked supply problem by the Biden administration especially considering President Biden just outlined a plan for 50% of new car purchases to be zero-emissions by 2030. Lithium is a mineral that is key for electric car batteries. The pricing for it continues to rise in price,

Are you better off than you were one year ago? That’s the message the White House is trying to convey in a year-end memo to Democratic lawmakers and other supporters, according to a new report from Axios. The memo — titled “2021: POTUS Delivered for Working Families” — illustrates in words and graphics what the Biden administration describes as a year of accomplishments, according to the outlet. The two-page document touts the COVID-19 vaccination program, the widespread reopening of schools, and a decline in the unemployment rate and jobless claims. It also hails the passage of two major spending bills this year: the $1.9 trillion American Rescue Plan in March

One of the most notable failures of Team Brandon has been the backup of the LA port and the snarling of America’s supply chains. When inflation and supply chain issues first became major issues a few months ago, Americans saw image after image of ships sitting off the California coast, waiting to unload. Since then, the shipping issue has largely faded from the public consciousness. Brandon himself declared victory, most outlets have stopped covering it, and regime media blames inflation on the “greed” of corporations rather than supply chain mismanagement. But the problem, despite being forgotten by many, is far from over. In fact, it’s still so bad that Halloween costumes

Elections matter. It shows in the sometimes not so subtle changes that surface unintended consequences. The shift to the left with President Joe Biden taking office and both houses of Congress narrowly in control by the Democrats is impacting our country in a profoundly negative way. The takers in our society are emboldened and are grabbing at all they can get. In metropolitan areas, we are seeing well organized mobs storming high-end stores, grabbing merchandise, fleeing, and openly selling their stolen goods. In Washington and state capitols, the progressive takers are demanding more and more free services and subsidies.

West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin took to Fox News yesterday to let the White House know he was a big no on “Build Back Better.” Build Back Better is the profligate spending bill designed by Biden’s handlers to both bankrupt America and impose socialism, not surprisingly this bill is also the centerpiece of Biden’s domestic agenda. If you aren’t white, you may not be able to go way outside. At least, that appears to be the belief of a North Carolina State University professor. KangJae “Jerry” Lee — of the school’s College of Natural Resources — recognizes the racism keeping you from enjoying the great outdoors. Cultural differences, he asserts, can’t explain why there aren’t more black people fishing, hunting, and hiking. Also an insufficient excuse: income disparity. The instructor laments America’s adventure/nature gap, but he’s bulls-eyed the culprit: systemic racism. Wichita’s KAKE recently jawed it up with Jerry on the lack of outdoor equity.
