Ex-Treasury employee pleads guilty to
leaking Trump team info, after dramatic
bust with flash drive in hand

A former top Treasury Department official pleaded guilty Monday to conspiracy for leaking confidential banking reports associated with members of the Trump campaign, following her dramatic arrest in October 2018 as she toted a flash drive full of sensitive documents. Natalie Edwards, 41, entered the plea in Manhattan federal court, where U.S. District Judge Gregory H. Woods set sentencing for June 9. Although the conspiracy charge carried a potential penalty of up to five years in prison, Edwards signed a plea deal with prosecutors that recommended a potential prison sentence of zero to six months.

Comments:

Really disappointing that she will get a max of 6 months, and probably zero jail time. What she did perpetuated the Russia hoax, helped to ruin some people's lives, and continues to destroy public trust in the government (which trust the government clearly does not deserve and we will never give, thank God).

Ditto poster #2. Unbelievable ... "sentencing" date is six months out with the remote possibility of only a maximum of six months jail time. Why bother wasting the time, taxpayer money, and judicial resources on a farce like this?

I wouldn't be surprised if she doesn't get sued in civil court for significant damages by some of the people who's information she leaked.

Two thoughts: 1. She’s agreed to testify against others in Treasury and the Obama WH. Or, 2. AG Barr is secretly wearing one of the vulgar pink hats whenever he closes the door of his DoJ office. Have sickening feeling that both Roger Stone and Gen Flynn will receive harsher prison sentences than this Democrats before Country fanatic.

This feels just like Lerner; a senior person making a biased political decision and making a personal choice to violate the law. Why not 5 years? What prosecutor bargained this down so much. Where is she working now? This was a form of sedition. If a crime was committed, she should have reported it to her superiors. She should have gotten several years in jail and banned from working for the government for life.

Donald Trump's decision to assassinate Qassem Soleimani has triggered a major rupture between the United States and its historically closest ally in the United Kingdom. In remarkably outspoken comments, UK Defence Secretary Ben Wallace said on Sunday that Trump's isolationist foreign policy stance meant the UK was now looking for alternative allies around the world. "I worry if the United States withdraws from its leadership around the world," he told the Sunday Times.

The comedians Bud Abbott and Lou Costello did a routine about baseball that is a cult favorite. In it, they kept batting back and forth the question, “Who’s on First?” “What” was on second and “I Don’t Know” was on third. “I Don’t Give a Darn” was shortstop. “Who’s On First” was a humorous and outlandish exchange between the two comics. A couple of years ago, I was interviewing a former senior White House official when the name Jeffrey Epstein came up. Unaware of my personal history with Epstein, this person assured me that the New York financier was no serious harm to anyone. He was a good guy. A charming guy. Useful, too. He knew a lot of rich Arabs, including the crown prince of Saudi Arabia, and, further, he had clever ideas about creating bond issues for them. “OK, so he has a girl problem,” this person threw on, almost as an afterthought.

They are Democrats Rep. Adam Schiff, chair of the Intelligence Committee, and Rep. Jerry Nadler, chair of the Judiciary Committee. Trump was impeached by the Democratic-led House last month on charges of abuse of power over his pressure on Ukraine to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden as Trump withheld aid from the country. He was also charged with obstructing Congress’ ensuing probe.
