The Starbucks manager who was fired when a cop at her shop received an order labeled “PIG” is considering suing the coffee giant for making her a “martyr,” she told The Post on Wednesday.
Lola Rose, a shift supervisor at the Glenpool, Oklahoma, location, is determined to “clear her name” after she claims the chain wrongfully terminated her in response to the coffee cup controversy.
“I really feel like I was made out to be a martyr,” Rose, 21, said during an exclusive interview. “This is a lot of slander on my part, a lot of brushing me under the rug.”

Background checks on gun purchases in the U.S. are climbing toward a record high this year, reflecting what the industry says is a rush by people to buy weapons in reaction to the Democratic presidential candidates' calls for tighter restrictions.

Americans received 7% more spam calls in 2019 compared to the year before, said Truecaller, a Swedish company that tracks spam calls, but hung on to their ranking from the last annual report.
The report Tuesday comes after efforts by the Federal Communications Commission to crackdown on robocalls, which are the No.1 complaint consumers make to the agency.

The head of Amazon’s cloud business is getting publicly involved in the company’s fight over a $10 billion contract to supply cloud services to the Department of Defense.
Amazon Web Services lost the contract to Microsoft’s Azure cloud business in October, a decision that surprised many industry experts given Amazon’s leadership in the industry. Amazon has now filed a suit with the US Court of Federal Claims contesting the decision. The company argues it was politically motivated by President Donald Trump’s dislike of Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and the Washington Post, which Bezos owns.

A religious discrimination lawsuit filed last month in federal court against a local union and Boston College is being hailed by anti-union groups for upholding individual workers’ rights — and railed against by union advocates who say it’s an attempt to weaken organized labor.
The plaintiff, a Muslim electrician and member of Service Employees International Union 32BJ District 615, informed the school and the union last fall that his religious beliefs conflicted with being part of the union. Washington - The Trump administration is tightening work requirements for the federal food stamp program in a move that will slash benefits for hundreds of thousands of people.
The final rule, announced Wednesday, will limit the ability of states to exempt work-eligible adults from having to obtain steady employment in order to receive benefits through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, which helps feed more than 36 million Americans.
Scaling back public benefits for low-income Americans has long been a Trump administration priority. The rule announced Wednesday is one of three proposals for cutting the food stamp program.

Three people have been arrested in Kentucky after their alleged involvement in the selling and purchase of a baby for $2,000, police said on Tuesday. Police said they made the arrests after receiving a tip from officials at a Bowling Green elementary school on Monday that a woman had given away a child. Attorney General William Barr reportedly disagrees with a finding by the forthcoming Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General (IG) report that the FBI had sufficient reason to monitor the Trump campaign in 2016.
The FBI conducted surveillance on Trump campaign associates, including foreign policy aide Carter Page, on the basis of suspicions that the campaign might have been colluding with Russia to interfere with the 2016 election.
No evidence of collusion was ever found, though the surveillance continued well after the election, and the fact that the FBI was investigating the Trump campaign over Russia was leaked to Democrats and to the mainstream media.

Ask most Democrats, and they will claim that it is their party that represents marginalized Americans, and specifically lower income black and Hispanic voters. This makes the Democratic Party’s near abandonment of charter schools, and the mostly minority voters who need them, one of the most politically perplexing shifts in recent memory. This movement away from choice, and the interests of the Democratic base, is not a new phenomenon in the party that lives or dies by the votes and campaign contributions of organized labor. Harvard Law School professor Noah Feldman, one of the Democrats’ star witnesses called to testify before the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, authored an op-ed in May lamenting the lack of seriousness surrounding efforts to impeach President Trump, and admitting that House Democrats “made it painfully clear that discussing impeachment is primarily or even exclusively a tool to weaken Trump’s chances in 2020.”

University of North Carolina Law School professor Michael Gerhardt will testify Wednesday at the House Judiciary Committee that President Donald Trump is guilty of impeachable offenses, according to a prepared version of his opening statement published by PBS.
Gerhardt is one of three Democrat “expert” witnesses invited to testify on the first day of impeachment inquiry hearings in the committee. Republicans were allowed to invite one.

