Pentagon defends drone strike in Kabul

The Pentagon defended a deadly August drone strike in Kabul on Monday – despite a report that the attack actually killed an innocent man and his family. The second of a pair of drone airstrikes in the waning days of the Afghanistan war is now being investigated by Central Command, but details are scarce and there remains a question of how much information will be shared once the probe is completed. “I would say that the assessment by Central Command is ongoing and I’m not gonna get ahead of that,” Pentagon Press Secretary John Kirby said during a news briefing on Monday.

It was a total screw up. There is no defense. The Pentagon did not know the Afghan army would fold in a day? I don't think the think tank, and political guys at the Pentagon have ever been to Afghanistan. The Pentagon is nothing but affirmative action, diversity CRT, white supremacist erasers. I wonder if the Pentagon is going to erase the history of all those white soldiers dying in WWI and WWII. What a bunch of cowards and AH's.

These people work for Mark Milley...there is no way there is a modicum of integrity anywhere near this bunch. I hope they do not contemplate anyone believing their story. Don't you miss the days when there was such a thing as an "Officer and a Gentleman"? That phrase and it's meaning was taught at West Point and Honor was a virtue. Alas...The Milleys of the world have control at this point in time.

It’s another daily example of how this administration is running roughshod over all aspects of our lives. They can act without fear of any consequences. They don’t care what conservatives or Hannity or Fox News says about them. They have their base of Trump haters and the media, and really, that’s all they need. They can withstand withering criticism from the right because in the long run, they hold the reins of power. And Newsom will win and they will be further emboldened. We are in for a very rough ride for the next three years. Forget the midterms…the fix is in.

Nobody believes anything any agency of this government says. That fact at this time is a sad truth. But in the event of a real national crisis, it could be catastrophic. In the Gulag Archipelago, Solzhenitsyn says that if the government announced that a certain factory produced 100,000 pairs of shoes in one month, you didn't hear that and think that the actual number was probably 50,000. You knew that it meant that the factory produced no shoes at all. We are finding out what it is like to live under that kind of regime.

These bozo clowns with Mike Medals Milley leading them they blow up a family with a drone they have to go investigate to come up with a story that the father was a mastermind of the suicide bombing which kill 13 American soldiers. No doubt that will make everything “OK” with enough “needy” Americans who never even heard of Afghanistan to get Biden and his crew past the Biden retreat and surrender to the Taliban in Afghanistan.

This drone attack that apparently killed that Afghan family is just an example of the gross mistakes that will occur frequently if Biden’s “Over the Horizon” military strategies in Afghanistan against terrorist organizations are ever implemented. Remember to surveil and attack terrorists in Afghanistan both manned and unmanned US CIA and military aircraft must fly up to eight hours from bases in allied nations or from aircraft carriers just to reach suspected ground targets in parts of Afghanistan along with using aerial refueling assets. When unmanned drones are used they will receive little reliable intelligence from assets on the ground in Afghanistan, with the unmanned aircraft being flown and controlled from as far away as Creech Air Force Base in Nevada. Now it is being reported that the Chinese Communists are negotiating a so-called Status of Forces Agreement with the Taliban Government of Afghanistan to take over and use the former American modernized Bagram Airbase in Afghanistan. If that happens the Chinese will no doubt move substantial military assets into the Bagram Airbase and will set up, an air defense zone over Afghanistan to protect the Taliban from future American air attack. Since Biden has shown throughout his political career that he is a political surrender clown, that Biden political history, including Biden opposing the Navy SEAL mission to capture or kill Osama bin Ladin, clearly shows there is no way that Biden would ever approve US CIA and military aircraft to fly through a Chinese Communist air defense zone over Afghanistan to attack suspected terrorist targets, and risk those aircraft being shot down by Chinese interceptor aircraft or missiles.

There was only one way to ensure victory in Afghanistan. That is to use total war strategies and tactics designed to take out the Taliban once and for all, in other words when you find a Taliban you do not take a prisoner, but you immediately annihilate him on the battlefield, which is everyplace in Afghanistan. When all the Taliban are dead you can then claim victory. It’s the height of naïveté to believe that the primitive Islamist based Taliban is going to reform itself into a modern diverse organization that will embrace Western views of democracy or society. Since the Western democracies are unable or unwilling to use total war strategies and tactics against Islamist terrorist organizations such as the Taliban, they will never be able to win wars against those tribes in primitive countries like Afghanistan, and are much more likely to end up importing masses of covert Islamists into the Western democracies.

As you look at the stories, remember this context (emphasized as a reminder):(snip)Factually, President Trump’s strategic approach toward foreign threats and foreign intervention (through the use of geopolitical economic pressure) was a major paradigm shift that removed the Defense Department from a primary role, and placed them back into a more appropriate ‘contingency’ role when it came to foreign policy and national security. It was obvious from the outset of the Trump administration that the Pentagon did not like that position.
