Sen. Mitt Romney (R-Utah) on Thursday praised former Defense Secretary James Mattis, who, on Wednesday, offered a blistering critique of President Trump as a divisive leader. "Gen. Mattis’s letter was stunning and powerful. Gen. Mattis is a man of extraordinary sacrifice. He's an American patriot. He's an individual whose judgment I respect, and I think the world of him," Romney told reporters. "If I ever had to choose somebody to be in a foxhole with, it would be with a Gen. Mattis. What a wonderful, wonderful man," Romney added. Corrections*

It's absolutely stunning that a man who has wielded the power of our military, supposedly to protect our freedom, can be so stupid!! Even if what you said was true, Mattis, doing what you did in a crisis situation, condemns you. You should have supported America and worked to 'correct' things, quietly. Instead, like any other political attention-hog, you seek out the media and shout your opinion all over the place, weakening the bonds of Law. You are worthless trash.

Gee - - just think - - I was once banned from this forum for pointing out that it had been invaded by paid Romneybots. Ah, yes - - those were the good old days - - when many L-Dotters - - including this forum's administrator - - still idolized the Bushes and the Romneys. I guess I was a few years ahead of my time. Thankfully - - we don't see much of that anymore.

What foxhole would that be? There is no recorded instance of any Romney ever serving in the military. Three generations of Romney's family managed to avoid military service completely during active military conflicts. In 2007 Romney said "I longed in many respects to actually be in Vietnam and be representing our country there, and in some ways it was frustrating not to feel like I was there as part of the troops that were fighting in Vietnam." Weasel wordings like "in many respects" and "in some ways" are two reliable indicators Romney is lying. The other is his lips are moving.

Mattis was wrong to make a statement like he did during thIs time of national crisis. It was irresponsible and dangerous as is the one made by Kelly. The lack of respect for the office of the Presidency, let alone the Commander In Chief reveals a genuine lack of character on their part. I was appalled by the terrible lack of basic decency. The President has had more thrust on his plate than any President I can recall in my lifetime. It has been more than most men could take and continue to function even these generals. They disgust me. However, when that sanctimonious foppish, cardboard cutout of a man, Pierre Delecto, piles on with such vigor I am convinced this is just another strategy by the democrats to damage this President. If these fools believe that they in their wildest dreams can be part of a plot to unseat this President they are sorely mistaken. They would see a revolt that would shake the foundation of the world. God help us to rise above this madness and make November 3rd the shot that is heard ‘round the world. Americans have had enough!

This judge’s chambers will never be allowed in Yankee Stadium. A federal judge on Friday said he would unseal a letter that allegedly shows that the Yankees engaged in a “more serious, sign-stealing scheme” than Major League Baseball revealed publicly in 2017.  But the Yankees want the letter to remain secret because it would cause “significant” damage the team’s reputation, U.S. District Court judge Jed S. Rakoff wrote in a memorandum order filed Friday in the Southern District of New York.  The judge defused that part of the Bombers’ argument.  “Embarrassment on the part of MLB or the Yankees about the precise contents of the letter is not particularly weighty,”   Corrections*

“Romney didn’t win, did he?” That was former Senate Democratic majority leader Harry Reid’s response to whether he regretted lying about then-GOP presidential nominee — and now Utah senator — Mitt Romney. Reid accused Romney on the Senate floor in 2012, when he was running for president, of not having paid any taxes in four years. It was absolutely untrue and was discredited by Washington Post fact-checkers and others at the time. But that didn’t stop the onslaught of unfair and inaccurate accusations and innuendos.

Amid the chaos and anarchy across blue-city America that exclusively possessed public attention for the last couple of weeks, it was not hard to miss any other bit of news — especially if that news has not appeared or been even briefly mentioned by any major mainstream media outlet. Take for example the news of Hillary Clinton, who lost her appeal in the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit on June 2, where she tried to avoid testifying under oath about her emails and the Benghazi case. The hearing in the D.C. Circuit came in the case Judicial Watch v. Clinton, a public records case

An entire SWAT team in Hallandale Beach, Florida resigned on Friday in response to Police Chief Sonia Quinones kneeling with Black Lives Matter protesters. The police chief scheduled a meeting for Monday with the officers who resigned to hear their complaints. In a memo, the SWAT officers said in addition to being under trained and minimally equipped, they were outraged to see the police chief kneeling with political activists. “The team is minimally equipped, under trained and often times restrained by the politicization of our tactics to the extent of placing safety of dogs over the safety of the team members,” the officers wrote.

Black Lives Matter wants white people to know their place — which is in the back of the line. This holds even when whites are fighting to advance black causes. The Seattle branch of Black Lives Matter held a protest march on Friday, but specifically stated that white people must walk in the back like chattel.Keep in mind that BLM comically claims to protest “systemic racism” and fight for racial equality while overtly segregating and marginalizing an entire race.Black Lives Matter Seattle wrote on its website: “Anti-Blackness is a greater threat to our survival. It’s killing us, and we are fighting to survive and thrive.”

One of the first articles I wrote for The Daily Wire was a typically optimistic and cheerful piece titled “The United States Of America No Longer Exists.” It was not met with a warm reception by many readers, who understandably found it to be a tad bleak. Three years later, it brings me no pleasure to say, “I told you so.” My basic thesis in that piece was that our country, though existing still as a legal and geographic entity, cannot be meaningfully described as “united.” We have nothing but the law and the land holding us together anymore.

What a difference 24 hours can make. – A report from KOMO News tonight, highlights Seattle officials planning to take back the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, or nation of CHAZ, from the occupying anarchists and Antifa elements. However, it’s more than a little funny to see Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan saying her administration is determining “when it would be safe for the Seattle Police to move in there” considering she was just claiming last night on CNN the occupation was merely a small group of festive citizens having “a block party”. (Snip)police Chief Carmen Best and her top commanders surveyed the inside of the East Precinct building, she and Mayor Jenny Durkan

The victim of a fatal police shooting in Atlanta had moments earlier fired a Taser at one of the cops chasing him, newly released surveillance footage showed Saturday — as the city’s chief of police resigned less than a day after the incident. Early reports of the altercation that killed Rayshard Brooks, 27, Friday night had indicated Brooks, who was black, was unarmed. But the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which is probing the troubling shooting, released surveillance video Saturday that, officials said, prove otherwise.
