The producers of Broadway’s “Jagged Little Pill” said Monday that they decided to shut down the musical amid the latest COVID-19 surge. “In light of the extreme uncertainty ahead of us this winter, and forced to choose between continuing performances and protecting our company, we’ve made the difficult decision to close our doors,” producers Vivek Tiwary, Arvind Ethan David and Eva Price said in a statement. The show had been suspended on Thursday after “multiple” members of the cast and crew tested positive for coronavirus.(Snip)Several other Broadway hits have suspended operations throughout December due to positive cases, including “Wicked,” “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” and

Comments:

Everyone involved in the production is fully vaxxed, as is the audience, and yet they still got the 'rona. The shots don't work but people are too arrogantly stupid to realize they've been cheated. Could a contributing factor be that tourist traffic is down because of the vaccine mandates and the threat of being assaulted at random by street Africans? Either way, wait for another federal bailout for the Gay White Way.

The top shows on Broadway are titled; “Jagged Little Pill”, “Wicked", “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" and “Ain’t Too Proud". Inspiring titles for our Brave New World. When I was growing up the big shows had titles such as; "Camelot", "Seven Brides for Seven Brothers", "The Music Man" and "Kiss Me Kate". Themes that were life affirming and ennobling. I've got a feeling this is an instance of enemies falling into their own traps and God gets to clean the muck from the stage. The lights have gone out on Broadway. Hurray!

The people who choose vaccination think they can now assume pre-covid lives. Yet, nothing has been done to ensure the cleanliness and safety of people. People and businesses should be implementing steps that will promote clean and safe environments. I firmly believe that vaccinated people think they can skip those steps and it could be for various reasons. Cost and time are two that come to mind. All I know is that I am taking a step back and not being pressured into something out of my comfort zone.

Shut down shows means increased unemployment for the city. Not just actors, but theater stage staff, technical, costume, makeup, hair, ushers, ticket sales, and everyone else involved in the show. Don't forget all of the already struggling restaurants that served before and after show dinners/desserts to theater patrons. Taxis, limos, Uber, and other transportation is also effected. Hotels too. All because people are forced to, and are conditioned to, panic about what has now mutated to nothing more than a common cold.

A group promoting LGBTQ clergy in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America has suspended its first transgender bishop over allegations of “racist words and actions” involving the bishop’s church area and the “Latinx community” in Stockton, California. Extraordinary Lutheran Ministries said its board decided Dec. 16 “to suspend” Bishop Megan Rohrer’s membership “in the ELM Proclaim community and events.” The Proclaim program is, ELM says, “the professional community for Lutheran ministers and candidates, who publicly identify as queer.” Bishop Rohrer was installed three months ago as leader of the church’s Sierra Pacific Synod. ELM said Bishop Rohrer exhibited “an existing pattern of behavior” that doesn’t fit with its goal

Two years into the COVID-19 pandemic—and 11 months and a day since he took office—President Biden insisted, “I don’t think anybody anticipated” the dramatic surge in the more infectious Omicron variant amid criticism of his response as lagging. “It all started all of a sudden,” Biden claimed Tuesday when pressed by reporters on his administration’s sluggish response to nationwide coronavirus testing shortages. But moments later, Biden contradicted that claim, saying he did foresee the looming test shortage and that he had been working on a still-vague plan to distribute 500 million rapid tests to Americans by mail. “I knew that was coming,” he followed up

The woke mayor announced at a news conference in Garfield Park on Monday that she made a formal request to Garland to send ATF agents to Chicago for six months, a well as more federal prosecutors and federal marshals to help get illegal guns off the streets. This comes after the democrat proposed slashing $80 million from the Chicago Police Department budget in 2020 during 'defund the police' protests.

More than half of vaccinated adults who haven’t gotten a COVID-19 booster shot say the omicron threat makes them more likely to go get an extra dose, according to a poll released Tuesday that found the variant is having a smaller impact on unvaccinated persons mulling a first dose. The Kaiser Family Foundation found that 54% of vaccinated adults said the fast-moving strain is pushing them toward getting a booster versus 46% who said it doesn’t have an impact on their decision. “Omicron’s emergence appears to be having a much smaller, but not insignificant, effect on unvaccinated adults,” with 12% of unvaccinated persons saying they are more likely

Authorities in Qatar have seized a line of what they called 'un-Islamic' children's toys that feature rainbow patterns similar to LGBT flags. The small oil-rich peninsular will host next year's football World Cup, and despite repeated assertions by authorities that anyone will be welcome to visit for the tournament, homosexuality remains illegal in the conservative Muslim emirate. The line of rainbow coloured children's toys were confiscated from stores, with officials saying they were contrary to 'Islamic values'.
