The French have long been known as trendsetters and purveyors of fine fashion, but it appears that President Emmanuel Macron has started taking style tips from the most in-vogue European leader.Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has become an instantly recognisable figure amid the Russian invasion of his country, and has spent the past three weeks clad in simple khaki hoodies, jackets and t-shirts as he co-ordinates his country's defences. The Ukrainian leader has understandably ditched the suit and tie that would typically befit a head of state for more utilitarian attire as he splits his time between the presidential palace and the streets of war-torn Kyiv.

Vatican City - Russian Patriarch Kirill's full-throated blessing for Moscow's invasion of Ukraine has splintered the worldwide Orthodox Church and unleashed an internal rebellion that experts say is unprecedented.
Kirill, 75, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, sees the war as a bulwark against a West he considers decadent, particularly over the acceptance of homosexuality.
He and Putin share a vision of the "Russkiy Mir", or "Russian World", linking spiritual unity and territorial expansion aimed at parts of the ex-Soviet Union, experts told Reuters. What Putin sees as a political restoration, Kirill sees as a crusade.
But the patriarch has sparked a backlash

President Joe Biden attended the first in-person fundraiser of his presidency on Monday night, where he spoke to a small group of wealthy donors focused on climate issues and said the invasion of Ukraine was another reason to end dependence on fossil fuels.'Russia and Ukraine is another reason why we have to get off our dependence on fossil fuels. Imagine where we'd be right now, if in fact, Europe was energy free of fossil fuels, and we were in a situation where it was all renewables?' he said. The European Union depends on Russia for around a third of its gas supplies.

Israeli government websites crashed on Tuesday following an alleged cyber attack.
Several government websites were inaccessible including sites for the Ministries of Health, Interior, and the Foreign Ministry. The sites crashed due to a cyber attack, sources told Channel 11 News and Haaretz.
Israeli’s National Cyber Directorate declared a state of emergency while the attack is being investigated, Haaretz reported. The strike was the largest cyber attack ever carried out against Israel, a senior defense official claimed to Haaretz.

Ah, liberal media — their delusion is something else sometimes and chief among them are the Democratic apologists over at CNN.CNN had a piece on Monday telling us how all the “influential” Republicans are rushing to support Rep. Liz Cheney (RINO-WY) in her race in November. That there are so “many” that a fundraiser for Monday had to cap its guest list at 75. That would be about the number of folks in the line at the bathroom for a Trump rally among the thousands, and several of those 75 are Cheney family members. So who are some of those “influential” Republicans who are going to somehow revitalize Cheney in Wyoming?

An eyebrow-raiser that circulated on social media this weekend, partly because of its provenance and partly because it’s one of the rosier outlooks for the Pax Americana that you’re likely to read this year. The author, Hu Wei, is the head of a think tank in Shanghai. That’s not to say that he speaks for the Chinese government, of course, but since his analysis wasn’t suppressed, it implies that his advice is within the Chinese government’s Overton window about how to proceed on Ukraine.
A tantalizing mystery about Russia’s war is what the Chinese knew of it in advance. They seem to have understood that something was coming,

50 years from now when many of us are long gone, I think it’s a sure thing that the mainstream media are still going to be obsessing about former President Donald Trump and how he in their view tried to “steal” the 2020 election and was allegedly involved in instigating the January 2020 Capitol riot, which The Usual Suspects frequently (and wrongly) refer to as the “insurrection.”
It’s a topic that “Meet the Press” anchor and noted Democrat apologist Chuck Todd often revisits, which was the case when former Attorney General under Trump Bill Barr stopped by for an interview to talk about, among other things,

Is there some beef between him and Tucker or does Levin simply find Carlson/Bannon-style nationalism repellent? Not that I blame him.

Fortunately for parents in the Sunshine State, that hasn’t deterred Gov. Ron DeSantis from defending the bill and touting it as the latest legislative session in the state draws to a close.
During a Monday press conference, DeSantis talked up the accomplishments of the Florida legislature during the 2022 legislative session, and in particular praised them on their efforts on the public education front, specifically on the “Stop WOKE” act and the parental rights bill,

Judging by the reaction from peers in media, you might think Maria Bartiromo said something incorrect on Sunday when she noted, “Some people have told me over the weekend that they feel that at the end of the day this administration does not see Putin as the enemy, they see him as a partner on many issues.”
It’s hardly a stretch to imagine someone mentioning that to Bartiromo because it’s true. There hasn’t been a Republican governor of New York since George Pataki, who was first elected in 1994 and would be reelected twice more. Conventional wisdom says that New York is a deep blue state, and a Republican couldn’t possibly win a statewide election there now. Not so fast. According to an internal poll from Rep. Lee Zeldin (R-N.Y.), the presumptive Republican gubernatorial nominee, Zeldin could beat Gov. Kathy Hochul.
According to the poll, which was conducted by John McLaughlin & Associates, Zeldin leads Hochul 45.5% to 44%, with the rest undecided. Zeldin’s lead is within the margin of error, which means the race is a dead heat.

