Like most of America’s broken corporations and institutions, the National Football League has completely bent the knee to the radical Black Lives Matter lobby, thus potentially guaranteeing its own demise as fed-up former fans flee in search of sanity. After years of pushing back against disgraced former NFL star Colin Kaepernick’s widely disliked national anthem protests, NFL commissioner Roger Goodell issued an apologetic video statement Friday reversing course on everything.Listen: (Video) “It has been a difficult time for our country, in particular black people in our country. And who will buy products that advertise or watch media that promote the work of these athletes? Stadiums have become expanses of empty seats and TV ratings will go even faster into the toilet. These athletes should probably get better at looting because they have largely wasted their 'free' education and can't look forward to real employment. Who knows? Maybe Soros actually pays his thugs well.

If a rope in a tree can trigger the social justice types, shouldn't "taking a knee" remind them of how George Floyd died? Asking for a friend.

The NFL, in the person of Roger Goodell have jumped the shark. I stopped watching whenever Kapernick got into the game, and completely stopped when he began starting games. I watched a few playoff games last season, but now, not even those. I fondly remember the days when BLM meant Bureau of Land Management, even though they were hopelessly incompetent.

As I have commented elsewhere I am disappointed that I cannot participate in the dissent as I quit watching the NFL over a decade ago and MLB in the 90s, never watched NBA and now pay little attention to NASCAR with all of their ridiculous rule and format changes. Too many other things worth doing. "Sports" are committing suicide by embracing politics. Just a bunch of whining millionaires.

I pray this is the Lord at work, removing our idols and distractions and making us face Him instead. I pray He has a merciful plan for this country because I love this country, I believe the Lord gave us a most precious gift in founding this nation. And we have a huge battle on our hands. We need the Lord, as our founders needed Him and honored Him. The question is whether we will turn back to Him.

An entertainment industry basic is that lost audiences are notoriously difficult to recapture. Here, the NFL recommits to a small fraction of their potential audience, which generally prefers the faster-moving game of basketball, and to the soyboy social justice crowd, which dislikes sports in general and further demands rebranding of teams like the Redskins. Mainstream churches made the same mistake, mocking their core audience each Sunday until they stop attending.

The NFL, their announcers, and talk show personalities have become nothing but race hustlers, and political agenda mongers. Everyone of them should be forced to include a message that they are a message from the Democrat Party, instead of the shopworn NFL prohibitions about their copyrights. The left has destroyed the NFL, like everything else they touch. I want a divorce from leftists. Pack your things and get out.

I will even go so far as to not even let a game be shown on my TV. They went though this a few years ago but being essentially stupid people the team owners did not learn a thing! This whole business of people taking a knee is designed to make us bow to them. I will not ever take a knee. Since Floyd was killed, how many black men have been killed by other black men? I have occasionally watched a classic game broadcast or two during the pandemic-caused shutdown of all sports. I now know that I can truly enjoy old games that occurred back when players, white and black, saluted the flag with hands over their hearts. I don't care if I never watch another live broadcast. That includes baseball and college football if they go too far with demonizing a large segment of their audience to placate their spoiled and insulated players.

Coldoc (#44), remember a few years ago when the so-called 'Saints' had a bounty for the hit that would injure Brett Favre (who had switched to the Vikings) badly enough to put him out of the NFC championship game? The same THUGS, and more like them, are on the teams today. I would wager that one of 'The Boyz' let Brees know that, unless he grovels sufficiently today, some 300-lb black lineman will make sure that Brees' next National Felons League game will be his LAST.

I'm not very knowledgeable about football. I only started watching the Patriots when Brady started winning games. I liked watching the mood (for the lack of a better term) on the field. I could tell when they were going to win. My poor husband had to keep explaining the rules of the game, but he's patient and we had a good time. Then Kaperknickers happened. And of course Roger Goodell. We watched fewer and fewer games. Now Brady's in Florida, and now I really don't care about the Patriots, either. But all these sports agencies have taken upon themselves a political mantle, rather than just staying the heck out of the maelstrom of political animosities. Why not say: We have Black players, Hispanic and a whole range of other ethnicities. They all matter, our fans matter, all of them, we don't care what color they are. We care if there is injustice, of any kind. Most cops are good cops, often in dangerous situations on behalf of the communities they serve. I know i am thankful for them. The moral preening going on is nauseating. Are we --as a country, a people-- really accepting these mass confessions of ideological purity? That's what was so disappointing about Drew Brees. So much for his "convictions" about his love of country and honoring his father's and grandfather's service. A sports radio guy LOSES his job? Many other's threatened with retribution for have the wrong viewpoint??? this isn't behavior! These infractions are dang THOUGHT CRIMES.

