The Starbucks manager who was fired when a cop at her shop received an order labeled “PIG” is considering suing the coffee giant for making her a “martyr,” she told The Post on Wednesday.
Lola Rose, a shift supervisor at the Glenpool, Oklahoma, location, is determined to “clear her name” after she claims the chain wrongfully terminated her in response to the coffee cup controversy.
“I really feel like I was made out to be a martyr,” Rose, 21, said during an exclusive interview. “This is a lot of slander on my part, a lot of brushing me under the rug.”
Rose, who was mistakenly referred to by some outlets as Lola Price,

If it happened the way he says it happened, it sounds as if Starbucks was a bit too hasty in firing him.

I don't think he's a martyr. Maybe more like a scapegoat or a sacrificial anode?

More like fired for being a poor manager. She is in the early stagers of grief. Denial, blame, you know the routine. Long way to final acceptance of her part in the issue.

Tough one. As manager who saw something wrong he should've checked the whole order. OTOH, this is probably his first job, certainly as a manager, and I doubt the Starbucks training manual has a section titled, "Proper care and feeding of pigs", although it should given their history of this sort of thing. If the story is as he says then I think he was inappropriately fired but we'll never know the real story here.

Oh, please note, as the fired person seems to have been born with XY chromosomes the appropriate pronoun is "he", not "she".

"Rose" is a guy who pretends to be a girl........and is therefore almost 100% certain to be a seriously unhinged nutcase.
I seriously doubt that ANY of the things the HE says in the article have anything to do with what happened on that day.

You weren't made a 'martyr, sweetie; you're a scapegoat....rightfully so. You should've paid attention in class.

I'm not buying her story. At the very end, she blames the police chief for making a big deal over a prank. Obviously, she still doesn't take the problem seriously. As a shift supervisor, her only discipline to the employee who did this was to tell her "that wasn't cool"? Sounds like Starbucks did the right thing. "Cancel culture" works both ways, honey.

Actually, he was terminated for lying on her employment application. Instead of declaring himself as MALE, he checked off the box that says, FEMALE. Case closed. A divine intervention?

Insulting customers usually doesn't go over very well with business owners.

FTA: "This is a lot of slander on my part, a lot of brushing me under the rug.”
The sentence above is an embarrassment. Slander "on my part" means I slandered somebody else, and if it was written on Facebook the correct term would be "libel." The phrase is to sweep, not brush, things under the rug, and it means suppressing something unfavorable instead of dealing with it publicly, which is the opposite of what happened here. I think the intended meaning was "I'm being thrown under the bus." But who knows?
In fact, the whole thing is an embarrassment for everyone involved. The fired employee is working at a coffee shop to get free healthcare to pay for hormone treatments so the employee can pretend to be a woman. Given that, it's hard to take anything else this character says seriously. However, if the employee is telling the truth, it sounds like good faith efforts were made to try to fix the problem.
Meanwhile, even cops are snowflakes now. Police officers get paid, in part, to get shot at and decide whether to shoot others. What am I to make of a police officer who escalates what may have been just a silly joke gone wrong to this level public indignation? I don't want people that fragile protecting or policing me.
When I look around these days, it feels like I live in a world increasingly ruled by infants for the benefit of the insane. Essential virtues like self-reliance, tolerance, and forbearance in enduring the failings of others have been lost. Common sense is becoming increasingly uncommon and rare.
I'll take my coffee at home from now on.

Employment at will...and Starbucks has decided to end their association. That stuff should have never gone out the window to the customer. It was bad judgment, even knowing the officer. Would she have passed on something labeled "Fatso" or "Biotch"? Go sue, kid. And make sure the papers get your name right.

Misnomers from the fired shift manager: It's 'scapegoat', not 'martyr'. and 'sweep under the rug', not 'brush under the rug'.
And a misnomer about the fired shift manager: It's 'he', not 'she'.

The self-described "martyr" sounds like she may have a case. But, if so, it should be against her co-worker who she claims set her up. Stay tuned.