But in reporting from far-left outlets at Daily Beast and Rolling Stone, the headaches over Jeff Zucker aren’t over and, when it comes to CNN’s future, plenty will need to be looking over their shoulders.
Writing last Tuesday, March 8, the Daily Beast alleged incoming CNN boss Chris Licht has sought “a cease-fire on his network’s aggressive” and “forceful coverage” of Fox News.

Any new agreement that "does not have strong bipartisan support in Congress will not survive," the senators said in a statement issued Monday and provided to the White House. California legislators — Democrats and Republicans — are in rare agreement: It’s time for the state to repeal a racist, classist provision in the state Constitution that makes it harder to build affordable housing. Article 34 was adopted in 1950 amid a discriminatory backlash against public housing. It requires that cities get voter approval before they build “low-rent housing” funded with public dollars. And yet, lawmakers have been hesitant to put the Article 34 repeal on the ballot. An attempt was dropped in 2020 and revived this year for the 2022 ballot, but it may be postponed until 2024. The

None of the characters consulted -- a grab bag of various clowns such as a dog-make-up specialist, a guy who said his own name over and over, AnnaLynne McCord, the blonde Hollywood ditz who recited Putin poetry claiming he needed a better mother

Last August, Joe Biden abandoned Afghanistan to 13th century barbarians. The result was and is an ongoing bloodbath. Getting out of Afghanistan may or may not have been a good move, but the way Biden did it was destructive and disgraceful.
Biden’s generals told the press that they recommended to Biden a more orderly approach. Biden denied that. He essentially said his generals are liars.
Paradoxically, Biden simultaneously contended that his cut-and-run was “an extraordinary success.” If he believes that, then why doesn’t he say, “Yeah, the generals recommended a more measured withdrawal, but I was smart enough to override them in order to obtain this extraordinary success.”

Last Tuesday’s video town hall on the proposed $13.9 billion Hudson tunnel, part of Amtrak’s $34 billion Gateway boondoggle, was going to be a cheerleading session for the special interests of the construction companies and their allies, but Amit Bose, head of the Federal Railroad Administration, poured cold river water on the party. Not only did he and Federal Transit Administration chief Nuria Fernandez offer no promises on Washington dollars, they again and again ticked off the long list of tasks for us locals to get done. The bistate Gateway Development Commission must be completely set up to handle the biggest such project in history. But GDC has no executive

Harriet Hageman, the GOP congressional candidate waging a primary challenge against Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., with the backing of former President Donald Trump, argues in a new digital campaign that the Republican incumbent is out of touch with voters and is "obsessed with her personal war" against Trump. In a new digital ad by Hageman’s campaign that was shared first with Fox News on Monday, the candidate charges that Cheney is "not representing Wyoming, she’s not representing our values. Let’s send her home, to Virginia." An accompanying spoof website set up by the campaign is titled "Cheney for Virginia."

Dozens of TikTok “influencers” were given a White House briefing on the Russia-Ukraine war, Thursday, the Washington Post reported. In a Zoom call, National Security Council staffers and White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki reportedly provided to “30 top TikTok stars” the Biden administration’s talking points on “the United States’ strategic goals,” and answered a number of questions.
According to WaPo internet technology reporter Taylor Lorenz, “millions” of people are turning to the Chinese-owned social media app for information about what is going on in Ukraine.
TikTok videos offered some of the first glimpses of the Russian invasion and since then the platform has been a primary outlet for spreading news to

Bill Maher is not a conservative. In fact, on many issues such as the role of government and religion, Bill Maher is on the far left. But one thing Maher is not is a leftwing panderer. He is a liberal, but in the classic sense, and he doesn’t pull punches when it comes to criticizing a public figures: left, center, or right. He welcomes debate and the exchange of ideas, he’s adamantly opposed to cancel culture, and he also has a keen sense of rationality about him. Such was the case yesterday when he appeared on Ben Shapiro’s Sunday Special.

From the beginning of COVID two years ago, health authorities and the media have been preaching “follow the science,” but what they don’t say is that it’s not medical science that they are following but instead political science.
How else does one explain sudden new rules and recommendations, contradicting past “settled science,” regarding everything from natural immunity and off label therapeutics to the futility of masks and social distancing. It seems that overnight the science changed with this viral pandemic due to an upcoming election and the convenient distraction of Russian-Ukrainian war.

Anybody want to take bets that Joe Biden will know what to do when the next crisis hits? His presidency is one crisis after another, and his record, well...
The next crisis is bound to be a doozy.
Based on Russia's horrible war against Ukraine, grain and fertilizer prices are skyrocketing and shortages are on the way. Ukraine's and Russia's customers already are hoarding supplies. Based on the little-discussed stories out there, this crisis is bound to be felt in all countries, and looks certain to happen. Joe, of course, is nowhere to be found on this, as we shall shortly see.

