Pope Francis continues his war on the traditional celebration of the Sacraments. This morning, a week before Christmas, the Congregation for Divine Worship (CDW) issued Responses to 11 “Dubia” (so the Vatican can answer dubia!) concerning the implementation of Traditionis Custodes, the pope’s July motu proprio that sought to restrict the traditional Latin Mass and traditional forms of the other Sacraments.
These new directives are startling in their reach: they eliminate traditional confirmations and ordinations, forbid a priest from celebrating both a Novus Ordo Mass and traditional Latin Mass on the same weekday, and require even TLM-only priests like those of the FSSP to concelebrate a Novus Ordo Mass.

This pope's job is to destroy The Church from within. He's working furiously at it.

In Archbishop Vigano's powerful Christmas Letter to the people of the United States (in yesterday's Gateway Pundit and here today in Thomas Lifson's article in American Thinker), the Archbishop refers to Pope Francis as Bergoglio. The Archbishop is a diplomat, and if he has no qualms about addressing the Pope in this fashion, then neither will I. Obviously, Bergoglio has a different agenda than Christ.

As a Lutheran, I could care less what the Pope says or does! Sola Scriptures! Salvation by faith alone and not of works lest any man boast!

Just one more addition to the list of reasons why I haven’t attended mass in 2 years.

Although I love the Latin Mass and don't agree with the Pope's decision, these people ready to tear Francis limb from limb over it are making his point. Which liturgy is offered is not, actually, life or death, salvation or hell. But the Holy Father's witness on abortion, that is, and you are weakening it, and weakening the Church, and strewing what division you can. Reading these comments, I can see his point. You want reverence at Mass but you talk like this? Getouttahere. You want dignity, beauty, respect? Just at those set times?

Heh, heh, #4 . . . funny thing is that 'sola Scriptura' is not found anywhere in Scripture.
Another funny thing is that Scripture also says faith without works is a dead faith. See James 2:14-26 for detail.
And #5, come on. You know the Eucharist is the whole point of Mass. The man who administers it is just a man, as are his upper level managers. Stop starving yourself of the Living Bread to spite sinful men. It makes satan smile because he knows his plot worked.

I attended Mass as a teenager with a Catholic friend. My initial rather shallow reason for going was that she was very cute and I wanted to date her. I found the THL majestic and beautiful. Obviously, the new Mass has not drawn more to become Catholics. Just the opposite in my opinion. I have no dog in this fight other than my fondness for tradition, but it seems to me that the Church needs another Martin Luther.

Comrade, Pope Francis, will soon be demanding self criticism sessions to replace traditional masses. It won't be long before the Pope sports a red ascot scarf in place of a his white beanie skull cap. I once had a union boss who wore a small signet ring embossed with a tiny hammer and sickle, hard to see but visible in a very bright light. A second look at the Pope's ring might be in order.

Why are Catholics tolerating the pretender named Francis as their pope?
Any so-called Pope who would allow pagan fertility deities to be venerated on Vatican grounds, as did Pope Francis last year, is a willing accomplice of satan, not a bond slave of Jesus Christ.
To be clear, Francis can believe whatever he likes...but he does not have the right to revise Jesus' own words: "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father but through Me."

As a Catholic, I would like to bring something to the attention of LDotters. Back in 2016, three groups of theologians--one of these groups consisted of four cardinals--requested clarification on Amoris Laetitia, a document published by Pope Francis. These three groups saw serious problems with the pope's statements regarding marriage. The pope did not answer any of these groups. People offered excuses--even a close friend of mine, Grrrrrr!!!, said the pope did not have to answer their questions--for why the pope did not answer. It nearly seemed that the pope simply ignored questions posed to him. Oh, but that is NOT the case! He chose to answer questions proposed to him--seeking clarification--about his most recent document Traditiones Custodis. Time has shown that Francis is selective about who he decides to provide clarification to. This is what Sammons is alluding to when he writes, "the Vatican can answer dubia!" The passage of time is showing who this pontiff really is. And the double standards are glaring!!