If you thought the presidential election was already too hot and too nasty, brace yourself. You ain’t seen nothing yet. The mourning for Ruth Bader Ginsburg had barely started when the first political shots were fired. At 7:51 pm, about 15 minutes after news broke of her death, Sen. Chuck Schumer tweeted his demand that “this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president.”So much for rest in peace. There’s no surprise in Schumer’s position or his desire to get out in front of the issue, but neither carries much weight. The decision about whether to try to fill the court’s vacancy is up to Republicans.

Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner addressed an awkward on-air conversation that occurred one day prior with Newt Gingrich on Thursday, when several co-hosts of "Outnumbered" said George Soros should not be part of a conversation around the cost of riot damage across the U.S. "So, we had a little incident on the show yesterday that was not smooth. And while I was leading that segment, we had interruptions, and I sat silently while all of that played out. Also not ideal," Faulkner explained on "Outnumbered" on Thursday.

Conscious of politics to the last, Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg reportedly dictated a statement saying it was her “most fervent wish” that her seat on the Supreme Court not be filled until after the next president is inaugurated in January. Republicans are not likely to heed her wish. Days before her passing Friday, Justice Ginsburg dictated a statement to her granddaughter, Clara Spera, asking that the seat remain vacant into the new year, according to NPR: “My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the demure firebrand who in her 80s became a legal, cultural, and feminist icon has died. The Supreme Court announced her death, saying the cause was complications from cancer. Architect of the legal fight for women's rights in the 1970s, Ginsburg subsequently served 27 years on the nation's highest court, becoming its most prominent member. Her death will inevitably set in motion what promises to be a nasty and tumultuous political battle over who will succeed her, and it thrusts the Supreme Court vacancy into the spotlight of the presidential campaign.

Former Obama National Security Advisor Susan Rice said on Thursday’s broadcast of CNN’s “OutFront” that President Donald Trump’s executive order to restore patriotic education to our schools was “the most communist, retro, crazy thing I’ve heard out of Donald Trump’s mouth in a while.”Burnett said, “He just said something else today, signed an executive order creating the quote ‘1776 commission.’ And the goal of it, and I want to quote, from the order is to ‘restore patriotic education to our schools,’ as if that education has been gone. He went after The New York Times for its quote, ‘1619 project,’ which aims to reframe this nation’s history with

Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden claimed without evidence on Thursday night that President Donald Trump was responsible for every single person who has died from the coronavirus, which originated in China.“If the president had done his job, had done his job from the beginning, all the people would still be alive. All the people—I’m not making this up. Just look at the data. Look at the data,” Biden stated. One study suggested that a large number of people may not have died if certain measures had been implemented weeks earlier, but the study in no way stated that earlier action would have saved “all the people.”

The internal polls must be bad. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) did a complete 180 on Thursday and called for rioters to be prosecuted. We support peaceful demonstrations. We participate in them. They are part of the essence of our democracy. That does not include looting, starting fires, or rioting. They should be prosecuted. That is lawlessness,” Pelosi said. It’s too late, Pelosi!

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-N.J.) led a group of Democratic senators to call for the National Rifle Association (NRA) Foundation to be immediately removed from the list of charities eligible to solicit and receive contributions from federal employees on Friday. Twelve senators, including Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), wrote a letter to the head of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), Michael Rigas, requesting the NRA Foundation be removed during the Combined Federal Campaign’s (CFC) annual fundraising drive, set to begin Sept. 21. The letter follows the lawsuit from the New York attorney general seeking to dissolve the powerful pro-gun interest group announced last month.

Joe Biden has one major goal when it comes to the presidential debates: Don’t let President Trump get away with a single thing. Aides and allies to Biden say the Democratic nominee needs to be ready to fact check Trump in real time and not let the president get away with exaggerating or distorting his record. And they say he needs to aggressively hold him accountable when the candidates meet on state Sept. 29 in Cleveland. (Snip) There is a palpable fear among some Democrats about whether Biden is up for the challenge, and whether being too aggressive could backfire.

On Tuesday, in an article I wrote titled, “Gavin Newsom Needs to Be Less of an Instagram Influencer, More of a Governor,” I was heavily critical of California Governor Gavin Newsom in using people’s tragedy as a platform for his agenda, likely without the permission of the people had lost everything: “Most recently, “candid” (see: staged) photos were taken of him chillin’ near the ashes and debris where someone’s house once stood. Decked out like he was headed down the runway at a fashion event, perfectly manicured hands and sculpted hair, the governor likely didn’t have permission from those property owners

The Trump Campaign laid down a huge marker for the final 50 days leading up to Election Day — voters can embrace the patriotic history that focuses on 1776 and what came after, or 1619 and what the New York Times says should be important. There is little subtlety in framing the issue as follows: Critical race theory, the 1619 Project, and the crusade against American history is toxic propaganda, ideological poison that, if not removed, will dissolve the civic bonds that tie us together. It will destroy our country.