A Russian man was not lovin’ it that McDonald’s was about to shutter it stores in the country amid the invasion of Ukraine – so he chained himself to one of its eateries in Moscow in a last-ditch attempt to keep it open.
The Golden Arches fan, identified as Luka Safronov, was filmed staging his protest hours before the burger giant was set to temporarily close its 850 restaurants in Russia, the Mirror reported.
“Closing down is an act of hostility against me and my fellow citizens!” Safronov reportedly yelled as customers flocked inside to grab their last Big Macs and other staples before the chain closed down its operations.

Former Democratic North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp pushed back against criticism of President Joe Biden as gas prices soared across the U.S. on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” Sunday.
“You always blame the party in power, and the administration isn’t aggressive enough in my opinion of pushing back on the red herrings,” Heitkamp said. “The red herrings like ‘it’s because you didn’t build the Keystone XL Pipeline’ and I remind them the first things Donald Trump did was give the permit and in four years the pipeline didn’t get built because it wasn’t economical to build that pipeline in those price points,” she began.

While the Democratic Party has gone all-in endorsing critical race theory (CRT) being taught in school — and claiming opposition to it is racist — Robert “Beto” O’Rourke has opportunistically flip-flopped on the issue as he wages his futile campaign for governor of Texas.
“I think you and I are probably both on the same page as well. We don’t see CRT being taught in our schools right now,” O’Rourke told an attendee at a townhall event in Victoria, Texas Friday night. “It is a course that is taught in law school.” [Tweet] Make no mistake about it: Beto O’Rourke supports CRT. Up, up and you pay. The average U.S. price for regular-grade gasoline at the pump soared a whopping 79 cents over the past two weeks to hit a record $4.43 per gallon on Sunday.
That exceeds by 32 cents the prior all-time high of $4.11 set in July 2008, AP reports.
Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey said Sunday the new price is still some way from the inflation-adjusted record high of about $5.24 per gallon.
The price at the pump is $1.54 higher than it was a year ago, with plenty of consumers pointing directly at President Joe Biden and his policies.

Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey, a Democrat, has claimed that, despite an abundance of evidence showing that “clean” energy is currently neither as reliable nor as efficient as traditional energy, America should invest in it right now instead of the latter.
He made this bold but dubious assertion while delivering a speech this weekend at the Democrat National Committee’s winter meeting.
“Republicans and their oil-soaked cronies … want to feed the American people one of the biggest lies of all – that drilling for more oil and more gas is the path to energy independence,” he said during his speech.
“Republicans say that they have an all-of-the-above plan,

In 2020, President Joe Biden declared war on oil and gas in America. In a Democratic primary debate, Biden declared, “No more subsidies for the fossil fuel industry. No more drilling including offshore. No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill, period. It ends.” High gas prices are all part of his plan.
The other day, Biden declared that there was nothing his administration had done to raise prices or restrict drilling. Actually, there have been plenty of regulatory measures taken and offshore leases curtailed. More importantly, Biden declared war on fossil fuels.

What was the violation? According to Google, the article contained “unreliable and harmful information.” What does that mean? Dig deeper and here’s how Google describes this particular violation:

Little Italy merchants are screaming “Mi offendo!” after learning Gov. Kathy Hochul awarded a $20 million economic and tourism grant to their Chinatown neighbors, The Post has learned. Civil leaders in Little Italy said they weren’t even asked to jointly apply for the state grant even though their businesses suffered alongside Chinatown’s during the COVID-19 pandemic. “After what our nation has experienced in the most recent past concerning issues of equity, who would believe that the State of New York would favor one ethnic Manhattan community, in this case Chinatown, to the detriment by exclusion and apart from its neighboring ethnic community, Little Italy?”

Virtually all Americans believed, until the inauguration of Donald Trump as president on January 20, 2017, that when someone became president, he could begin to implement his agenda. Certainly Old Joe Biden’s handlers have done so with a vengeance since they took over; but when Trump became president, he immediately began to encounter resistance from entrenched members of the government bureaucracy who refused to do as he ordered. Some worked actively against Trump, while the establishment media assured us that these self-appointed “deep state” saboteurs were the courageous guardians of “our democracy.” At his South Carolina rally Saturday

For a sense of how alarmed House Democrats are about the upcoming midterms, consider what they want President Biden to do about their failed legislative initiatives. According to an Associated Press report, caucus leaders are “urging him to issue executive orders that could push their proposals forward without votes in the House and Senate.” Due to intraparty ideological disputes, the Democrats have been unable to pass important bills and therefore have very few accomplishments to talk about when they face their constituents in November. Consequently, they want the President to bypass the Congress and impose their stalled agenda on the nation by fiat.

The shifting sands of Democrat gubernatorial candidate Beto O’Rourke’s gun control plans have solidified, for now, into a pledge to buy back AR-15s and AK-47s from Texans if the state legislature will support doing it.
O’Rourke spoke with Texas Tribune CEO Evan Smith on Saturday and KVUE reported O’Rourke’s comments.
Smith asked O’Rourke to clarify his position on confiscatory gun control.
O’Rourke stressed his belief that citizens should not be able to buy a AR-15s, then said: “And if I can find the consensus within the Legislature to have a law in the state of Texas that allows us to buy those AK-47s and AR-15s back, we will.
