The mask has slipped, and we see the raw power of monarchy. The kings and queens of England haven’t retained a throne for a thousand years by being soft. God’s anointed monarchs have kept their hollow crowns by force and cunning, or they’ve lost them to superior force and cunning.
Last week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their secession from the monarchy, and that they intended to cash out with their titles, baubles, hereditary perquisites and sponsorship deals intact. Elizabeth II had other ideas. On Friday, the paparazzi at the gate snapped her driving the royal Range Rover with furrowed brow and full warpaint.

We’re it not for the wealth the Royals would just be another run of the mill dysfunctional family.

I get the impression that Mehgan wants to be another Michelle Obama. By that I mean socializing with media, Hollywood and the progressive elite and supporting the causes she believes in financially. You will not see her actually working at a soup kitchen or lowering her lifestyle to mirror her beliefs.

I like this article. I feel it puts the current situation in it's place. The media is having a melt down over this and it is not that big of a deal.

Must Read for the headline alone :). This is the best summary of the whole mess (so far, anyway...).

In Harry and Meghan, I see Edward (AKA David) and Wallis 2.0. He gave up everything and ended up living a sad and empty existence in Paris, showering her with jewels and designer duds, and socializing with her friends. The only difference now is that in the future, Harry can admit he made a mistake, divorce Meghan (a divorce now complicated by child custody issues), and return to the family fold. I don't think he's burned his bridges that much (yet). Time will tell how this will play out, but I don't think that marriage will last as long as Edward and Wallis.

This was written in the style of Howie Carr, or Mike Royko. I like it.
The only thing lacking is an interview with Jeffrey Epstein, but perhaps the queen preempted that possibility.

second post apologies, but, #9, I prefer to think of it as Queen Elizabeth I and II- icide.
Who was at greatest risk if Jeffrey would spill the beans? Not Bill Clinton, who would strut and brag about it, not Lady Lucifer, who is bloated and floating in the loser's water, who is probably pleased that Dollar Bill Clinton found a way to meet his needs.
The British royal family, (who are of German heritage, interestingly enough) could lose their gigs, cutting ribbons, riding horses or riding in carriages, wearing funny hats) if Jeffrey had blown the whistle on Andrew. Even the Brits, who call Prince Andrew 'Randy Andy' might not like the statutory rape stuff.
The queen is a tough lady, who, during world war II, trained as a military truck mechanic. I respect her for that.

What impresses me is the old gal still drives herself and often takes the public trains. We could very quickly name a dozen of our American "betters" that would be shocked if asked to do either. I once read an article claiming Hillary admitted she hadn't driven in so long she wasn't sure she still could.
