A twisted leftist was sentenced on Thursday to 90 days in jail for spitting on a 67-year-old, MAGA-hat wearing Trump supporter in October. The surprising justice meted out to Matthias George Ajple was attributable at least in part because the crime was caught in on camera in living color at Hurricane Grill & Wings in Vero Beach, Florida. The registered Democrat will not only sit and stew in the Indian River County Jail for three months, but he will also serve 12 months on probation, pay a fine of $695, and fork out restitution in the amount of $155 to Robert Youngblood, the man who was the target of Ajple’s abuse.

Former White House chief strategist Steve Bannon said after “slow-walking” the process of sending the articles of impeachment to the Senate, Speaker Nancy Pelosi invited President Trump to deliver the State of the Union so she can drive the media narrative. He also had some advice for the president on how to respond. “Tell Nancy Pelosi when you deliver [the articles] and we have a trial, and after I’m acquitted, I will come to have the State of the Union. Not until then,” Bannon said in an appearance on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures.” Host Maria Bartiromo referenced a comment made by House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy, R-Calif.,

On Sunday’s broadcast of ABC’s “This Week,” House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) accused Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) of being an “accomplice” to alleged Russian interference in U.S. elections. Host George Stephanopoulos asked, “How worried are you about Russian interference in 2020? Are we doing all we can to prevent it?” Pelosi said, “No, and the president of the United States is in complete denial about Russia’s role. As I have said, in terms of this president, all roads lead to Putin. He said he’s not going to accept the assessment of our own intelligence agencies that they were very much involved in the 2016 election. That 24/7, they’re still engaged.

Republican voters have lamented for years over the lack of pushback from their elected leaders. Democrats and the media hurl baseless and libelous accusations at Republicans, only to be met with a weak defense at best, or silence at worst. Republicans want to push granny off a cliff, make senior citizens eat dog food, starve children and put them in cages. Republicans are racist, sexist, bigoted, homophobic, Islamophobic, mean-spirited, and ignorant. Watch any cable news show and get a healthy dose of this garbage. If you don’t like the news, watch late night “comedy,” entertainment award shows, or virtually any television series to hear much the same.

One could perhaps have excused them their earlier indiscretions of November 2016. He was, after all, an unknown quantity, an outsider of questionable conservative pedigree. Indeed, Donald Trump had been a fairly typical New York liberal Democrat for much of his life. And he had led a less than stellar moral life. And so the pile-on at the time by National Review and others could perhaps have been forgiven, although not really, when one considered the alternative. As I had written at the time: Do we not grow weary of the sanctimonious ones? The Never Trumpers that endlessly hector and scold,

The latest reporting I've seen is that the Senate will take up President Trump's impeachment trial next week. What's wrong with that, you ask? I've already said what's wrong: the Schiff-Nadler Star Chamber violated President Trump's Fifth Amendment rights to procedural due process, rendering the resulting impeachment articles null and void as "poisoned fruit." The GOP leadership should do what the Founders would have done: challenge the legal legitimacy of the impeachment articles. The logic blueprint I will present below — Mr. Jefferson knew logic — will help make the case in court.

Here’s an idea that our Democrat politician friends might want to try if they want to stop being back-stabbing garbage people. It’s kind of a radical notion and a little outside the box, but here goes: How about, just once, you stop sucking-up to the foreign bastards who are attacking our country and take America’s side? Maybe you should not back and excuse the gay-hanging, women-stoning, airline-downing, Obama check-cashing, Israel-threatening, American-murdering cultists ruling Iran. Just a thought. It’s kind of crazy, but it just might work. Now, I know what you’re thinking. You’re thinking what your man-bunned grad student TA taught you, that “Hey, America sucks and these foreigners have a good point

Last February, Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez threatened House Democrats who dared to work with Republicans, saying they were “putting themselves on a list” and that she would help challengers unseat them in 2020. At the time, her more seasoned colleagues assumed such rhetoric would abate once she learned how Congress operates. Rep. Kurt Schrader (D-Ore.), for example, gave her the benefit of the doubt: “She’s new here, feeling her way around. She doesn’t understand how the place works yet.” Presumably, Shrader was disabused of this fantasy when he found his name among the 24 House Democrats who will soon be “primaried” by candidates backed by two Political Action Committees linked to AOC.

