Rocks hurled at police and subsequent gunshots punctuated a tense standoff between as many as 80 officers and around 60 people in Englewood late Thursday night, police said. At 11:30 p.m., Englewood Police officers responded to a report of a disturbance at the intersection of Palisade Avenue and Palisade Place, Deputy Chief Gregory Halstead said in an email. The Passaic County Board of Elections decided not to count 3,274 all mail-in ballots in the 2020 council elections, or 20 percent of those that were submitted. The FBI believes a Virginia man accidentally amputated his own hand while making an explosive device that may have been designed with the aim to kill 'hot cheerleaders'. Cole Carini, 23, of Richlands, arrived at the Clinch Valley Medical Center on June 2 with a missing hand and shrapnel wounds on his neck and throat. According to the Gwinnett County, Georgia police, three protesters are under arrest for tracking cops to their homes and tossing Molotov cocktails at their cars. From WSB TV2: Police say the vandals tracked those officers down at their homes and tried to torch their cars. Both fires were put out quickly, leaving minor damage to the vehicles. The Minneapolis mayor is asking for federal help cleaning up and rebuilding his city after rioters caused at least $55 million worth of damage through looting, burning, and defacing public and private property. That cost estimate is likely to increase in the coming days as government officials continue to tally the damage done in the wake of George Floyd’s death, Mayor Jacob Frey said according to the Minneapolis Star Tribune. The decision undermines one of the main goals of the Northeast Canyons and Seamounts Marine National Monument, a controversial preserve about 130 miles southeast of Provincetown that President Barack Obama designated in his final year in office. It was the first marine monument in the Atlantic Ocean. The Connecticut-sized area features a range of unique coral, rare fish, endangered marine mammals, and sea turtles.
