A Russian man was not lovin’ it that McDonald’s was about to shutter it stores in the country amid the invasion of Ukraine – so he chained himself to one of its eateries in Moscow in a last-ditch attempt to keep it open.
The Golden Arches fan, identified as Luka Safronov, was filmed staging his protest hours before the burger giant was set to temporarily close its 850 restaurants in Russia, the Mirror reported.
“Closing down is an act of hostility against me and my fellow citizens!” Safronov reportedly yelled as customers flocked inside to grab their last Big Macs and other staples before the chain closed down its operations.

They shouldn't close, stay open and have TVs on showing the customers real news while they eat, maybe provide open internet as well.

Invade the Ukraine if you wish Putin, but the people draw the line when denied their McNuggets.

Russia already said they were seizing McDonald's assets when they leave. They'll re-open the Golden arches as the "Yellow Streams" in honor of the "Pee" tapes and call them McPutin's...

A lot of the McD's food is different than the US menu in Moscow. Their big burger is, IIRC, the "Royal" which is kinda like a Quarter Pounder. IIRC, there is no analog to the Big Mac, which is fine with me, I never liked the Big Mac, ate one, ever and decided 'never again'. Fries are essentially exactly the same. You have to PURCHASE every packet of ketchup, no free ANYTHING, because the Russians steal it all. Want mustard on your chicken sandwich, ask for it and they sell you a packet to put on yourself. Drinks have no ice, Russians think that ice is ripping you off, getting less drink, and there are NO free refills, for certain.
It's OK and I ate at the Russian McDs for lunch on a Saturday or Sunday unless out at some museum or something, to save money.
The TGI Friday's was just down the street from our hotel, just like a US one, waiters/waitresses with same aprons, pins all over, like here. There was the Amerikanski Bar & Grill, down a block and around the corner. They actually had great American food, too.
And over a block the other way in a courtyard was a no-lie stainless steel sided American diner. IIRC, the Starlite Diner. Lots of outdoors seating space since they totally overflowed the original diner. Waitresses in Happy Days style diner outfits, all American style diner food, pretty well done. Heavy plastic curtains in the colder months around the outside area.

Lots of other American food in Moscow within a few blocks of the Grand Marriott Tverskaya where we usually stayed. A great German restaurant with wonderful brats and other sausages, too, about across the street from the Americankski B&G.

Russians have endured bad governments for generations. But it would be funny if losing fast food restaurants is what leads to the overthrow of Putin and his cronies.

Your government poisons and murders dissenting expatriates? No problem. Invade the sovereign nation of Ukraine? Whatever. Tries to take away your McNuggets? Tyranny!
