A Democratic presidential campaign field that was once touted as the most diverse in history has been whittled down to six candidates on its debate stage, all of them white. For Oakland Democratic Rep. Barbara Lee, that’s a problem. Lee says the Democratic National Committee’s rules for determining who can participate in its presidential debates is “systematically discriminatory” against people of color. To qualify for Tuesday’s debate in Iowa, a candidate had to receive contributions from 225,000 donors nationally and receive at least 7% support in two polls from the early-voting states — Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and South Carolina

Just heard on NPR that the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is "sexist" because not enough females are lauded there. It is just pathological - but hilarious!

Why are you complaining, Babs? Those are YOUR racist Democrats who have settled into an 'all-white' list of candidates. I thought you Dems were oh so pure and non-racist.
Actually, the all-white group just shows what a lousy slate of candidates the Dems have. Far left and totally out of synch with regular Americans.

I am more worried that the candidates Democrats have put forth are Socialists, basically Communists than about their color.
I saw someone ask a very succinct question the other day about why the People of Color phrase keeps popping up after black people so adamently shed the phrase Colored People. Colored People still being used by the NAACP in their title. Of course we all know the NAACP is not interested in Colored People, but only black people.People of African Origin--Negroes.
Just as Barbara Lee in her rant is not refereeing to People of Color, she is referring to Black people. People of African origin.
She doesn't want to level the playing field and more than the NBA does when they have few white people playing.
She wants to have an advantage based on race. Her race.

What is she talking about!? There's a Native American running who's been in the debates all along! She's telling us Elizabeth Warren doesn't count? (Someone should have told Harvard that).

I agree. There just aren't enough token dark people on the democrat lineup. I think, in the name of diversity and affirmative action, that they should appoint some completely incompetent dark people to make it look fair. If they pick a black Muslim lesbian transexusal communist cripple drug addict with a felony conviction, they can fill all the squares they impose on the rest of us.

If someone runs on a platform which offers Ideas rather than rhetoric, the color of one's skin doesn't really matter. When the only thing you run on is your minority status, (this includes Pete B) the voters are not impressed. Obama killed that strategy.

The Left needs to foment and, when needed, create controversy and anxiety in society. They need to separate us into categories: by race, by sex, by ideology, by class, by income, by age, by weight, you name it. A government who's real intention is to create harmony will always seek to bring its citizens together. That is where we all should be-together under our flag, signifying our unity. The Dems cannot allow that, so they inform their minions in the media to report stories designed to foster animosity amongst ourselves. And yet again, we see here that Ms Lee plays the race card. It would be ridiculous to suggest to her that of the candidates of color in the race, all dropped out because they couldn't gather enough support for their policies on their own merit. Oh no, its because racism. And in asserting that, she insults the collective intelligence of the electorate because no one is supposed to go against the narrative-no thinking for yourselves allowed! This is just but one of the reasons to never, never, ever ever ever vote Democrat. They want to rule over you like an iron fisted dictator and to hell with the Constitution. It's time to reject them all in Nov 2020.

The ones of color couldn't get traction.
Corey is a fraud,he grew up in white neighbor Hood.
Harris grew up in Canada, and wasn't liked by black folks.

Someone needs to invent a machine that you can feed any scenario into to find out why it's racist, sexist, or “systematically discriminatory”.
We could call it the "The Problematic" and sell it to the left so they won't have to go through the painful exercise you're pretending to think each time something happens.

So, she's saying that the Progressives, who dominate the party base now, and are their main campaign donors, don't vote in a way she would like, huh?
Well, I'm sure she's surprised to see that Progressives skew very white, and upper-income. They use regulations and "land conservation" efforts to isolate themselves into enclaves of well-to-do folks.
And, yet, she will lap-up all of the rhetoric and believe them when they say they want to help - but that's the same rhetoric of the last 50+ years with very little improvement in many inner-city areas.
Barbara Lee should know very well how this works based on her CA-13 district make-up:
Currently, the 13th district consists of the northern portion of Alameda County. Cities in the district include Alameda, Albany, Berkeley, Emeryville, Oakland, Piedmont, and San Leandro.[4]
34.2% white
19.9% black
22.8% Asian
20.8% Hispanic
2.2[2]% other

Actually, it's not systemic racism that ousted POC candidates from the podium, but black Democrats' preference for Joe Biden over blowdried phonies Kamala Harris and Cory Booker. Neither of those two have registered more than a blip above Pete Buttigeg among blacks. Biden gets 50% of the black vote.
It's ironic -- the factional battle in the Democratic Party is sane black people (Biden's true, large and perhaps only solid base) and "woke" white crazies behind Warren/Sanders et al.
In a left context, much like the larger battle in the United States.

Instead of looking for candidates whose skin isn't white, the Democrats should look for candidates whose policies provide real opportunity for voters whose skin isn't white. Said voters aren't going to be fooled by optics and woke-speak much longer when a white Republican is actually making their lives better.

Since the entire Democrat primary process is controlled by Democrats, if there is racism involved it is Democrats who are the racists.

Since the Dems are so blatantly racist, any intelligent progressive should vote for PDJT. He has created an economy with the lowest Black unemployment rate in history.

Back in the late 1960s, or thereabouts, civil rights 'leaders' demanded that the Masters Tournament invite a black golfer. The most logical choice would have been Charlie Sifford, but his record as a PGA golfer was not strong enough to otherwise warrant an invitation.
Operating from memory here, but I recall that Charlie Sifford, responding to the affirmative action effort by the civil rights 'leaders,' told them to butt out and shut up. (I paraphrased there - Charlie Sifford was a gentleman, and he used words less harsh.)
I thought about Charlie when I read the words of Marxist Barbara Lee.

There is systemic bias among Democrats, the party of slavery, segregation and the KKK.
In 2016 when there were over a dozen candidates for the Republican nomination, two of the final four candidates that made it through all 12 debates were Hispanic (Rubio and Cruz).

Come up with someone of color, or whatever you want to call them, better than corrupt , brain-dead "men" and hysterical, potty-mouth harpies, or anyone with a room temperature IQ, and you may have something.
Problem is: They're all Republicans.
