The silly smear of Bill Barr as
an agent of a ‘Catholic cult’

Original Article

Bill Barr is plugged into, and gets his marching orders from, a network of reactionary Catholics, whose tentacles reach into the highest echelons of power. At the center is a sinister, secretive organization with a Latin name: Opus Dei, “the Work of God.” That’s the impression you might take away from a new profile of the attorney general in The New Yorker. All that’s missing are the hair shirts, cilices and murderous albino monks — the kind of thing too many secular elites believe about the lives of devout Catholics generally and members of Opus Dei especially.

The New Yorker! Yet another magazine I used to subscribe to religiously (!) in the "olden" days, before it became biased and crappy. The cartoons are even sub-par now.

I have read a bit about Opus Dei. It is quite conservative, but it is not a cult.

It appears to me that the tentacles reaching into the highest echelons of power are the Obama jihadi muslims, the unashamed babykillers and the militant LGBTQers! But that's just me.

The International Skating Union this week included an outfit made of Auschwitz uniforms worn by a Russian skater among a “best costume” list — then removed it and said it was included by mistake after a public outcry. The costume, which includes a Star of David and elements of Auschwitz guard uniforms, was worn by Anton Shulepov while he skated to the theme from Schindler’s List during a free skate routine in November. The ISU included the costume in a contest that allows fans to vote for their favorite outfits worn by skaters on Sunday. The organization removed it from the list by Monday morning, saying they intended

A purported street-gang leader from Lombard is accused of seeking to send money to Islamic State militants in Syria. A complaint says 37-year-old Jason Brown gave $500 on three separate occasions to someone he believed would forward it to an IS fighter. But the middleman was cooperating with authorities and the supposed militant was an undercover law enforcement officer. The charging documents say Brown, whose nickname is “Abdul Ja’Me,” is the leader of the AHK street gang that is based in suburban Bellwood. He is charged with attempting to provide material support and resources to a foreign terrorist organization. His detention hearing is Nov. 21. Brown was arrested Thursday after federal agents

Marching teachers in downtown Chicago were blocked by police as they tried to enter Lake Shore Drive during rush hour Friday afternoon on the seventh day of canceled classes in the city. The teachers began with a rally near Buckingham Fountain before marching down city streets, prompting closures as they went. The group was stopped on Balbo at Lake Shore Drive as a line of officers kept them from entering the major roadway. Although no agreement was reached Thursday, officials with Chicago Public Schools and the Chicago Teachers Union say that there was some progress made in negotiations. The Chicago Police Department advised officers not to cooperate with the Department of Homeland Security, particularly in situations involving immigration arrests, according to an internal department memo obtained by Fox News. Instead of assisting DHS upon request, officers are instructed to wait for their supervisor to arrive, the memo said. Once the supervisor arrives, “if the request is to assist with an immigration arrest or detention, CPD personnel will leave the scene as directed by the CPD supervisor,” according to the memo.(Snip)At an immigration rally last week, Lightfoot said Immigration and Customs Enforcement has de-legitimized itself by being the “political arm.” of the Trump campaign.

Chicago Teachers Union members have voted to authorize a strike, officials announced Thursday night. CTU President Jesse Sharkey announced that the union eclipsed the 75 percent threshold needed to authorize a strike at approximately 9:15 p.m. Thursday. Sharkey said that 94 percent of the votes tallied thus far were in favor of authorizing a strike. More than 90 percent of votes have been counted, but full vote totals won't be known until Friday at the earliest. (Snip) Chicago Public Schools officials say they are offering a 16 percent raise, which would make the average teacher salary nearly $100,000 within the next five years.

The discovery of more than 2,200 medically preserved fetal remains at the Illinois house of a late doctor who had performed abortions in Indiana has left authorities in the two states trying to figure out how and why he came to amass such a collection, when he started storing fetuses at his home, and what if any laws were broken.(Snip) As far as storing fetal remains, the law is murky. For starters, Klopfer was performing abortions before a 2016 Indiana law requiring that aborted fetal remains be cremated or buried. Previously, clinics had the option of sending those remains for incineration along with other human tissues and medical waste.

The last several months have been an emotional roller coaster for the family of a 13-year-old boy who was fatally shot by a friend while sitting inside his sister's bedroom in Englewood. Deon Williams' family initially forgave their son's killer, but then they changed their minds after new information cast doubt over whether the shooting was unintentional. A judge on Wednesday agreed to a plea deal reached between prosecutors and defense attorneys, but Williams' parents made it clear they don't believe justice has been served. The now 15-year-old boy who killed their son received three years of probation, but no jail time.

Landlords are also barred from disclosing or threatening to disclose immigration status to any law enforcement or immigration agency. Ralph Northam plans to declare a temporary emergency Wednesday banning all weapons, including guns, from Capitol Square ahead of a massive rally planned next week over gun rights. That's according to two state officials who were briefed on the plans but not authorized to speak publicly about them. More than 3,000 messages later, Q has created a disturbing, multi-faceted portrait of a global crime syndicate that operates with impunity. It demanded vigilant/consistent regulation, compassion for the disenfranchised and the periodic display of a necessary sacrifice that allowed for the long term health of our society at the expense of short term whims,” Baldwin’s began, in a longwinded social media rant

They are Democrats Rep. Adam Schiff, chair of the Intelligence Committee, and Rep. Jerry Nadler, chair of the Judiciary Committee. Trump was impeached by the Democratic-led House last month on charges of abuse of power over his pressure on Ukraine to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden as Trump withheld aid from the country. He was also charged with obstructing Congress’ ensuing probe.
