As COVID deaths wane and the virus appears to be losing its virulence, restrictions imposed during the height of the pandemic are beginning to be lifted. The latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows that most Americans believe the restrictions are largely being eased for political reasons, not science.
The latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows strong sentiment in favor of ending the limits imposed on Americans’ lives due to the COVID pandemic.
Among those queried, 29% they felt that restrictions were being lifted “too slowly,” while 29% said they were being taken down “at the right time.” Less than a third, or 32%, said they thought restrictions were coming off “too fast.”
For those who in the group that thinks we are getting back to normal too fast:
please feel free to continue to wear your double mask when you walk outside
please continue to stay 6 feet away from me
please shelter in place in your home when you feel at risk
please get on some meds for anxiety

There should never had been any restrictions. Still waiting for the governors to explain why they murdered so many seniors by putting infected people back in the senior homes. Those were the most vulnerable. Still waiting to hear from Biden why the border is wide open with no restrictions for the invaders along with no testing. This whole thing was one dangerous farce which caused so much damage to society, caused so much damage to our children. The disadvantaged children are now further behind. The shots killed and maimed people. In normal times they would have been pulled long ago but instead citizens are losing their jobs if they don’t get the shot. All these restrictions have let us know though who the wannabe dictators are which is a good thing.

It is my belief the implementation of restrictions was political and not science based in the first place. So we're just correcting the first mistake.

In DC a run up to an election changes everything with the DC “UniParty” politicians as more than anything they want to stay in political power.

For poops sake I'd put that at 99.7% since virtually all the the restrictions were politics to begin. Indeed lifting them once the political purpose is met or no longer being served is pure politics.

ALL of Covid protocols wee driven by politics. It was a smokescreen to change laws directing the use of mail in ballots. That were then eploited to produce fradulent votes and overthrow a legitemately elected President. I am actually terrified by how so many Americans were duped by the mask & vaccine mandates, to say nothing of the 4 year non-stop barrage of interference and distraction during Trump's term in office. Even today, I can see old accquantences on FaceBook accing Trump of wrongdoing while they blithely-if at all-mention how expensive everything has suddenly gotten. THERE ARE NONE SO BLIND AS THOSE WHO WILL NOT SEE.

Bottom line - it’s an election year. The demonrats, who are expecting to get stomped in November and who inflicted all of the covid nonsense on the country, know that people have had enough of it.

I get that leftists have taken a fascist approach to governance and used 'science' and fear as their mantra to fool people into compliance. Did they truly believe that could keep the lying ongoing forever? Eventually even the CDC and NIH statists were going to fold and tell the truth even if the media didn't. Did they really think we would not react in anger and hold them accountable?

What are the results of the poll that asks if all restrictions and lockdowns were all dictatorial, illegal, stupid, costly and unnecessary?

Since the Covid restrictions were not "science based" when they were applied then their removal is not science based. They were initially forced on us under the promise that it was "two weeks to flatten the curve". This meant we needed to avoid the spread of the infection for two weeks so the hospitals could handle the flow. Science did not support this and we now know that most of what we thought then was wrong. They were continued in place for political reasons, to give more power to progressive governors, so removing them is political and right.

As soon as the election is over, they'll find some reason to restart them, again, too.

A question should be asked: Is Dr (I am science) Fauci driven by science, and if so, which one: real or political?

Masks were as useful as wearing a bone through your nose, but less attractive.

It is indeed politics, for we are in an election year that could turn out to be a massive blowout in favor of republicans. If people still need to wear a mask, I say go for it. But leave the rest of us alone.

The lifting of the mandates and restriction ARE political.
Almost exactly as political as their implementation in the FIRST place.
It has ALL been Kabuki Theater. All of it.

It's not surprising that many believe the lifting of restrictions is being driven by politics. I wonder, though, what portion of those people thought the implementation and enforcement of restrictions WEREN'T driven by politics. People with partisan cynicism are truly gullible. No political ideology transcends human nature, nor human subjectivity.
