Corporate tax increases are necessary for the U.S. to better compete globally, U.S. Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo told Yahoo Finance Live in an interview. House Democrats are out with a proposal to raise the tax rate on companies with income of at least $5 million to 26.5%. “If American business is going to compete, we need these investments,”

Taxes as investments? Sure, it's the Mafia all over again, you know, the scene where "Big Guy" (tailored suit, maybe eating ice cream) walks in shadowed by "Button Man" (hand on bulge under arm) and says "Nice business you got here, Uncle Sam, be a shame something happened to it. Let's talk investment. Want an ice cream?"

You cannot raise taxes on a corporation. It will reduce costs in order to stay competitive. Usually by either reducing its workforce, raising prices or both. Raising taxes on "a corporation" is effectively raising taxes on any citizen who uses the corporation's services or products. Raimondo is a Harvard educated Rhodes scholar... quite the whiz kid.

Secretary Gina knows full well that once our rootless globalist corporations move as much capacity as possible outside the USA, seeking lower costs of doing business, there won't be any good jobs for all the kids with broadband connections and expensive educations. Yet just by chance, everything our government does is to the detriment of the nation, almost as if they're dismantling it from within.

“If American business is going to compete, we need to ..." confiscate 26.5% of every dime they make. It would not be fair to other nations businesses for us to NOT cripple our own. So...we will take MORE from them than the Communist Chinese take from theirs...EXCEPT in states like the Presidents own Deleware, where businesses can still hide an not pay any local/state taxes, by writing off their fed taxes dollar for dollar, or the opposite in many other Dem States, write off every locally extremely high tax dollar from their Fed Taxes.

I have taken the time to calculate-precisely- the amount businesses have paid in taxes for last year, the last 10 years, the last 100 years and since the beginning of time. I shall now report those numbers: Adding together the 4 columns, I come up with the grand total of: $0.00. BUSINESSES DO NOT PAY TAXES, THEY COLLECT THEM.
