The Department of Justice asked a federal judge late Tuesday to temporarily block Texas’ new heartbeat abortion law.
The department claimed in its filing that the state had passed the law, which allows private citizens to sue providers that perform abortions after a fetal heartbeat can be detected, “to prevent women from exercising their constitutional rights.”
“This relief is necessary to protect the constitutional rights of women in Texas and the sovereign interest of the United States,” the department said in its brief.
The emergency motion seeking a preliminary injunction against the law comes less than a week after the Biden administration filed a lawsuit against Texas
The Democrats’ $3.5 trillion infrastructure bill would break President Joe Biden’s pledge not to increase taxes on working-class Americans.

Iranian security guards have physically harassed several female United Nations atomic agency inspectors at a nuclear facility over the past few months, diplomats say, and the U.S. has demanded that Iran stop the behavior immediately.
The previously unreported incidents at Iran’s main nuclear facility, Natanz, allegedly included inappropriate touching of female inspectors by male security guards and orders to remove some clothing, the diplomats said.

In the decrepit, doddering Joe Biden era, the odor of decay, decadence and borrowed glory from the entitled ruling class is the order of the day based on what was seen at last night's Met Gala, "the party of the year" according to the New York Times.
Nobody embodied that better than Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who wore a custom-designed white evening gown graffitied with 'Tax the Rich' in red spray paint on the back of it, just perfect for an event brimming with the superrich. She knows they like that 'beat me, beat me' vibe.

It is prompted by this story, out of Portland State, of a professor who is leaving the academy after enduring one vicious and disgusting attack after another: swastikas (and feces) on his office door, lectures disrupted, slanderous attacks on his family life, institutional denial of the most basic rights of the accused—indeed, hatred from the very people who should be rewarding him for his courage. He is no conservative. He seems to have no notion of truth outside of the realm of strict rationalism. He and I would disagree about many things. But he has a mind, and he uses it, and therefore he is dangerous.
CNN contributor Jill Filipovic must have a direct line to the PR shop inside the Biden White House. That would explain her desperate attempt a few days ago to blame Republicans for the worrisome economic signs we are seeing. Expect more of this sort of fact-free nonsense as the economy struggles in the weeks and months ahead.

You hear it, too. In private conversations with people they trust, American citizens are heaping contempt on doctors for forcing a narrative on us that had no basis in science. Many of us, perhaps even the majority, immediately recognized this virus for what it is -- a common flu virus
A popular catch-phrase among pro-Trump patriots is: “Nothing can stop what is coming.”
This is based on the theory that there are things quietly going on behind the scenes, that President Trump still has a hand in what is happening today.
Perhaps he is laying a giant trap for Democrats and the deep state establishment. Or perhaps the military is in control under the theory of devolution.
Or perhaps, this is all delusional wishful thinking.
