is that drilling for more oil and gas
is the path to energy independence

Massachusetts Sen. Ed Markey, a Democrat, has claimed that, despite an abundance of evidence showing that “clean” energy is currently neither as reliable nor as efficient as traditional energy, America should invest in it right now instead of the latter. He made this bold but dubious assertion while delivering a speech this weekend at the Democrat National Committee’s winter meeting. “Republicans and their oil-soaked cronies … want to feed the American people one of the biggest lies of all – that drilling for more oil and more gas is the path to energy independence,” he said during his speech. “Republicans say that they have an all-of-the-above plan,

Then this would be the first time in the history of mankind that increasing the supply and availability of a commodity did not cause the price to decrease. When supply outstrips demand prices fall. If the US were to produce more energy than it needed [like recently, during the Trump administration] then the US would be energy independent and a net exporter. The US, Canada, and Mexico could increase production of energy rather than having biden administration diplomats beg hostile countries Iran and Venezuela for more energy.

The socialists' attempts to force green energy on America will fail, and miserably so. The reason is the same as the reason why socialist governance has failed in its every other application, ever, anywhere in the world. Reason: the collective free market is immensely more intelligent and efficient than any bureaucrat or federal agency could ever be in selecting winners and losers in any market (e.g., energy in this case). They're simply in a different league, like the Junior High JV squad versus the College All-Stars. Case in point: Pete Buttigieg, current Sec of Transportation, USA, whose preparation for this role was 8 years as the mayor of South Bend, Indiana, who wants us all to buy electric cars in response to skyrocketing gasoline prices. The flaming ignorance and detachment of the guy is obvious to any objective observer, but of which he is completely unaware. He's drunk so much Biden kool-aid it has turned him the color purple.

Every once in a while over the past years, ever since he was in the House, I have taken note of things he has said, and every sentence that came out of his mouth has been stupid. He bathes in stupidity. Did I say he was stupid? And what can you say about a state that votes into office Markey and Lieawatha? Stupid is as stupid does!

Markey’s correct. He knows that Biden received fewer honest votes than President Trump yet was the winner in 2020. So in Democrat think, less oil and nat gas means lower prices. It’s simple, and if you question Biden’s mad policies, Homeland Security will label you a terrorist.

Who is going to finance people who can't afford to buy a $30 or $40K electric car and find a place to charge it/ Who will go around and drag people home when the temperature goes below freezing and their cars won't work? The hysterical wing of the Man-made Climate Change (formerly, Man-made Global Warming) cult has been claiming that in 10 years we will not recover unless we go green now. They have been making this claim for at least 40 years. If the weather is warmer than the year before -- proof of Global Warming. If the weather is cooler than the year before -- proof of Global Warming. When it was pointed out that both of these statements could not be true logically, they switched to calling it Climate Change. That way, no matter which ever way the weather went, they had it cover. And, they are adamant that solar intensity has nothing to do with it. Meanwhile, a whole lot of money has been spent with very little to show for it. Can you all say Solyndra? (If you don't remember, Solyndra was given a lot of taxpayer money to develop solar collectors and later went out of business, but only after enriching a number of Democrat supporters.)

Up, up and you pay. The average U.S. price for regular-grade gasoline at the pump soared a whopping 79 cents over the past two weeks to hit a record $4.43 per gallon on Sunday. That exceeds by 32 cents the prior all-time high of $4.11 set in July 2008, AP reports. Industry analyst Trilby Lundberg of the Lundberg Survey said Sunday the new price is still some way from the inflation-adjusted record high of about $5.24 per gallon. The price at the pump is $1.54 higher than it was a year ago, with plenty of consumers pointing directly at President Joe Biden and his policies.

In 2020, President Joe Biden declared war on oil and gas in America. In a Democratic primary debate, Biden declared, “No more subsidies for the fossil fuel industry. No more drilling including offshore. No ability for the oil industry to continue to drill, period. It ends.” High gas prices are all part of his plan. The other day, Biden declared that there was nothing his administration had done to raise prices or restrict drilling. Actually, there have been plenty of regulatory measures taken and offshore leases curtailed. More importantly, Biden declared war on fossil fuels. Joe Biden has said that he’s doing everything he can to work on the issue of rising gas prices. At the same time, he’s also said there wasn’t much he can do, and has blamed it on Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine. Biden tried to blame it on oil companies, too, claiming they have permits but aren’t drilling enough. Talk about completely not taking the blame or the responsibility for anything. Sen. Joe Manchin (D-WV) – the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee chair – busted those lies, saying there’s a lot that can be done — starting with getting stalled pipeline permits approved.

Democrats have got nothing to run on for re-election. And that’s eating at the politicians who’ve been casting about for a catchy slogan that would fit on a bumper sticker and sweep the country. Originally, the Biden people thought that “Build Back Better” would carry them to victory. But it’s become apparent that BBB is the punchline to a joke and wouldn’t be useful. Some Democrats hit upon the brilliant slogan “Democrats Deliver!” but the White House polled the tagline and found it came in near the bottom of other suggestions. Given what Democrats have “accomplished” so far, Republicans could easily make a mockery of that slogan. “Deliver what?” they might counter.

One such sea creature was unearthed in the Bear Gulch limestone formation in 1988, and from there was donated to Canada’s Royal Ontario Museum, apparently without anyone taking a second glance at it. More recently, Christopher Whalen, a paleontologist

Only 59,011 illegals were deported his first year in office. This was the lowest number since 1995. (Snip) Now Mayorkas is working on a very important project. Rather than shut down the border, Mayorkas released new rules on “extremism”.

Who's the best woman? USA Today has declared a string of wokesters for its 2022 'Women of the Year' honors, and one of them is Dr. Rachel Levine. Seems you need to be born a man to achieve excellence in womanhood these days. Being an actual woman is no longer enough. The awards are absurd, given that not many of the women on the list have actual accomplishments -- they're there because they're victims, like Simone Biles, radical activists like Janet Murguía, promoters of bad things like recreational marijuana, like Roopali Desai; people who deny the obvious, like fashion editor Nina Garcia who

President Joe Biden reassured donors Monday that he would use his executive powers to act on climate change, even as energy prices are at record highs. “The climate crisis is the existential threat. That’s not hyperbole; it’s a fact,” Biden said after taking the podium at a Democratic National Committee Fundraiser in Washington, DC. Biden promised to take “aggressive” executive actions on climate regulations even if the Supreme Court overruled him. He acknowledged that progress on the issue of climate change was difficult to achieve in Congress, hinting that donors could help him pressure lawmakers.

Former Democratic North Dakota Sen. Heidi Heitkamp pushed back against criticism of President Joe Biden as gas prices soared across the U.S. on “This Week with George Stephanopoulos” Sunday. “You always blame the party in power, and the administration isn’t aggressive enough in my opinion of pushing back on the red herrings,” Heitkamp said. “The red herrings like ‘it’s because you didn’t build the Keystone XL Pipeline’ and I remind them the first things Donald Trump did was give the permit and in four years the pipeline didn’t get built because it wasn’t economical to build that pipeline in those price points,” she began.

The Senate on Tuesday passed a bill to make daylight savings permanent from November 2023, and will now go to a vote in the House. The new legislation called The Sunshine Protection Act means that Americans will stop having to change their clocks twice a year in a ritual that was first adopted in 1918. The bill was led by Democratic Sheldon Whitehouse and his Republican colleague Marco Rubio, who has said the move could reduce crime, childhood obesity and stress.(Snip)The measure still needs approval from the House of Representatives and the backing of President Joe Biden. On Sunday, most of the United States resumed Daylight Savings Time,

Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan is planning trips to Iowa and New Hampshire. Rep. Adam Kinzinger, R-Ill., is considering a rough timeline for a potential presidential announcement. And allies of Rep. Liz Cheney, R-Wyo., are openly talking up her White House prospects. More than two years before the next presidential election, a shadow primary is already beginning to take shape among at least three fierce Republican critics of former President Donald Trump to determine who is best positioned to occupy the anti-Trump lane in 2024.

Democrat midterm campaign chief Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney (D-NY) over the weekend in Philadelphia said his party is the “problem” as to why they are having trouble relating to the voters. At the House Democrats’ retreat, Maloney, head of the Democrat Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC), said that as much as everyone says, “The problem is not the voters… The problem is us.” He made the statement during a part of the conference weekend that was supposed to be designed to forge unity, Washington Post reported. “They think that we’re divisive and too focused on cultural issues. They think that we’re preachy. They think that we act like we know better than parents

Bombing a maternity hospital, shelling residential buildings, firing on fleeing refugees, and destroying any infrastructure that supports the lives of innocent civilians … are all war crimes under international law. Whoever is involved in the chain of command that gave the orders – all the way up to the head of state – can and should be charged. This means Russian President Vladimir Putin must be indicted for war crimes. (snip)Historically, the gathering of incriminating evidence has been both difficult and time-consuming. Mitt Romney has disgraced himself by reacting hysterically to a tweet by former Representative Tulsi Gabbard calling for a ceasefire in Ukraine around the US-funded biological laboratories where hazardous pathogens exist. Romney, to his eternal disgrace, accused her of “treasonous lies.” Treason itself is a death penalty crime, but perhaps in the Senator’s mind “treasonous lies” are a different offense. (snip) The existence of such labs in Ukraine was confirmed by Under Secretary of State Victoria Nuland last week in congressional testimony (snip) The World Health Organization (WHO) last week warned of the hazards of the labs:
