Attorney General William Barr rained on the liberal media’s parade in trying to paint President Donald Trump as an impulsive, irrational war-seeking commander-in-chief going off half-cocked to stir world passions.
Countering media claims that the president disdains expertise in making decisions, Barr said Monday that Trump consulted the Justice Department before ordering the airstrike that killed Iran’s terrorist general.
“The Department of Justice was consulted and frankly I don’t think it was a close call,” the attorney general said. “I believe the president clearly had the authority to act as he did on numerous different bases.”
President Donald Trump will offer some entertaining counter-programming to the Democrat presidential debate on Tuesday night, during a campaign rally in Wisconsin.
“The timing of the Milwaukee rally is not an accident,” Trump campaign Communications Director Tim Murtaugh told Breitbart News.
Trump’s rally is expected to begin at 8:00 p.m. EST in Milwaukee while Democrats take the stage in Iowa for the debate beginning at 9:00 p.m. EST. Few will be surprised if the rally start time is delayed and extends into the debate kickoff.
“Voters have been subjected to an endless series of droning Democrat debates, so what better counter-programming could there be than a Trump Keep America Great rally?” Murtaugh said.

An Iranian national arrested near President Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, originally arrived in the United States as a refugee, Breitbart News has learned.
On January 10, Palm Beach Police Department arrested 38-year-old Masoud Yarieilzoleh, from Iran, who was apparently sleeping in a gazebo in a park in Palm Beach, according to the Palm Beach Post. When police searched Yarieilzoleh, they found a 17-inch machete, two 4.5-inch knives, and an ax, along with about $22,000 in cash.
Also, Yarieilzoleh’s car had been parked at Palm Beach International Airport. Yarieilzoleh was charged with carrying a concealed weapon and has since been released from police custody

You have to give credit to congressional Democrats for one thing: They are an extremely hopeful bunch. Mainstream liberal Democrats and their allies in the media have made clear that “demographics is destiny,” and that destiny favors Democrats. It’s easy enough to see why they believe this: nonwhites constituted 15 percent of the population in 1960, by 2050 that will have risen to 53 percent, and nonwhites vote overwhelmingly for Democrats.
The answer most mainstream conservatives have to this challenge is to try harder. Convince nonwhites to vote for conservative candidates, even if that means giving up all the entitlements that Democrats have used for decades to purchase votes and create dependency. It’s a tough sell.
Not-so-mainstream conservatives are as likely to give up as to try harder.
Among the Trump-haters, the scramble is on to rationalize the successful killing of Qassem Soleimani. These include all brands of Trump-dissenters, from the civilized supporters of other approaches to the presidency to those who regard the incumbent with distaste but wish the country well, down through the ranks of the obsessive, the paroxysmally mad, the fully demented, and the rabid who are dangerous when they bite.(Snip) His administration has been relatively successful: a strong economy, drastic reduction in illegal immigration, falling rates of poverty (Snip)

CNN and the Des Moines Register are co-hosting the seventh Democratic debate tonight. But one front-runner won’t be attending this or any debate. His name is Michael Bloomberg.
Bloomberg has met the four-poll threshold to attend the January debate, but he is forced to sit out because he has vowed not to take campaign contributions. The Democratic National Committee requires a whopping 225,000 unique donors to qualify to get on stage. This rule, however, contravenes the party's values regarding money in politics.
There was a time, not too long ago, when the most popular candidates, as evident in polls, made it on stage, but those days are long gone.
Across America, there is a constant war being waged over voter rolls. Democrats resist any effort to purge the rolls, contending that any diminution of names on the rolls constitutes voter suppression and is manifestly intended to keep minorities from voting. Conservatives strongly support existing laws to purge from voter rolls names associated with people who have passed away or moved on. They argue that doing so preserves voting integrity by making it more difficult for the cemetery vote to affect election outcomes.

Clemson linebacker James Skalski was ejected from the national championship game against LSU on Monday night after officials determined he led with his helmet when making a tackle.
