House Democrats’ impeachment efforts are backfiring on them throughout the Midwest. Poll after poll is revealing how President Trump is gaining a stronger footing for re-election in key swing states. In Wisconsin, Trump is now more popular than he ever has been. Democrats have themselves to blame for increasing the odds of Trump’s second term through their Beltway focused impeachment hearings.
For Democrats to take back the presidency they need to win in the Rust Belt and the upper Midwest. Wisconsin, Michigan, and Pennsylvania (a combined 46 electoral votes) all went for Trump in 2016 and Trump barely lost Minnesota (10 electoral votes).

This Impeachment is going to be the biggest mistake ever for Democrats! From beginning to end it has been a Three Ring Circus! Now it's going to the Senate. The bad news for the Democrats is it's going to be slow walked so that everyone gets sick and tired of it. It's Christmas! We don't want to be talking Impeachment. We want to enjoy the Season! That goes for Both Parties! When it's all over, and Trump is still President, I would guess everyone will be mad as heck over the Millions spent for NOTHING! Schiff will forever be a Cartoon Character as will Jerry Nadler. Nancy is going to lose her dearly loved Leader of the Clan Chair and most Likely Democrats will lose the House because they have nothing to show for the two years they have been in charge but investigations. So, it's a gain for Republicans all around!

I hope you're correct #1, but never under estimate the stupidity of the American voter, mainly the brain-washed Rats.

I’d say that impeachment is backfiring everywhere except maybe SF, LA, NYC and Chicago and a few college towns.

The important question is, will impeachment backfire in Congress? Because if it doesn't, and they impeach President Trump, he can't be re-elected again. Then what?

It's backfiring everywhere I suspect. The old saying of people voting according to their wallet has never been so true until now. Minorities and democrats have it very well right now, and they do not appreciate democrats wanting to throw them back into economic despair. The recent rally in Florida? Allegedly, 1 in 4 of the attendees were democrat. That was a very full venue from the photos. I think those that are going to vote Trump next year are lying to pollsters and anyone else who asks. They saw what happened to Trump supporters in 2016. Can't blame them for not being honest with pollsters.

#4, I’m no Constitutional scholar but I don’t think that being impeached prevents one from being reelected. Especially under these circumstances.

And this is why there will be no impeachment...Nadler will make noise, drop a few "bombshells" for the shills to pitch, and drift off before Christmas, likely proposing censure complete with a nifty resolution. If needed, Pelosi can shoehorn a vote onto the calendar before the Christmas adjournment.

#6: Ummm, you should do a little research before you say such things. YES, impeachment DOES prevent someone from running for office again:
Article 1, Section 3, Clause 7 of the Constitution: Judgment in Cases of Impeachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgment, and Punishment, according to Law.
So are we going to start breaking the rules to get what we want, too? No, this needs to stop BEFORE we get to that point.

This situation has gone far beyond what the law states and since the democrats have used the law as a weapon against us we are morally right in using it against them. We will not accept the results of their kangaroo court and if they try to harm or impede Donald Trump in any way we will be at the front steps of every government building in Washington just waiting for them to try to get out. The democrats have proven themselves to be a bunch of jackals and will be treated accordingly.

"Party convicted"
Impeachment is an indictment. If President Trump were removed from office, via conviction in the Senate, he couldn't run for that office again.
But if the Senate acquits, he is free to run again.

Exactly, #10. And if what #8 said was true, how does she explain Alcee Hastings?

Before we start: I glibly suggested re-electing an impeached President Trump on another thread, which prompted useful correction from #8. So I went back and read many of #8's posts and have enjoyed them all. Which brought me here.
First of all, we are on the same page. I don't want President Trump impeached, removed or disqualified. And I agree we need to stop it at the source. However, those three things listed above appear to be separate events. The House can impeach but if the Senate doesn't vote to convict and remove, my reading is Trump could be re-elected in 2020.
It also appears that the Senate votes to remove and disqualify as two separate events. Which means, in theory, it might be possible for an impeached and removed president, who was not disqualified, to run for office again.
But the bottom line is, I agree with #8. Let's not find out.
