AUSTIN, Texas —Gov. Greg Abbott on Monday gave Texas’ highest civilian honor to a 71-year-old man who shot and killed an armed attacker at a church in December. Abbott gave Jack Wilson the Governor’s Medal of Courage during a ceremony in Austin, calling him a hero for stopping the shooter at a church in the Fort Worth-area town of White Settlement.Wilson, a firearms instructor who trained the West Freeway Church of Christ’s volunteer security team, shot the attacker once in the head after he opened fire with a shotgun in the church’s sanctuary. Wilson’s single shot quickly ended the attack

This is great news. People who risk their own lives to save others deserve recognition, no doubt. Well done, sir, and at no small risk of your own life in a shoot out with a shotgunner who had already murdered two men. A nephew was honored similarly, and I know it means a lot to him and his parents. We need to honor all of our heroes.

Stephen Willeford should get this honor as well. Very similar circumstances at another Texas church two years ago.

Excellent point, #3. I have never heard of Steven Willeford getting any sort of an official recognition for his heroism. The Enemedia would freak out to know that a Texas sheriff's department honored a civilian who assisted a deputy who was under attack by rifle fire, and killed the shooter with some long range pistol shooting, was given a semiauto rifle as a reward by the department. It's a great story, mostly ignored by the media outside of Texas.

#3 and others are correct. Jack Wilson isn't the only one to end a mass shooting with accurate gunfire. God bless America's human sheepdogs. And may those who would take away citizens' firearms and turn law abiding people into felons be emptied out of legislatures as though by dump truck. The two shotgun blasts that took two innocent lives and the answering third blast that ended the attack happened in seconds. The three bangs are very close together. The video is below. If Mr. Wilson had not put the shooter's lights out immediately with a head shot, he himself would likely have been the next victim. Two men in front of him, one of them going for a defensive pistol, had been killed in the two seconds before Wilson raised his Sig Sauer P229 (caliber: .357 Sig). Once his two friends had been killed, his shot was open, and he took it. I believe he would have been killed if his shot had been a split second slower. If the killer had been unopposed by friendlies with guns inside the sanctuary, there is no telling how many innocent churchgoers might have died that Sunday morning. Also notice that there were at least six people in that sanctuary with their weapons ready to go if needed. Unfortunately, we live in a world where evil exists and must be opposed--if necessary with constitutionally protected, specifically directed gunfire.

I was discussing the most recent church shooting, ended by Mr. Wilson, with my long time neighbor, a police officer, now retired, over the weekend. I mentioned that a friend is on his church's security team, asked if he was on his church's team. He said that he had been asked to join and had asked the security team leader if they needed more members carrying weapons. The church security team leader said "Do you know how many of our members normally carry concealed in church?" My retired police officer friend asked how many. The answer was "Eighty nine". I was impressed that this church was safe. And this is in eastern Kansas.

Following House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s signing of the articles of impeachment on Wednesday, the Senate is expected to begin their impeachment trial. White House officials are bracing for a “quick” trial in the Senate and said they don’t expect new witness testimonies. Top administration officials believe President Trump is overwhelmingly winning in the impeachment case. They also expect the trial to last no more than two weeks. White House Deputy Press Secretary Hogan Gidley said the president is not worried about the trial and believes Democrats’ case for impeachment is blatantly political. “The whole process has been proven, to this point, to be a sham and illegitimate.

After a months-long legal battle with the International Boundary and Water Commission, a “United Nations-type” globalist agency which has deliberately facilitated the illegal entry of hordes of foreign nationals to illegally enter the United States, a federal judge cleared the way for Fisher Industries and We Build The Wall to continue building a section of President Donald Trump’s Mexico border wall.   As Fisher Industries and WBW, a crowdfunded organization founded by triple amputee veteran Brian Kolfage, geared up to construct an 18-foot tall bollard barrier along a 3 mile stretch of the Rio Grande on private property in Mission, Texas along the Rio Grande, the IBCW flexed its bureaucratic muscle to sabotage the project.

Chinese Vice Premier and Communist Party Politburo member Liu He is in Washington this week to sign a trade agreement with the Trump Administration. In making the so-called phase-one trade deal, China agreed to increase purchases of U.S. agriculture, energy services, and manufactured goods by $200 billion; open its markets to U.S. banks, credit card companies, and other financial services; and end its long-standing practice of forcing foreign companies to transfer their technology to Chinese “partners” as a condition for doing business in China. He was also charged with obstructing Congress’ ensuing probe.
