Paris—Hundreds of empty, parked cars go up in flames in France each New Year’s Eve, set afire by young revelers, a much lamented tradition that appeared in decline this year, which saw only 874 vehicles burned. The number of cars burned overnight has declined compared to New Year’s Eve 2019 when 1,316 vehicles went up in flames, Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin said Saturday on Twitter. Fewer arson attacks occurred because of massive police presence on cities’ streets this New Year’s Eve, enforcing law and order and restrictions on public gatherings and wearing face masks as infections driven by the fast-spreading omicron variant surge, he said.

The owner of the business commissioned a local artist to create the tasteful and fetching display of patriotism. The Salem City Council has ordered him to remove it, or face fines of up to $200 per day. The artist, Mario De Leon, raised the alarm in a Facebook post: What’s up everybody. The city of Salem is forcing @valleyroofingoregon to remove the mural I painted or to give the mural to the Salem art society.

Jacob Lang has been awaiting trial without bail in the D.C. jail for his involvement in the January 6 riot at the Capitol for almost a year, along with many others who have been charged with crimes connected to that day. With no trial date in sight, he and his fellow inmates languish in a jail they say is inhumane. The J6 prisoners’ complaints about filthy conditions and inhumane treatment resulted in a surprise inspection that found everything they were saying was true. As a result, over 400 prisoners were moved to different facilities—none of them J6 prisoners. Lang has been in contact with PJ Media and several other media sources

It’s New Year’s again and time to hope for a happier future. Last year at this time we were hoping for a better year in 2021, but that sure as heck didn’t work out, did it? Forget the damage done to the economy by the hapless and relentlessly clueless “Joe Biden” regime. Forget the Biden-made disasters at the Mexican border and in Afghanistan. The worst mistakes the Biden administration made were in its failed “War on COVID.” Biden, Dr. Fauci, the blue state governors, the CDC and the government’s so-called public health experts were wrong about everything – the high cost of lockdowns, the efficacy and safety of vaccines, the protection provided by cloth masks,

As Long Angeles crime spirals out of control, even some of the city's wealthiest residents have flocked to Beverly Hills' only gun store to buy firearms to protect themselves and their belongings.Beverly Hills Guns first opened by appointment only in July 2020, and has seen upscale residents from Santa Monica to the Hollywood Hills increasingly in a panic following some high-profile smash and grabs and violent home invasions in recent weeks, Los Angeles Magazine reports. Many are self-proclaimed progressives who've never even held a gun before, but who've been so spooked by soaring crime in the famously wealthy enclave that they've decided to arm themselves.

The cruise ship industry has been hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, much of their pain and suffering has been self-inflicted, driven by their mindless following of pointless federal dictates. That has most noticeably manifested itself in the implementation of so-called “vaccine passports.” Of course, vaccine passports do not actually accomplish anything. New York City not only has a vaccine passport system, but they also have a vaccine mandate. Still, they lead the nation in new coronavirus cases as of this writing. But the fact that everyone spreads COVID — and that vaccine passports made no sense — is not new information. And when Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida

Just after the ball dropped on Saturday, former NYPD officer, state senator and Brooklyn Borough President Eric Adams was sworn in as the 110th mayor of New York City. Adams takes over from Bill de Blasio, who leaves amid a spike in crime and a 10-year high in murders across the five boroughs at the end of his second terms and whom Andy Cohen on CNN sent off by saying 'sayonara sucker!' De Blasio's approval rating was as low as 25 percent in September, according to one poll. The former cop - who held up a photo of his late mother while being sworn in -

White people infected with COVID in New York State—the hardest hit state in the country—are in jeopardy of being turned away from potential lifesaving treatments in favor of other more at-risk races because of a national shortage of two promising types of medical treatments. In a shocking memo sent out by the state's Health Department and approved by Gov. Kathy Hochul on Monday, white residents were told not to bother trying to get Pfizer's Paxlovid pill or monoclonal antibody treatments. 'Non-white race or Hispanic/Latino ethnicity should be considered a risk factor as longstanding systemic health and social inequities have contributed to an increased risk

After all the chaos and arguing, after a season of two College Football Playoff first-timers, and just when it looked like some new blood could break through to the top tier of the sport, it’s Georgia and Alabama. Again, and emphatically so. The third-ranked Bulldogs clobbered No. 2 Michigan, 34-11, at the Orange Bowl in Miami Gardens, Fla. on Friday night to set up a rematch of the SEC title game in next Monday’s national championship game. Georgia will try to win its first national title since the halcyon days of Herschel Walker and 1980, and its coach, former Alabama defensive coordinator Kirby Smart,

Center for Vaccine Development director Dr. Peter Hotez said Friday on CNN’s “The Lead” that because the Omicron variant is so transmissible, “we should anticipate widespread social disruptions over the next few weeks.” Hotez said, “This Omicron variant is so transmissible, it’s like nothing we’ve seen before among COVID variants. Almost as transmissible as measles which is probably the most common highly transmissible infectious agent that we know. So the message is if you don’t want to get COVID, keep your gatherings really small. Surround yourself with vaccinated people. This is not the year for big New Year’s parties.

A hopeful note on which to end another lousy year. Maybe — maybe? — we’re emerging from the tunnel at long last. South Africa appears to have passed the peak of its omicron variant-driven fourth coronavirus wave, the country’s cabinet announced Thursday, adding that there was only a “marginal increase” in fatalities, which remained low compared to previous spikes… The country’s medical system has capacity to provide “routine health services,” authorities said in a statement Thursday, adding that the government would roll back certain pandemic control measures…

This seems to be the day for dealing with slimeballs on the left. First, we had liberal media stalking Sen. Ted Cruz’s 13-year-old daughter’s Tik Tok account to try to attack him, even though she didn’t even say anything particularly controversial. But how slimy to try to use a child in such a way. Then, there was the conspiracy theory about Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis — yes, another one, don’t they ever stop? Democrats and liberal media have been trying to claim that DeSantis has gone missing. Now, he’s only missing in their minds. But it’s quite something to watch such desperate mania unfold like this. They created a fantasy,
