US faces domestic air travel meltdown:
FAA warns it could be forced to cancel
flights if Omicron hits its 14,000 air
traffic controllers and warns to prepare
for MORE delays

The Federal Aviation Administration on Friday warned that even more flights could be canceled as its air traffic control staff are hit by COVID, even as airlines themselves nix thousands of flights because of staff felled by the Omicron variant. In a statement, the FAA said an increasing number of its employees are testing positive for the virus, CNN reports, which could force it to implement health and cleaning procedures that will reduce the number of available flights. 'To maintain safety, traffic and volume at some facilities could be reduced, which might result in delays during busy periods,' the administration warned. The FAA doesn't actually schedule flights

Comments:

I guess this is what Biden meant when he said he was going to "shut down the virus."

I canceled my cross country trip for a couple of reasons. I hate wearing masks at all and to have to wear one for that many hours isn't healthy. With all your canceling of flights, no thanks. I don't want to take a few days to get back home. All hell broke lose when some airline CEO's said masks weren't needed on planes anymore because the filtration systems were excellent. Seems a lot has happened to the airlines since that was said just a few weeks ago. Pull it together airlines, and use your common sense. So people are getting a cold now, so what. Also, not serving alcohol on flights just doesn't make sense. You serve other beverages and some people are terrified of flying but do it because they have to. Think at lot of the problems on airlines is that some people have too much to drink before they get on the flight to help them last through it. Let's just get back to normal - live our lives and don't be afraid of getting ill. When was the last time you knew someone who actually had a cold? As been said before, mix the letters up and it spells moronic for the latest variation.

The airlines no doubt lost thousands of customers over the holidays. I used to be a frequent business flyer who racked up all kinds of miles but one day, sitting in O'Hare late at night due to a canceled flight with the next available flight going out the following morning, I stopped that nonsense. I rented a car and drove home and haven't flown since. Now, if I can't drive there, I don't go.

It's too bad the Air Traffic Controllers union (NATCA), yes, they have once that replaced the Reagan era PATCO, totally caved and didn't challenge or even make any noise about the vaccine mandates for all federal employees including ATCs. Most federal employees across the nation, unless your job requires you to be in the workplace such as ATC, safety inspectors, etc., have been working remotely since April 2020.

Joe Biden has been in the Oval Office (or that weird set in the Eisenhower building’s South Court auditorium with the greenscreen windows) for a year now, and he’s already managed to make his short presidency known for a long line-up of scandals, botches, and slip-ups. It’s too hard to narrow the list down to one top failure, although his disgracefully handled Afghanistan withdrawal may be the most sobering and inflation may be the one that played the biggest role in Biden’s tanking approval ratings. Even though Biden’s mess-ups tally up to far more than 12, it’s not hard to remember a Biden-enabled disaster

Video footage recently surfaced on Twitter showing C4 explosives being dropped by a drone near a town in Michoacán, Mexico, reportedly by members of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, following hours of clashes between armed groups. In the video, a small explosion hits a woodland camp, a cluster of tents amid dense trees and dirt roads. Men scatter, running for cover. Another volley of explosives is released. When it hits, the camp erupts in flames. The drone lingers, its camera darting around, zooming in and out over the camp as it burns, like it’s looking for something.

“So, we’re going to actually follow the law fully this time,” Delaware County, Pennsylvania’s Christina Perrone told fellow election-related workers during a Zoom meeting after the November 2020 election. This video—the latest obtained by The Federalist—provides yet another example of widespread violations of election law during the last presidential election. Regina Miller, a contract worker for the large Pennsylvania county, filmed the video of the April 7, 2021 Zoom meeting, which involved voting officials discussing plans for the upcoming elections, according to sources familiar with the recording. The video began with Perrone, who, according to a lawsuit filed against her,

For a while now, I’ve noted the development of what seems to clearly be turning into the 21st-century version of the Axis of Evil. It’s composed of Russia, China, North Korea, Venezuela, and arguably Turkey. All of these repressive governments have been growing increasingly aggressive on the world stage and simultaneously seemed to become increasingly comfortable supporting each other where possible. Two of the members, China and Iran, took the process one step further this week, announcing a 25-year “cooperation agreement” between Beijing and Tehran. During the same announcement, China formally reiterated its opposition to the United States and international sanctions against Iran.

Many on the political right oppose so-called “Big Government” due primarily to the tyranny it inevitably inflicts on its citizens, and we’re seeing scary examples of the phenomenon in real-time. Examples of such autocracy include vaccine and mask mandates, jury intimidation (see the Derek Chauvin trial), and unapologetic assaults on our First Amendment right to free speech. But there are other aspects of Big Government that are both infuriating and repulsive, one of which is its inexcusable waste; and we saw a ridiculous example of such waste last week.
