President Joe Biden’s administration assessed “thousands” of lawful permanent residents of the United States remain in Afghanistan following the tumultuous evacuation of Kabul, according to Secretary of State Antony Blinken.
“I think the best estimates are that there’s several thousand green card holders in Afghanistan,” Blinken told the House Foreign Affairs Committee on Monday.

Antony "Betrayal" Blinken needs to protect Joe "Dementia" Biden and will lie to do so.
Jake "Screw-Up" Sullivan, National Security Advisor, has buried himself into obscurity not wanting to be found.
Two pukes that STILL go about their merry way. Yet......
No one, including them, resigns. Lying has become a way of life for Lloyd Austin and Mark Milley.

A 'lawful US resident' is not an American citizen. Sympathy for these folks being in a horrible place, but we aren't responsible for everyone.

If they helped us, we owe them.
If you want to be cynical about it then think on this: if we are known to leave helpful locals behind to be tortured and killed when we get bored and leave then next time locals won't help us.
I prefer we go by the moral first reason but the second is there for those of you only interested in global power politics and not real humans.

The Taliban are killing all the leaders that worked with us. The Biden administration is responsible for all this blood letting. The Biden administration left Americans behind. The Biden administration has to pay for what they have done.

#4-If we did not bring over the Afghan people who helped us then WHO did biden bring over? Just people who wanted free everything forever? If they each get $1,250 per person per month and you have a family of 7 with 5 kids and hubby and wife that is over $8500 per month. And they probably get free healthcare and have to take NO VACCINE. Such a deal.
They will probably tell us we have to implement what they just left.

We don't owe them American citizenship, #4. The purpose of them helping us was supposedly to secure their own country, not come to ours.
If you want to give them a lift out of the country to some other muslim country, fine. We don't need them here.

My question is: you know this and I know this, but do rank and file Democrats know this? Or is this news being suppressed? Until the real news gets out there, nothing is going to change.

Antony Blinken is running neck-n-neck with Hilary Clinton as the worst Secretary of State and he's only been on the job nine months. The State Department needs a major reorganization and many need to be fired.

As bad as most of us know this collapse has been, it's much worse than that. We are too close to this historical event to assess it properly. It is the darkest, most shameful episode in American history. Hundreds, and probably thousands, of American citizens were abandoned by Biden, left to the mercy of the merciless Taliban. They will be killed outright, or held as hostages in future negotiations. Never before has the United States of America turned its back and walked casually away from American citizens in dire straits. Billions of dollars of military equipment and supplies have turned a ragtag bunch of terrorists into one of the best armed fighting forces in the world.
The Joint Chiefs of Staff can need to be carted around in wheelbarrows for the weight of all the medals with which they festoon themselves. Milley would be a joke if it were not all so tragic.
We think of collapsing empires in terms of Emperors who fiddle while Rome burns, or preside over epic orgies. We have a president who doesn't know where he is half the time and whose arrogance is exceeded only by his stupidity.
God help us.

So why did we leave behind those who helped us for 20 years? The government wants us to trust it -- with our money, with our health, with our sources of power (electricity, gas, etc.), with out lives, etc. Can no one see why people do not trust government?
This Afghanistan betrayal is just one more -- MASSIVE -- example of why people do not trust the government. I am not anti-vax person; I wish everyone would get it. BUT I understand why people do not trust it. There are so many examples -- Afghanistan being a current and MASSIVE example -- of why government has not earned the people's trust.

Sorry to disagree, #4. We here helping the Afghans. They were helping themselves. Seems like soneone "owes" us after we invested 3000 military lives, $8 TRILLION, and 20 years of effort in support. Did the Afghan Army "owe" the US to cover its withdrawal? Did the Afghan government "owe" the US to stick around rather than steal hundreds of millions and flee? Compare the "heroics" of the Afghans in defense of themselves to the true heroics of the 911 first responders and plain citizens we recently celebrated.
Surrender has its consequences, and the submissives are re-discovering the godly virtues of their new masters. Their evil is not unknown nor unexpected.

“We are not going to allow flights to land where we don’t know what security protocols have been taken, whether people have been vetted, who is on these — who are on these planes,” --- Right. It is an impossible situation which you have carefully arranged.

As Christians we are taught to love and not hate, but we are to HATE EVIL. And what Biden/Obama did in Afghanistan is EVIL! We hate this EVIL government! Never thought we would ever hate our government this much, but these lying Marxist Communists are worthy of our hatred. May God have mercy on their souls, and if they will not repent of their sins, Lord remove them quickly before they destroy completely our beloved country. Amen.

The term “lawful US residents” means in the context of Afghanistan, those people who are Afghan citizens who have been granted US resident alien status (issued green cards) so that they can live and work in the US indefinitely, as long as they supposedly comply with the US Immigration laws including maintaining their residence in the USA. Clearly the vast majority of the “lawful US residents” now in Afghanistan are Afghan citizens who decided on their own to return to Afghanistan and reside there, indefinitely, or for how long who knows? That is after becoming “lawful US residents” and with the Taliban’s quick take over and Biden’s surrender to the Taliban are now said to be “stuck” in Afghanistan. How many Afghan citizens now “stuck” in Afghanistan who are considered to still be “legal US residents” is anyone’s guess.

Instead of splitting hairs as to legal status of those Afghans who helped us, we need to consider the peril every Afghan who lifted a finger to assist the US diplomats or military is in relative to the Taliban and ISIS. Biden was a young Senator when the US abandoned the entire Hmong people in Laos, despite their years of fighting communists on our behalf. And yes, there was a bloodbath. Those who have fought alongside people in their homeland tend to have a different take on our responsibility to those people and their families. Biden obviously never cared about any of them be they Hmong, Montagnards, Cambodians, S. Vietnamese, or Afghans. In every case the indigenous people who assisted us in military operations to protect U.S. interests, were left to fend for themselves. That's especially bad when the folks coming to punish them for their actions in support of the U.S. are fond of chopping off heads and "marrying" your 12 year old daughters. If America still has the capability to stop that we should.
