Uber said it will make changes to its ride-hailing app and Uber Eats delivery service to support black-owned businesses.
In an email to customers late Thursday, CEO Dara Khosrowshahi said Uber Eats will promote black-owned restaurants on its app, and that the service will not charge delivery fees to those restaurants “for the remainder of the year.”
Uber will also offer discounted rides to black-owned small businesses “who have been hit hard by COVID-19,” though it did not add how much of a discount would be given.

Slippery road. Blacks will always feel entitled and never earn an honorable position in the real society. And if they do, it's all FAKE.

Lately I've been cleaning up email subscriptions that are seldom read. When the subject starts with something like, "To show our support for racial injustice..." or "To help overcome racial oppression..." it motivates the couple of quick clicks to unsubscribe. Don't mix business with politics or show your ignorance by accepting social justice propaganda. You are likely to lose half of your customers

Is that another form of affirmative action? Race should never be used at all. We are all equal, but the left is shoving this down our throats again and again and again. I'm saturated with this race crap.

If they are not offering the same consideration to Asian, Hispanic, Chinese or any other restaurants, how is that legal?

Does this mean drivers won't get paid for delivering to black people? How will this work?

Sorry, Uber, I won't support a clearly racist practice like that. Let me know when you drop your affirmative ride-sharing plan.

This is the same thing s charging more bc of race.
And is highly illegal.
Just imagine going into a dinner: charge a black man $100 and a white man $20.
Sue the crap out of them!

My list of businesses to never patronize keeps growing and making life simpler, just added Wendy's, Amazon and General Motors yesterday. Although Starbucks is already on the list, I'm still waiting for their statement of undying support of the black folk.

Uber...
Have you considered...?
Whatever amount of increased revenue you receive by this racist means,
will be more than twice lost in the discrimination suits.
Most enlightened enterprises seek win-win processes,
not the reverse...

Would this not run afoul of anti-discrimination laws everywhere? How about free food for Asians at the local Asian place? How long would that stand?

I don't care if Uber wants to work for nothing. That would seem to be their problem.

I don't know - it seems if a private company wants to promote and show support for a segment of those it serves - it's a legitimate way to do so WITHOUT gov't telling it it MUST do so. It's not for nothing, either, as they perhaps earn a return in loyalty of those restaurants and their clients. Good for them.

More entitlement. Already they have job preferences, and are very difficult to fire once hired.

The Left's answer to racism has always been, more racism.
In this case, I don't support it, but as a classic Liberal, I recognize their right to do what they want in their own affairs.
