Canada's Trudeau: Iran plane victims would

OTTAWA - Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said on Monday that the victims of the Ukrainian airliner shot down in Iran would still be alive if the recent escalation of tensions in the region had not happened, according to a transcript of an interview with Global News TV. The U.S. killing of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad in a Jan. 3 drone strike prompted Iran to launch a missile attack on Iraqi bases housing U.S. troops on Jan. 8, hours before the passenger jet was shot down. All 176 aboard were killed, including 57 Canadians. "I think if there were

Comments:

Iran alone pressed the button that brought down the plane and killed everyone aboard.. But Prissy-boy wants to tip-toe on eggshells around the Ayatollahs.

If there were no Islamic Republic of Iran, there would be a lot less regional tension. What is Prime Minister Trudeau prepared to do to accomplish that? Bury his dead and then go back to business as usual with Iran? The President of the United States did a very good thing here. If he had consulted with allies, they would have tried to talk him out of it, added nothing to the effort, and then somebody would have leaked it to the Iranians. Trudeau needs to criticize the people who shoot down civilian aircraft, not the people who kill terrorists who shoot down civilian aircraft.

Will Trudeau mourn the fall of the current Iranian regime? There seems to be growing discontent there, Justin. Didn't the gvt just shoot at protesters voicing their anger over the regime shooting down a commercial airliner full of Iranians? Why are you taking their side, Justin? The Iranians don't play nice with the other kids. Depending on who the kids are, they get stoned, shot, thrown off buildings, publicly whipped, exiled, imprisoned, etc. Trudeau knows all this-this little speech is just political brown-nosing BS. He should be condemning the Iranians, not coddling them.

Barack Obama would be carved on Mt. Rushmore if he hadn't been such an incompetent, communist, greedy, lying snake in the grass and if the engineers could find a way to prop up the ears. Hillary Clinton would have been elected POTUS in 2016 if the first sentence had been false and if she hadn't been aptly described by the same adjectives by which Barack Obama is fitted like a size-small Trojan. Here are some facts for Monsieur Trudeau to ponder: Iran is actively pursuing nuclear weapons. It placed at least one of its nuclear facilities in Teheran so as to illegally shield it from strikes by the Democracies. It surrounded the nuclear facilities with anti-aircraft batteries. It placed its Russian anti-aircraft missile batteries on a "weapons-free" status, allowing them to fire at will. It allowed civilian aircraft from other nations to operate in this very perilous airspace. Monsieur Trudeau, by not doing any one of these things, Iran would not have shot down the Ukrainian airliner.

A Democratic presidential campaign field that was once touted as the most diverse in history has been whittled down to six candidates on its debate stage, all of them white. For Oakland Democratic Rep. Barbara Lee, that’s a problem. Lee says the Democratic National Committee’s rules for determining who can participate in its presidential debates is “systematically discriminatory” against people of color. A shocking new poll has discovered that 47 percent of young Democrats believe that other countries are better than the United States. Moreover, many young Americans admit that they wouldn’t mind other countries becoming as militarily powerful as the United States. Slightly more than one third — 36 percent — of Americans 18 to 29 say that other countries are better than the United States, according to a recent poll released by Pew Research. Among Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents under the age of 30, nearly half, 47 percent, say that there are other countries that are better than the U.S. Meanwhile, just 20 percent of Democrats age 50

Alec Baldwin is again targeting supporters of President Donald Trump, claiming this time that the “desecration of those ideals and the near moral collapse of this country falls squarely in the lap of Trump’s supporters.” “American democracy has always been a struggle between the misaligned protections of specific freedoms and a raging, at times intoxicating, 12 cylinder economy. It demanded vigilant/consistent regulation, compassion for the disenfranchised and the periodic display of a necessary sacrifice that allowed for the long term health of our society at the expense of short term whims,” Baldwin’s began, in a longwinded social media rant

On Monday’s broadcast of ABC’s “The View,” Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) said calling former Vice President Joe Biden and his son Hunter to testify during the impeachment of President Donald Trump “would convert the Senate trial into the same kind of a sham proceeding.” Co-host Abby Huntsman said, “Do you worry that if you open the door to witnesses like John Bolton that Republicans —we’re talking about a fair trial — Republicans are going to call the Bidens, even you to testify. Trump re-upped his calls for you and Speaker Nancy Pelosi over the weekend. He was tweeting all about that. Joe Biden has said that he would not testify,

WASHINGTON — Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Wednesday that two House chairmen who led President Donald Trump's impeachment inquiry will be among the House prosecutors for Trump's Senate trial. They are Democrats Rep. Adam Schiff, chair of the Intelligence Committee, and Rep. Jerry Nadler, chair of the Judiciary Committee. Trump was impeached by the Democratic-led House last month on charges of abuse of power over his pressure on Ukraine to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden as Trump withheld aid from the country. He was also charged with obstructing Congress’ ensuing probe.
