The iconic voice of Rush Limbaugh no longer graces the airwaves, but the broadcaster’s legacy lives on in a new book by his longtime sidekick. James Golden, known on air as “Bo Snerdley,” spoke to The Daily Signal about the man he worked alongside for 30 years. Golden recently published a book about Limbaugh, “Rush on the Radio: A Tribute from His Sidekick for 30 Years.” Golden, who served as Limbaugh’s call screener, recounted, “You had people that depended on him to help guide them through when they were feeling badly about where the country was at a particular moment.

Comments:

Here's a good interview, with a lot about Rush's private persona his great generosity, and moments with his staff. I still miss Rush, especially when I hear any other talk show host.

Thanks for the info #5, I will check his show out, but I wonder why Golden was not chosen for Rush's replacement? Travis and Sexton are ok, but not so much of the panache and style of their predecessor. They're national, but sound no different than any local, minor league yakker. I've only heard Golden in interviews after Rush, and instantly drawn to his voice and words. Was he ever considered as Rush's follow up?

James would have been great. Now I feel like I'm listening to two men have a conversation with each other and I get to listen. (Buck, if you have to constantly complain about life in NYC, MOVE!) I live in Ken Matthews area. There was an announcement about a national radio program for him.

I listened to Rush most days from the first to the last national broadcast days. He was one of a kind. All these wannabes on both sides of the aisle do not understand why he was so unique- Ideology is of course important, and his great sense of humor in skewering smug leftists was vital-but the key to Rush was simple and he talked about it everyday- 'Highly-Trained Broadcast Professional'.

The Clay and Buck guys aren't bad. Problem is, following a legend is always tough. But, they have the plus of the access to the Rush treasure trove. Would be great to get that "white comedian," Paul Shanklin, or another artist aboard for some new parody songs. Gosh, there's a wealth of material! Dan Bongino is doing pretty well, and Bo Snerdly/James Golden would have been a good show as well. The really best choice to replace Rush would have been Mark Steyn, but I understand after his mess with Blaze TV, he wasn't terribly interested in working for someone else and only did the Limbaugh show as a personal request by Rush. I miss his appearances on FOX (Tucker Carlson), but it sounds like he is doing a show in Great Britain.

I was attracted to Rush from the start for two reasons: He was unique in being in the media and being a conservative. Really stood out and spoke for all of us who were (and are) being gaslighted. Secondly, he would take on all comers. He gave extra time for the liberals to call and talk and he would give them enough rope. He was polite and listened... asked questions. He lost some of that with his hearing and age but, by then, I was hooked.

I too miss Rush, mornings are not the same any more. Our local radio, now a CBS affiliate, for some inane reason chose Hugh Hewitt to replace Rush' show time. Bad mistake, awful voice like a vegetable grater and mind scattered all over the spectrum. Bo would have been far better and would have kept the Rush principles in people's minds. So glad he has written this book.

I'm not a regular podcast person, but James Golden's 12-part series of persons who were involved behind the scenes with Rush was FANTASTIC and well worth the time to find and listen to them. I'm not sure there will ever be closure for the loss of Rush-- he was a remarkable man with a brash radio persona, but was a very normal person in real life and extremely generous. He really mellowed out after marrying Kathryn, and many of the fun and outrageous song parodies sort of faded away, and I greived his loss like a close member of my family was gone. With great respect to Paul Harvey, he truly was the Greatest Radio Personality of All Time by many metrics of measurement and influence.

A seasoned stock analyst colleague texted me a link today, and when I clicked it open, I could hardly believe what I was reading. What a headline. “Indiana life insurance CEO says deaths are up 40% among people ages 18-64”. This headline is a nuclear truth bomb masquerading as an insurance agent’s dry manila envelope full of actuarial tables. People frequently write to Jill and myself. People we have never met. (Snip) Many want to tell us about their fear, illness, nightmares, or (what often seems like) outright paranoid conspiracies. In June 2020, as the country attempted to recover from deadly and destructive riots after the death of George Floyd, a man from Wisconsin hosted a national conference of self-styled “militia” members in a suburban Columbus, Ohio hotel. Stephen Robeson, founder of the Wisconsin chapter of the Three Percenters, an alleged militia group on the FBI’s naughty list, pestered his contacts across the country to participate in the gathering. People who attended the conference, including two men later charged with federal crimes related to a plot to abduct Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer from her vacation cottage in 2020, observed that the hotel was crawling with federal agents.

A doctor in Maryland said he had to cancel potentially life-saving monoclonal antibody infusions for about 250 people over the last week after the federal government stopped distributing treatments made by Regeneron and Eli Lilly because they aren't effective against omicron, even though the delta variant, which the drugs are effective at treating, was still dominant at the time. The Office of the Assistant Secretary for Preparedness and Response halted the allocation of those two antibody treatments last Thursday amid the rise of omicron, which the CDC had said days earlier was responsible for 73.2% of all new cases. But the CDC backtracked on that alarming estimate this week

Apart from its legislative and regulatory policies, the administration is doing everything it can to hamper the production of conventional fuels. The standard, and oft used, countermeasure is to seek judicial relief from nonsensical overreach, which takes a lot of time and money, but several states this week showed a more creative side, and it’s a good thing in my book. At the Federalist, Tristan Justice details the administration’s misguided actions which prompted the response: President Joe Biden has been aggressive in quickly curtailing oil and gas development as promised on the campaign trail. If you’ve any doubt that the this administration puts the desires of the crazy greens over the public interest, the Wall Street Journal’s editorial board puts that to rest. California’s Historic Flood-Drought Weather Per Watts, since 1861, before the industrial revolution, California has recorded periods of heavy rainfall and truly massive floods which more water storage could mitigate. The CDC also suggested moderately and severely immunocompromised 5-to 11-year-olds get an additional dose about a month after their second shot,