And the story says the attorney general, William Barr, has told, quote, unquote, associates that he disagrees with Horowitz’s conclusion – it’s the inspector general — report coming week from yesterday, December 9th. That he, Barr, disagrees with Horowitz’s conclusion that the FBI had enough information in July, 2016 to justify launching the investigation into the Trump campaign.

On Wednesday, House Judiciary Committee chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) takes over as ringmaster for the ongoing impeachment show. He’s billing his opening act as an inquiry into the “historical and constitutional basis of impeachment” and “the Framers’ intent.” Nadler claims he’ll be looking into what the Constitution’s authors meant by “high crimes and misdemeanors.”

Based on everything we know about the committee’s past oversight efforts, statements by Republican committee members and the president’s defense team, and the details of the panel itself, one thing seems clear: Compared with the staid and productive fact-finding work conducted by the House Intelligence Committee over the past few weeks, this hearing will almost certainly be a disaster.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) on Tuesday said Senate Republicans may have to come together to pass a partisan set of rules for an impeachment trial if he cannot strike a deal with Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).
If the two fail to come to an agreement on a set of parameters for the impeachment trial, McConnell is likely to go to the Republican caucus to see who would vote alongside him, The Hill reported.

Previously, on ImpeachmentTV, the Intelligence Committee Democrats held a parade of hearsay witnesses, followed by the media dutifully reporting “BOMBSHELLS.” The Intelligence Committee partisans produced a report comprised of the witnesses’ fairy tales and voted to adopt the impeachment report and send it to the Judiciary Committee.
One of the most notable parts of this report is that the Democrats obtained some phone records. The records “detailed previously unreported contacts between President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, the White House, top House Republican Rep. Devin Nunes, and Hill columnist John Solomon.”
The name “All Things Considered” would suggest a wide-ranging survey of viewpoints on today’s issues. That’s the name of the taxpayer-subsidized nightly evening show that National Public Radio broadcasts to a national audience. So it is particularly maddening when NPR broadcasts yet another segment featuring a discussion among three anti-Trump pundits who seem unable to consider anything that doesn’t help NPR’s quest to take down the president.

The first lady’s performance in her difficult position has been entirely dignified and positive. She has not uttered an inappropriate word or made any awkward or unsuitable gesture, and enjoys quite widespread public approval. Nasty criticism of her in the media cannot be seen as anything but an indication of the malice and desperation of Trump’s enemies.

Days before Donald Trump was to be sworn in as the 45th president of the United States, Representative Maxine Waters called for him to be impeached for dubbing his opponent, "Crooked Hillary" during his campaign. Since name-calling doesn't qualify as high crimes or misdemeanors, the impeachment call fizzled, seen as another crazy Maxine rant. That was a mistake.
Just 19 minutes after President Trump was sworn in, the Washington Post announced, "The Campaign to Impeach President Trump Has Begun," this time for being rich. Every day since, networks breathlessly report new impeachment calls for tweeting, for unspoken words, for being an "inciter" of "hatred."

Google co-founder Larry Page has announced he will step down as CEO of Alphabet, the umbrella company that owns Google, YouTube and other former Google subsidiaries. His co-founder, Sergey Brin, will also step down from the company.
Page’s role will be filled by current Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who will become CEO of both Google and Alphabet.
Page and Brin co-founded Google in 1998, growing the company to become arguably the largest and most powerful tech platform in the world. They will stay on as shareholders and as members of Alphabet’s Board of Directors.
In recent years, the company has been the subject of growing accusations of political bias.
In their new book, Glenn Simpson and Peter Fritsch, co-founders of the controversial Fusion GPS opposition research outfit, admit their firm’s infamous anti-Trump dossier was not a “finished product.”
Yet that same dossier reportedly served as a roadmap for the FBI’s investigation into unsubstantiated and unproven allegations of collusion between Russia and Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Non-citizens traveling through U.S. airports have been required to get their fingerprints scanned and have their picture taken since the mid-noughties. American citizens have enjoyed the choice of opting out of this requirement. However, in a recent regulatory filing, DHS is pushing to require all international travelers — including U.S. citizens — have their photograph taken. “The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is required by statute to develop and implement a biometric entry-exit data system,” the proposal reads.
