Virtually all Americans believed, until the inauguration of Donald Trump as president on January 20, 2017, that when someone became president, he could begin to implement his agenda. Certainly Old Joe Biden’s handlers have done so with a vengeance since they took over; but when Trump became president, he immediately began to encounter resistance from entrenched members of the government bureaucracy who refused to do as he ordered. Some worked actively against Trump, while the establishment media assured us that these self-appointed “deep state” saboteurs were the courageous guardians of “our democracy.” At his South Carolina rally Saturday

Sounds good. And while he's at it, he should go after setting term limits on everyone. These jobs were never meant to be for life. They were supposed to be for someone to serve one or two terms then go back home.

Public service unions should be busted up for the good of the country. There are two types of public servants. The ones who get into low level jobs and are incompetent or lazy but know their job is secure because of the union support. The second type is the ideologically driven who make government their career in order to push forward their leftist agenda. These are in the upper echelon of agencies and they are the ones who wreak havoc for political purposes because they can, Neither group should have any place in government.
While we are at it, one thing that is needed is independent audits of each and every agency to prevent fraud and waste. It is shameful what some of the agencies get away with. Government employees are too confident in their ability to keep their jobs despite their lack of a worth ethic or integrity. If anyone has any significant interaction with a government agency, the arrogance alone is shameful. The entire system is a mess. I challenge anyone to point out an agency or department that not be fired immediately if it were in the private sector. If President Trump did one thing during his administration, he exposed just how corrupt this government is on so many levels.

Move more government agencies out of DC...they are toooo politicized. Start electing business people instead of politicians. Trump proved business people get more accomplished than permanent politicians. Trump proved DC sewer is far worse than anyone realized.

You can't move the needle when you put deep state operatives over the FBI, CIA and DOJ.
He had deep state republican advisors in his ear the whole time.

This could easily be accomplished by massive budget cuts across the board, with the President authorized to implement them by all means necessary.

President Trump missed the boat on Day One...he should have sent US Marshals into every office run by a democrap and had them frog marched out the door, without a security pass, laptop, cellphone, data stick or piece of paper...

Trump's biggest mistake, he did not flush out the RINOs and deep state when he took office. He thought these very people would be loyal to him. See where it got him.

One thing for sure Trump brought the real sewer in DC to the surface.. Whether anyone can do anything is questionable....it's very deep, corrupt, filled with permanent politicians, fake media, untrustworthy courts & government agencies & Big $$$ corporations ... the fake media is the main cheerleader. One sided justice in full view. Why do you think they did 2 impeachments, Mueller mess, hearings hearings hearings...they wanted Trump gone... he never fit in & he didn't need their Big $$$ or power. ...

We've moved so far from the real truth about civil service jobs that it's laughable. The clue is in the middle word "service." In the past, the jobs didn't pay well, and the whole idea was service to your real employer, the People of the city, state, or federal government that employed you. Not the president. Not the governor. The People. That credo allowed public servants to work to the best of their ability, even during an administration they did not choose. Now the jobs are cushy and "service" is an afterthought. So sad.

For his second term, President Trump should not only be able to fire any federal employee (after all, Biden does that now with his vaxx mandate), but summarily execute them as well.
I'm looking at you, Nancy and AOC

Laughable...no, it is. Most key positions are appointed, and are not protected by the "merit system". They serve at the pleasure...and are already fireable. And who's going to do it? The President will stoop to fire Ms Smith-Jones at the Social Security Office in Dubuque for a mean letter to the editor?
The basic problems/solutions are these -
1) Restore the pre-reform Hatch Act and strengthen the Office of Special Counsel charged with enforcement. Politics in virtually any form was prohibited, with instant discharge a common penalty for even minor infractions.
2) Restore merit as the cornerstone of employment. Withdraw from the Luevano decree that prohibited testing (racially biased, you know) and bring back the PACE or similar exam. Let's allow the Federal courts to deal with that case again.
3) Restore DUTY as the core value in recruitment, not merely "employment". Many administrative jobs would be outsourced to automation and contractors. Those remaining on the Federal payroll must understand and accept the concept of duty in performing their work. Today, even the military is all about just having a job.

Trump should have tracked all his orders for compliance, any resistance should have been met with immediate Termination and loss of Pension, PERIOD. Failure to follow orders is not a protected activity.

OK, civil servants have been known as "feather merchants" for generations because they spend most of their time feathering their own nests. Anyone who has worked with feather merchants know the whole system is a game, a vile game, controlled by the federal unions. None of the rules make any sense unless you are on the inside where feathering is paramount. There are some solid federal employees but their number is far exceeded by those who live by the motto, "good enough for government work" and there you have the problem. I can think of no way to control the unions without congressional action. Trump can try to fire the deep state but they know they only have to outlast him to win. Make that impossible!

Term limits for all gummint employees. That will save trillions in pensions. Gummint service should resemble Jury Duty.
Tie gummint spending to 10% last years GDP, period.
Institute Right to Privacy and eliminate illegal data mining and surveillance.
Break up Big Tech.

PDT isn't beholden to the deep state for his success. deep state can't control PDT.
PDT probably knows more about the illegal deeds of the deep state than we know about.

I support firing the bureaucrats. Unfortunately, the Republican Party does not support smaller government. And Trump, one option is not to hire a back stabber to begin with. Please vet your employees in future.

Lets not forget that a lot of that resistance was the result of Obama moving many of his political appointees into GS positions before the end of the administration. So, his political activists were in government positions and were effectively able to resist whereas if they had remained in appointed positions they would have lost their jobs upon transition.
