Credit President Joe Biden with not hitting the panic button in his speech on the Omicron wave — but that’s about it.
The prez rightly noted this isn’t March 2020, and no new lockdowns should be necessary. But that was the closest he came to anything original.
And it serves his interests: Declaring a new crisis would highlight how badly he’s failed on his 2020 vow to “shut down the virus.” It’s now clear that he thought then that all he’d need to do was continue distributing the vaccines developed before he took office, that’s it. (Hence his declaration in July that we’d achieved “independence from COVID-19” because vaccinations were going well.)

Flying cars are still the stuff of Jetsonian dreams, but self-driving cars are already here. But these semi-autonomous vehicles come with a host of issues. For instance, they must be able to deal with the erratic driving behaviors of humans, as well as unexpected obstacles on the road, such as a wild deer crossing the highway. But a critical though lesser discussed problem associated with self-driving cars involves surveillance. These vehicles look likely to be used as surveillance tools, closely monitoring our every move. Worse still, China, a country that has expanded mass surveillance and integrated it into every part of Chinese life, is leading the self-driving revolution.

Around the United States, in numerous cases, hospitalized COVID-19 patients have asked for Ivermectin but were denied the drug, and then sought a court order forcing the hospital to provide the requested medication. Ivermectin, which has been used safely in humans since 1985, has shown promise in treating the virus, especially when taken early. Although it is an off-label use and not guaranteed to work every time, it is legal for doctors to prescribe Ivermectin for COVID-19, and many patients, some desperate and dying, want to give it a try.
Why are so many hospitals opposed to trying safe, inexpensive Ivermectin? (snip)

Ashley Biden’s diary is the subject of a criminal investigation by federal authorities. The content and text of the diary were published by a conservative news site before the 2020 presidential election, but it didn’t get much attention until now.
Now the New York Times is accusing a woman named Aimee Harris of being the person who gave it to Project Veritas, which is under investigation for its role in acquiring the diary.(snip)You can read that original report here. The pages can be found in full at that site here.

With smash and grabs raging across the country, prosecutors have struggled to assure the public that they are cracking down on the crime wave and using every possible means to deter the organized thefts.(snip)

Anthony Fauci, the nation’s top infectious disease expert, on Tuesday called on Fox News to fire host Jesse Watters for targeting him with violent rhetoric at a conservative conference earlier this week.
“That’s awful that he said that. And he’s going to go, very likely, unaccountable,” Fauci told CNN of Watters’ remarks. “I mean, whatever network he’s on is not going to do anything for him. I mean, that’s crazy. The guy should be fired on the spot.”
Speaking on Monday at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest conference, Watters encouraged attendees to rhetorically “ambush” Fauci with dubious questions about the National Institutes of Health allegedly funding “gain-of-function”

A recent Wall Street Journal poll reported that if the 2022 midterms were held currently, some 37 percent of Hispanic/Latino voters would likely support the Republican candidate. An equal number polled support for the Democrats.
Perhaps key is the 22 percent who remain “undecided” and thereby illustrate that the traditionally Democratic Hispanic vote is now up for grabs.

Wall Street Journal polls also showed that in a potential (but probably unlikely) 2024 match-up between Biden and Trump, Hispanic voters would split about evenly (44 percent Biden, 43 percent Trump). Are Hispanics then following the trajectory of middle-class whites who have left the Democratic Party in droves and

A crowd of more than 100 people rallied outside the office of Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich in Phoenix on Dec. 17 to demand the prosecution of any criminal activity associated with the 2020 election in Maricopa County.
A contingent of police offers kept people off the front steps of the Attorney General’s office building except for event organizers and speakers.
Those gathered called out not only for fair and honest elections but that Brnovich begin criminal prosecutions for alleged wrongdoing stemming from the 2020 election in Maricopa County, Arizona’s most populous county with over 2.5 million registered voters.

For the first time amid the pandemic, the U.S. government compensation program will pay out one of the 4,751 claims alleging injuries or death arising from the administration of a covered countermeasure used to diagnose, treat, or prevent COVID-19.
Countermeasures may include emergency authorized or federally approved vaccines, drugs, and medical devices that the Food and Drug Administration allows for use during a public health emergency.

Brian Cornell is the CEO of Target. They pay him $20 million a year. He is an idiot who canceled Christmas (or tried to) for hundreds of kids in Florida.
For many years, Target partnered with local police to “Shop with a Cop” for Christmas. These are poor kids who may not get much from Santa.
Cornell canceled that this year.
In Florida, Flagler County Sheriff Rick Staly sent Cornell a letter, and W4GVL posted it. The site is an apolitical Florida Gators fan site, so you can see Cornell struck a nerve. Hard.
