A B2 Spirit stealth bomber, one of the most deadly weapons in the United States' military arsenal and worth $2billion, was damaged after an emergency landing at Whiteman Air Force Base in Missouri today. Officials said that pilots had to land after they experienced an in-flight malfunction during a routine training. Nobody was injured and there was no fire once the bomber landed. The incident involving the B2 happened around 12.30am and unfolded in a temporary flight restriction six miles in all directions and 8,000ft from the ground up set by the Federal Aviation Administration.(Snip)Only 21 B2 bombers have ever been manufactured, and there are only 20

Comments:

Do we lack money for maintenance or time for training other than wokeness, was an unqualified crew at the controls? We'll never know, but as a one poster points out, we could build 1,550 examples of this, the most expensive aircraft ever built, instead of the insane $3.1 trillion "infrastructure" bill the alleged president is peddling.

Boy, when it rains it pours, eh? Fortunately we have a crack CIC on the job who is no doubt on top of the situation... Hold up a minute. Forget everything I just said except the crack part. If he's not smoking it his head is definitely up it. Good question #1. Unfortunately it's only half in jest, I know.

It happens sometimes. Safe bet if the investigation shows a serious problem that could embarrass some big shots, it will become pilot error or some wrench monkey will take the fall.

Instead of being drivebys, read about this amazing aircraft and its capablity. In its long history it has only “crashed” twice - read the article - and this involved no fire nor injury to the two pilots. I’ll bet you didn’t know that they could fly it all the way to the Soviet Union, drop a lethal load and come back. Round trip. That was what it was designed to do. At high altitude it looks like a pigeon. And it eludes all sorts of detection systems. Go on. Read it. You guys are beginning to sound like a gaggle of gossips. :-)

Did it Land? or did it crash? No eject for the pilots, no subsequent fire...Imma call that a "Landing". though because of the jets composite nature it may never fly again...depends upon what part was actually damaged.

Federal, state and local leaders on Tuesday unveiled a statue of the late Newark Mayor Kenneth Gibson in front of city hall about two years after another sculpture of him began to crumble shortly after it was erected. SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Despite warnings the race would be close, California Gov. Gavin Newsom decisively defeated efforts to kick him out of office, a win the Democrat cast as an endorsement of his handling of the coronavirus pandemic and his party’s liberal values. Newsom cruised to victory in the recall election Tuesday, boosted by healthy turnout among an overwhelmingly Democratic electorate, ensuring the nation’s most populous state will remain a laboratory for progressive policies.
