Oregon Business Owner Ordered to Remove
American Flag Mural on Private Property

Original Article

A business owner in Salem, Oregon, painted a mural honoring the American flag and the Marines who raised it at Iwo Jima. Most observers considered it a beautiful memorial and an attractive use of an otherwise nondescript wall. The owner of the business commissioned a local artist to create the tasteful and fetching display of patriotism. The Salem City Council has ordered him to remove it, or face fines of up to $200 per day. The artist, Mario De Leon, raised the alarm in a Facebook post: What’s up everybody. The city of Salem is forcing @valleyroofingoregon to remove the mural I painted or to give the mural to the Salem art society.

Comments:

Leftists!! If I had the money, I'd offer to pay the $73k per year fine, just to leave it up!!

Actually we no longer have any right to claim kinship the men who fought on Iwo Jima. We are now a nation that had to beg China to keep sending us paper masks because we were terrified and we certainly could never make masks - or anything else - ourselves.

If they're making up the rule as they go, don't pay the fines. Put them in court instead. Tell your fellow citizens what this will cost them in extra taxation. Leftists don't believe they are elected to serve; they think they are there to rule. FTA: "The Salem City Council has recently undergone a progressive makeover, with several longtime conservative council members having retired. This appears to be the result."

You Reap what you Sow! These new City Council Members were Elected! If the Voters had wanted Conservatives (to take the place of retiring Conservatives), they would have voted them in! So, Maybe they can get enough signatures on their Petition, but who knows! Oregon is a pretty Blue State! I think they will have a fight on their hands to get the Council Members to Back Down! Do I think the Owner should have to take down the Mural? Absolutely Not! But then I live in the Free State of Florida where I wouldn't think something like that would happen! Good Luck to those who are on the side of the Owner, I hope the have the numbers to win their Case!

The overflow from overpopulated California first went north to Oregon and Washington but now there is a troubling move eastward. One never hears about anything good coming from that migration. The east is having a similar problem with New York. We need to expand that old rule, "you broke it you fix it."

The city of Salem has a number of bureaucrats who have been drunk on their own petty power a lot longer than the pandemic has been going on. There was a case of a lady who had a dog grooming business, and instead of a sign, she put a large dog statue made out of that foaming insulation on her roof. The city went round and round with her on this. So many areas in Salem that are actual traffic hazards, yet they waste time and money going after people like these two.

Nobody deserves this government, the problem is that we have mail in ballot voting, and that allows for democrat fraud. Same kind Pelosi wants to shove down the nation's throat. Yes, people get what they vote for, but they don't deserve what happens in return. Nobody does. Until we can read minds and hearts like God does, you just have to go on what those candidates say, then hold their feet to the fire if they lie.

No government should be allowed to use these outrageous fines as a way to suppress free speech. Fascism is out of control at all levels of government and its bureaucracies. The solution - remove their money. It ls time to shut off their money.

The cruise ship industry has been hit hard during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, much of their pain and suffering has been self-inflicted, driven by their mindless following of pointless federal dictates. That has most noticeably manifested itself in the implementation of so-called “vaccine passports.” Of course, vaccine passports do not actually accomplish anything. New York City not only has a vaccine passport system, but they also have a vaccine mandate. Still, they lead the nation in new coronavirus cases as of this writing. But the fact that everyone spreads COVID — and that vaccine passports made no sense — is not new information. And when Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida
