AOC Staffer: Israel a ‘Racist European
Ethnostate Built on Stolen Land’

One of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) staffers called Israel a “racist European ethnostate built on stolen land” in one of his social media posts. Hussain Altamimi is a legislative assistant to Rep. Ocasio-Cortez, who joined the office last month. He reportedly shared a picture of himself with the Congresswoman on Instagram, adding the caption, “New beginnings,” in November. Altamimi used his Instagram account to target Israel, a key middle eastern ally to the United States. In a Christmas Eve Instagram story, Altamimi wrote, “Israel is a racist European ethnostate built on stolen land from its indigenous population!”

Wow the ignorance and ineptitude of this AOC's group of people is staggering. Stolen from who? Didn't the Jews settle there after their exodus from Egypt (Approx..1400BC). Was there a group of people that preceded them? And if you use that standard is everyone of land stolen from the previous inhabitants? I pray that the idiots that elected this embarrassment masquerading as a US Representative come to their senses.

Very easy to tell others to give back theirs. Ya know people have been fighting over land forever on this earth. Who ultimately gets it? And is saying that who gets what is HER decision to make? Arrogant B-word. Suppose someone else disagrees with her? Who is the ultimate arbitrator?

As far as I know the Israelis have every justification for living there that exists in international law and if the Palestinians manage to eject them on the basis of the reasons they have given, the entire world, all of it, will go into an uproar, because here is the Israeli case: yes, the Arabs lived there but they were not the first.... the Jews lived in Israel before the Arabs did, they were ejected by the Roman Empire, the Arabs were invited by the conquerors to move in and they did. Since then, the Arabs were conquered and their conquerors gave the land back to Israel. The UN ratified it. Israelis in many cases if not all paid the people who owned specific land parcels. Furthermore, there have been four wars about it, and the Israelis won all of them. Without US aid in case Altamimi is going to raise that. Furthermore, the reason the Israelis have nowhere else to live is that the Arab countries ejected them from the countries of the region in 1947, and 1956 from Egypt. The were allowed 100 pounds per person So in short, the Jews are the oldest inhabitants, they were given it by the former colonial power, they won it by war, they had ownership ratified by the UN, and hey bought it. Also, they live there now, they have improved it - they made the desert bloom, they do allow other races to live there, and if they have a two-tiered system so do their competitors. For God's sake, leave them alone.

'Jaw-Dropping' Gains for GOP in Florida

Florida Republicans outnumber registered Democrats for the first time in the state’s history, as Blue State COVID refugees tick the Big R on their voter registrations. Twitter user TimDCpolitico took Florida’s voter rolls from March 31 of 2020 and compared them to the latest figures. The results, he says, are “jaw-dropping,” and I can’t think of a better way to describe them. Out of over 14 million registered voters, last year Democrats held the edge with 37.38% of registrations compared to the GOP’s 35.28%. (The remaining four million or so — around 26% — were independents or members of minor parties.)
The Zero Covid Problem 12 replies

One of the unresolved debates of the pandemic era is whether the zero-Covid public health strategy is the correct one. This strategy can be loosely defined as driving Covid-19 as close as possible to zero through strict control measures so that community transmissions no longer appear and, should that happen, be quickly re-suppressed. Initially, even Europe and the U.S. tried this (remember two weeks to flatten the curve?) but quickly gave up with the emergence of new variants, although through 2021 a number of small, or easily isolated, countries persisted in the attempt. As 2022 dawned, however, even these were giving up.

Many of my conservative friends are spinning their wheels with pea-shooter-gauge measures against China—kicking Chinese companies out of the U.S. stock market, for example. On Dec. 10 the U.S. government canceled an initial public offering for the Chinese AI startup SenseTime, whose facial recognition software may help Chinese authorities identify Uyghurs. Two weeks later SenseTime moved its IPO to Hong Kong; it rose 44% in the first two days of trading. China has a trade surplus, $3.2 trillion in reserves, and a 40% savings rate. It is an exporter, not an importer of capital. American capital markets are a convenience, not a necessity for Chinese companies.

There has been a lot of publicity around Joe Biden’s poor approval ratings, but I think his actual standing with the electorate is worse than they indicate. Take, for example, the Rasmussen survey, which I think is valuable because 1) unlike other polls, it samples likely voters, and 2) it polls constantly, publishing a three-day rolling average. Thus, whether the numbers are “right” or not, they are a good indicator of trends. In Joe Biden’s case, the trend has been obvious: his approval rating quickly dropped to around 42%, and there it sits. But I don’t believe that 40+% of voters, surveying the wreckage of the last year, actually think

In December, Russian state-owned gas provider Gazprom slowed gas flows transported through the Yamal-Europe pipeline to Germany and reversed the flows’ direction from westward to eastward.
