President Joe Biden attended the first in-person fundraiser of his presidency on Monday night, where he spoke to a small group of wealthy donors focused on climate issues and said the invasion of Ukraine was another reason to end dependence on fossil fuels.'Russia and Ukraine is another reason why we have to get off our dependence on fossil fuels. Imagine where we'd be right now, if in fact, Europe was energy free of fossil fuels, and we were in a situation where it was all renewables?' he said. The European Union depends on Russia for around a third of its gas supplies.

Yeah, Joe--just imagine battery-driven jets falling from the sky, refugees from Ukraine in cars headed for Poland, stalled half-way because they can't find a charging station, converting Ukraine's thousands of miles of grain fields full of solar panels instead, and how about those battery-powered tanks?

Meanwhile inflation spirals out of control climbing higher and higher. But hey, we're saving the planet! Nothing more moral than that!
Don't give any of these jerks the moral high ground.

Joe "Dementia" Biden
"While some declines in memory such as occasional forgetfulness may be common in older age, noticeable differences in memory and thinking, as well as changes in behaviour or personality may be early signs of dementia."

Nobody is going to end our dependence on fossil fuels. Biden may end our dependence on American produced fossil fuels for a couple of years, until he is gone. Oh God, please release us from this devil.

Russia controls a big chunk of nickel, necessary for battery production. Parts of Africa contain rare earth minerals also used in batteries.
Wars over those elements would likely be even more intensive than war over oil.
Asking Dementia Jo to understand that is like asking a four year old to understand Plato.

What part of we don't have the minerals to produce all of these batteries for all of these imaginary electric vehicles don't these idiots understand? There aren't enough mines in the world and in the process of producing these batteries, huge amounts of pollution is created. Why are most of these batteries made in China? Because China has no pollution controls because they don't give a s about pollution. If batteries were produced in the west, the pollution controls alone would more than double the cost of an electric vehicle.

When these elites or elite wanna-bes ground all the private jets, get rid of their oversized , air-conditioned and fossil (?) fuel heated homes, sell off every vehicle except their electric vehicle and start cooking over wood fires, maybe I'll listen to their arguments!

Non sequitur. The Resident, as usual, makes no sense economically or strategically. He's a weak, stupid, immoral, demented man. What we really should do is ramp up our production of "fossil fuels" (which come from the deep earth, not from the earth's crust) and get rid of wind and all large scale solar installations, as well as biofuels including corn ethanol. The entire Green energy system should be abandoned. Too wasteful, too expensive, and not enough energy produced. And, as #7 says, so called fossil fuels are renewable. The energy is there in the deep earth, and it will continue to be pushed outward into the earth's crust until the death of the planet.

Even their vaunted Paris Accord, would only meet their goals in the year 2100 (78 years from now).
There is no consistent, dependable and reliable alternative, at this time, and they know it
And, the current use of high-priced Tesla's and solar panel installation on a home, are generally for the wealthy.
Yet, the world is awash in oil, even Antarctica has massive oil reserves, there is massive amounts in Alaska, off-shore, etc... The United States has so much natural gas, which is clean burning, it would take hundreds of years to use it all.
We should be helping people in Europe by providing them with more U.S. oil. We should be turning on the oil producing areas which would reduce the price quickly.
We should be pushing the idea that technology will help reduce fossil fuel emissions.

#23 is correct regarding "fossil fuels"..the biggest lie of the greenies. When they discovered oil in Pa, it bubbled pull from a depth of a couple of hundred feet. It was assumed to be the dead dinosaur deposits of decayed giant lizards and mammals. Sinclair Oil had Dino as a mascot, offshore drillers had Shell oil, the mastadons couldn't escape the La Brea tar pit in the middle of LA off Wilshire Blvd. But by darn, we'll just call it fossil fuel.
I find it stupid to believe a planet based upon carbon life forms would think only fossils of extinct animals can be the only rationale to call it that.
I've drilled for oil to a total depth of 900 feet, drilled many a well to a TD of 4, 000 feet and did a few in West Ok at 14,000 feet. I guess those dinosaurs liked to bury their dead pretty darn deep.
