Our Most Reliable Pandemic Number Is Losing Meaning

At least 12,000 Americans have already died from COVID-19 this month, as the country inches through its latest surge in cases. But another worrying statistic is often cited to depict the dangers of this moment: The number of patients hospitalized with COVID-19 in the United States right now is as high as it has been since the beginning of February. It’s even worse in certain places: Some states, including Arkansas and Oregon, recently saw their COVID hospitalizations rise to higher levels than at any prior stage of the pandemic. But how much do those latter figures really tell us?

Comments:

The Atlantic, of all sources, hardly a right wing news outlet, calls the entire hospitalization numbers for COVID into question. It seems the numbers are greatly exaggerated with admissions of many who are asymptomatic.

Does anyone with half a brain trust any COVIDS-related numbers? Both sides of this issue have propagandized to the point of public anesthesia. No matter where the numbers come from, they're illustrative of figures lie and liars figure.

FTA: “Those patients who are there with rather than from COVID don’t belong in the metric.” How long have many of us been shouting this from the rooftops? By definition, at least until Covid became a political weapon, a “case” with no symptoms was not a “case”. It’s incredible that this piece is in The Atlantic. Wonder what their true motive is? I trust nothing from The Left.

You pandemic preachers have lied and lied all the way through this. From the phony statistics to the pontificating politicians, none have any credibility. As far as fauci, the cdc, and the nih, they deserve to lose their funding, if not their freedom. By crucifying HCQ and ivermectin because of its association with trump reduces you to the lowest of our enemies. Ignoring the rampant "breakthrough" infections and their ramifications compounds your dishonesty. You can all go to hell.

Now admitting that all their "data" is totally muddled, meaningless baloney. Huge fractions of the "hospitalized for Wuhan flu " are actually in for something else entirely. Large numbers are not really very sick. Trying to draw any knowledge from their BS "data" is a waste of time.

Two days after the January 6th riot at the United States Capitol, Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley secretly took action to keep President Donald Trump from ordering the use of nuclear weapons. The revelations come to light in Bob Woodward’s new book “Peril.” “You never know what a president’s trigger point is,” Milley reportedly told his staff. According to CNN, who reviewed the book, Milley ‘called a secret meeting in his Pentagon office on January 8 to review the process for military action, including launching nuclear weapons. […] Milley instructed them not to take orders from anyone unless he was involved.’

Rather than solidifying President Trump’s policy of peace in the Middle East, OBiden’s actions are likely to blow the entire region up into another OBiden mess. President Trump went to the Middle East and visited world religious leaders on his first overseas visit in an effort to bring peace to the Middle East. President Trump inherited ISIS terrorizing the Middle East as well as Iran and both these terrorist entities were backed by the OBiden gang. President Trump’s strategy was peace, not horror and destruction.

President Joe Biden's new vaccine mandates for federal employees don't apply to members of Congress or those who work for Congress or the federal court system. Biden issued two executive orders on Thursday requiring vaccination against COVID for federal workers and contractors who work for the federal government. He also asked the Department of Labor to issue an emergency order requiring businesses with more than 100 employees to ensure their workers are vaccinated or tested on a weekly basis. However, Biden's order on federal workers applies to employees of the executive branch.

A French government decree issued on Thursday bumped the United States and Israel from the country's "green" list, down to "orange," effectively prohibiting nonessential travel to France for unvaccinated visitors. Under France's rules, unvaccinated travelers from either country will still be allowed in provided they have an essential reason for travel, however they'll need a negative Covid-19 test before travel and must quarantine for seven days on arrival. France's move follow restrictions imposed on US travelers from several other European destinations. Earlier this week, Spain changed its entry policy for arrivals from the US, requiring them to have a certificate proving double vaccination.

The University of Texas at San Antonio is no longer using “Come and Take It” as a football chant. In August, university President Taylor Eighmy expressed concern that “Come and Take It” is inseparably linked to political debates, including those over gun rights. The chant is emblazoned on a flag waved at UTSA's football games and also used as a rallying cry during the fourth quarter. The phrase has roots in the Battle of the Alamo, which occurred in San Antonio and preceded the formation of the Republic of Texas.

William F. Buckley’s desire to “stand athwart history and yell ‘Stop!’” described a personality type more than a political agenda. Conservatives, by well-earned reputation, tend to revere traditions and institutions, trust authority, and favor measured, incremental change. Dana Carvey’s impersonation of George H.W. Bush caricatured the type brilliantly: “Wouldn’t be prudent, wouldn’t be prudent at this juncture.” Without knocking prudence, however, shouting “Stop!” is only a smart strategy when you’re ahead. It doesn’t help when you’re losing. (snip)Stopping time now would enshrine the stupidity, cruelty, and moral bankruptcy of radical leftist wokeism.

Axios was told Biden explained to Manchin his opposition could imperil the $1.2 trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill that’s already passed the Senate.
