The Wars of the Poses

The mask has slipped, and we see the raw power of monarchy. The kings and queens of England haven’t retained a throne for a thousand years by being soft. God’s anointed monarchs have kept their hollow crowns by force and cunning, or they’ve lost them to superior force and cunning. Last week, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their secession from the monarchy, and that they intended to cash out with their titles, baubles, hereditary perquisites and sponsorship deals intact. Elizabeth II had other ideas. On Friday, the paparazzi at the gate snapped her driving the royal Range Rover with furrowed brow and full warpaint.

We’re it not for the wealth the Royals would just be another run of the mill dysfunctional family.

I get the impression that Mehgan wants to be another Michelle Obama. By that I mean socializing with media, Hollywood and the progressive elite and supporting the causes she believes in financially. You will not see her actually working at a soup kitchen or lowering her lifestyle to mirror her beliefs.

In Harry and Meghan, I see Edward (AKA David) and Wallis 2.0. He gave up everything and ended up living a sad and empty existence in Paris, showering her with jewels and designer duds, and socializing with her friends. The only difference now is that in the future, Harry can admit he made a mistake, divorce Meghan (a divorce now complicated by child custody issues), and return to the family fold. I don't think he's burned his bridges that much (yet). Time will tell how this will play out, but I don't think that marriage will last as long as Edward and Wallis.

This was written in the style of Howie Carr, or Mike Royko. I like it. The only thing lacking is an interview with Jeffrey Epstein, but perhaps the queen preempted that possibility.

second post apologies, but, #9, I prefer to think of it as Queen Elizabeth I and II- icide. Who was at greatest risk if Jeffrey would spill the beans? Not Bill Clinton, who would strut and brag about it, not Lady Lucifer, who is bloated and floating in the loser's water, who is probably pleased that Dollar Bill Clinton found a way to meet his needs. The British royal family, (who are of German heritage, interestingly enough) could lose their gigs, cutting ribbons, riding horses or riding in carriages, wearing funny hats) if Jeffrey had blown the whistle on Andrew. Even the Brits, who call Prince Andrew 'Randy Andy' might not like the statutory rape stuff. The queen is a tough lady, who, during world war II, trained as a military truck mechanic. I respect her for that.

What impresses me is the old gal still drives herself and often takes the public trains. We could very quickly name a dozen of our American "betters" that would be shocked if asked to do either. I once read an article claiming Hillary admitted she hadn't driven in so long she wasn't sure she still could.

Former national security adviser Michael Flynn moved Tuesday to withdraw his guilty plea for lying to the FBI in the Russia probe, citing "bad faith" by the government. The court filing came just days after the Justice Department reversed course to recommend up to six months of prison time in his case, alleging he was not fully cooperating or accepting responsibility for his actions. But, in Tuesday’s court filing, his legal team said he moved to withdraw his plea "because of the government's bad faith, vindictiveness and breach of the plea agreement."

Police and social workers investigating child sex exploitation in Manchester knew children were suffering "the most profound abuse... but did not protect them", a report has found. After a child's death in 2003, police identified at least 97 suspects, but "very few" faced justice, the independent review found. The police operation was "prematurely closed down" after senior officers decided to "remove resources", it said. Police said "authorities fell short". Greater Manchester Police's (GMP) Operation Augusta was set up to tackle "the sexual exploitation throughout a wide area of a significant number of children in the care system by predominantly Asian men", the report said.

Seven years after Christian bakers refused to craft a cake to celebrate a same-sex wedding, the bakers are again in court, fighting to reverse a judgment that wiped out their life savings and drove them out of business. The U.S. Supreme Court sent their case back to the Oregon Court of Appeals (OCA) last year. In January 2013, Christian bakers Aaron and Melissa Klein refused to bake a custom wedding cake to celebrate a lesbian ceremony. Two years later, the Oregon Bureau of Labor and Industries (BOLI) slapped a $135,000 fine on the Kleins, citing one of the women who requested the cake

It was very subtle. Few picked up on its deeper ramification, not in the Left media, not in the pro-Trump media. Maybe it took a combination rabbi–attorney to detect the nuance in three words spoken out of turn, a sinful hate. As Nancy Pelosi lost her standoff with Mitch McConnell, bowing to the collapse of support even within her own Democrat caucus, she finally bit the bullet and conceded that she would have to submit her impeachment articles without having won a single face-saving concession from her Senate opponents after a fortnight of dangling the articles in her hallucination that she was dangling candy
Latest Democratic debate the

When the Democratic debate started Tuesday night, I was young, carefree, merry. Two hours later, when it ended, I was praying to the Almighty for a swift end to my suffering. I felt like I was 103 years old — or even older, like one of the early patriarchs in the Bible. All the life had been sucked out of my body. This, the seventh debate in seven months, was the dullest major political event in years. And there is no excuse for that, since there were only six candidates on stage and, therefore, a real possibility that the Democrats could explore their differences with one another and draw sharp divisions.

A GOP-led edge: Red states see less
unemployment, more economic growth

Opinion polling isn’t everything. However, it often gives you a good barometer of the general shape of things, especially at the state level. As of mid-2019, every single one of the top 10 most popular governors in the country were Republicans, while eight of the 10 least popular were Democrats. Generally speaking, voters trust Republicans more than they trust Democrats to lead their states. A deeper look at GOP-led states’ economic success explains why — but beyond the minutiae of simple policy, the bottom line is that electing a Republican often means increased growth and lower unemployment. An even stronger rule bears out the opposite when Democrats control the governor’s mansion.

COLORADO SPRINGS — The sergeant in charge of one of the busiest Army recruiting centers in Colorado, Sergeant First Class Dustin Comes, joined the Army, in part, because his father served. Now two of his four children say they want to serve, too. And he will not be surprised if the other two make the same decision once they are a little older. “Hey, if that’s what your calling is, I encourage it, absolutely,” said Sergeant Comes, who wore a dagger-shaped patch on his camouflage uniform, signifying that he had been in combat. Enlisting, he said, enabled him to build a good life where, despite yearlong deployments

The most substantively outrageous presidential campaign in American history has some serious chance of success. Bernie Sanders is leading or near the top of most polls in the first two Democratic nominating states of Iowa and New Hampshire. He could plausibly win both, which would instantly transform the race into an ugly, desperate effort to Stop Bernie. Sanders doesn’t exactly get good press. A lot of the punditry (understandably) wrote him off when Elizabeth Warren eclipsed him in the polls a couple of months ago and he had his health scare.

That's according to two state officials who were briefed on the plans but not authorized to speak publicly about them. WASHINGTON — Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Wednesday that two House chairmen who led President Donald Trump's impeachment inquiry will be among the House prosecutors for Trump's Senate trial. They are Democrats Rep. Adam Schiff, chair of the Intelligence Committee, and Rep. Jerry Nadler, chair of the Judiciary Committee. Trump was impeached by the Democratic-led House last month on charges of abuse of power over his pressure on Ukraine to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden as Trump withheld aid from the country. He was also charged with obstructing Congress’ ensuing probe.