In 2016, insurgent candidates roiled the nomination process of both major parties. Donald Trump, running as a populist, won 44 percent of the primary vote against a divided field and won the GOP nomination. Bernie Sanders, running as an unabashed socialist, also won 44 percent in the Democratic race against Hillary Clinton, despite her success in using the Democratic National Committee to kneecap Sanders. But because Sanders faced only one opponent, he lost. This year, Sanders is back, and the old saw that one way to win your party’s nomination is to have run for it before may apply.

The number one story in the news in Great Britain (and a major story around the world) is the apparent abandonment of the Royal Family by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, better known as Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The story obviously has a strong personal element, but it also strikes me as emblematic of our time. The British monarchy is not just ancient, but profoundly old-fashioned. It is founded on a concept of duty, exemplified by Queen Elizabeth II, that is utterly at odds with the 21st century. Being a Royal is a great job, most would say, but it inherently involves sacrifice.

His Democrats have taken over the state legislature and are giddily preparing to exercise every ounce of their new-found powers. Northam’s expansive legislative agenda includes: passage of the long-dead Equal Rights Amendment (the deadline for ratification expired in 1982); decriminalization of marijuana; big spending on “save the planet” environmental nonsense; further liberalization of abortion laws; and, of course, far-reaching strict gun controls. Today, the Virginia Senate Judiciary Committee will begin consideration of a host of gun control bills.

In choosing between the two Democratic Party candidates atop the polls, African American voters have a consequential decision to make: Will our community side with former Vice President Joe Biden, who has repeatedly betrayed black voters to side with Republican lawmakers and undermine our progress? Or will we stand with Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders and a movement that has been fighting for racial and economic justice since the civil rights era? This critical choice is illustrated by the key differences between Biden and Sanders – which began at the beginning of their respective careers.

Vatican City — Retired Pope Benedict XVI has coauthored a new book defending the Catholic Church's practice of a celibate priesthood, in a shocking move that comes as Pope Francis is considering the possibility of allowing older, married men to be ordained as priests in the Amazon region. According to excerpts from the volume released Jan. 12 by the conservative French outlet Le Figaro, the ex-pontiff says he could not remain silent on the issue as Francis is contemplating the move, which was requested by the bishops from the nine-nation Amazon region at October's Vatican synod gathering. After Iran’s turn from ally to enemy in 1978, the U.S. pursued a de facto Iran policy of containment, similar to the U.S. approach to the Soviet Union during Cold War. Starting with the Obama administration, however, U.S. policy has seesawed between appeasement and confrontation, leading to a dangerously volatile situation. Though it was never formalized, the strategy that came together under the administration of George W. Bush (I served at the Pentagon and in the Senate during this time) had three pillars. First, impose prohibitive penalties on Iran’s nuclear advance. Second, bolster America’s allies on Iran’s periphery—and particularly America’s precious alliance with Iraq—to prevent any Iranian threat to their security

Dozens of hard-line militia members gathered outside the British Embassy in Iran on Sunday, chanting “Death to England,” and calling for the ambassador to be expelled and the embassy closed. The protests in Tehran followed British Ambassador Rob Macaire’s arrest for attending a Saturday night vigil for the victims of the Ukrainian passenger plane that Iran admitted it accidentally shot down earlier this week. All 176 people on board were killed. Macaire, who has been Britain’s envoy to Iran since March 2018, left the vigil after it became a demonstration -- but Iranian authorities later arrested him on allegations that he helped to incite the anti-government protest.

San Francisco is getting to be a hellhole and not just because crooks are having a field day, or a vast homeless army has prompted new tech 'innovations' in poop-map apps. It's actually becoming a city with a hollowed out look, redolent of some place like Steubenville, Ohio or maybe Utica, New York, during the bad years, empty storefronts and missing young people. So much for the trope that leftwing cities, with their walkable boulevards full of food trucks, handmade crafts, knitting shops, bookstores, artisan cheese shops, gourmet restaurants, and cafes are more lively and liveable than rightwing places.

American consumers understand that most forms of popular culture have become nothing more than commercials for the Democrat party. Movies, television, and music focus less on entertainment than on influencing the next election. They have gone beyond mere leftist bias. Artists, writers, and musicians subordinate their craft in order to present one endless Democrat commercial. This trend is equally egregious in the case of books. In modern bookstores, the Democrat commercial spreads far beyond the "politics" shelf. "The gardening books advocate hiring illegal aliens. The sports books reminisce about Vietnam."
